We reached to Ember Island (with a little help from Appa of course) just in time to see the play. I noticed that Zuko brought Mai along with him. My soul ragged with anger as I saw the two of them holding hands. Aang was with me too, but we didn't held each others hands; he tried though, but I always released it, as I said before, I just pretended to love him. We sat at the same seats we did last time, Toph however, sat up front so her feet can see it. I sat next to Zuko like last time, but Mai was sitting next to him too, and Aang sat by me also.
The play began. The actors for Sokka and I were the same, and their lines were too. I guess Sokka was incorrect about the play being "good". When they got to the part wear Sokka and I found Aang frozen in an iceberg, Aang was relieved when he found out that it was an actor that played him, and not an actress. However, the actor had a girlish side. As the play went on, I gazed at Zuko. My eyes glistered as I looked at his dark coal black hair, and pale white skin. My eyes met his, but just for a moment; for his eyes flickered away, and instead, my eyes met with Mai's. The expression on her face told me to stay away from him, but how? How could I stay away from him. I love him. He's my heart and soul, my life, my spirit, my whole. I looked back to the play and watched it until they got to the part where Zuko and I got trapped in the cave.
I payed close attention to that part, even though it was an awful memory of Zuko betraying me, I still payed close attention, and I was surprised that they changed the lines. And here is how it went:
Me(actress): Zuko! What are you doing here???
Zuko(actor): The Dai Li captured me and threw me in this cave, I didn't expect to see you here!
Me(actress): Well I didn't expect to see you either!
Zuko(actor): You look pretty.
Me(actress): Thank you....
And as the actors that played us approached. They kissed! I turned to Zuko to see his reaction, but he wasn't there. So I rose from my seat to look for him.
I finally found him on the porch were Aang and I were last time. He was looking at the stars (I haven't realized that it was late!).
"Is everything alright Zuko?" I asked.
He didn't answer. I approached him.
"Is something wrong?" I asked him again.
"I'm sorry..." he whispered.
"What do you mean?"
"When I betrayed you, back at Ba Sin Se!"
"Zuko, that was a long time ago, and I have forgiven you!"
"But that was cruel of me!" He began to shout.
"Zuko--"
"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!! I was confused and lost back there! I gained your trust, but I was a fool to loose it.....the first trust and confidence I had!"
"What about your uncle?"
"IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!! MY UNCLE'S TRUST WAS FOR A FATHER, BUT YOURS...........yours was powerfull, and comforting........AND I LOST IT!!!
"YOU HAVEN'T LOST MY TRUST ZUKO!!! I TRUST YOU NOW!!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!! I---"
"YOU WHAT????"
"I love you...."
There was a long silence.
"What about the avatar?" he asked.
"He's sweet and kind....but it is you who I truely love!" I began. "Ever since I've notived something special about you.......but I was too frightened to confess to you.....besides, you have Mai, and I know that you two are happy together."
As I was heading back inside, he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. Our eyes met, and slowley my lips met with his, and when they touched, I felt a spark run through my spine, and shivered my whole body, until I felt numb and slightly fainted. He grasped me tight to make sure I didn't fell, but our lips were still locked tight, as if someone had glued are lips together. But still, I felt joy in my heart and spirit, and hope was born in my soul and mind that there might be a chance for Zuko and I to be together.
