The Unseen Mental & Physical Hurt Caused By Belfast City Council

Brooke In Hospital Shortly After Belfast City Council Dog Wardens Seized Lennox

When Belfast City Council dog wardens come to responsible dog owners homes and wrongfully seize much loved family pets do they stop for a moment at anytime and consider the damage they cause to not only the dog but the family? No, they obviously don’t and clearly these heartless people’s only concern is their annual targets and figures. Twelve year old Brooke fell victim to the Belfast Council’s ruthless ways when her best friend was seized by wardens almost seven months ago and she has never seen him since. This little girl who spent so much time with her dog pleaded to wardens not to take her dog but wardens did so regardless of tears and cries from little Brooke. The Belfast Council have continually said in certain statements since Lennox’s seizure that they do not make the laws but “are only enforcing laws laid out by the DARD” (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) which doesn’t really wash well with the hundreds of thousands of Lennox supporters from around the globe, everyone clearly understands that these wardens and Belfast Council have to enforce these laws and there has never been any argument about such however it is the tactics, misidentification, lies and the way in which Belfast City Council and their dog wardens have targeted easy responsible dog owners and how the council go about enforcing such laws and legislations which is the problem.

On the 19th May 2010 Lennox was taken from his loving family with the use of a wrongly addressed warrant, the council used copyrighted material to attempt identification of Lennox’s breed even though the council have issued a dog licence every year for the last five years and already know from his licence that he is a American Bull dog Labrador cross and to raise public anger further the council drafted a certain breed expert from mainland UK twice to attempt identification of Lennox, this council expert paid with tax payers money has since based his report of Lennox on two one hour visits to a dog who is already nervous and has been kept caged in solitary confinement without human interaction, exercise, toys for mental stimulation, proper bedding, proper food and a clear lack of a fresh water supply, yet this expert now claims after these two one hour assessments that Lennox should be put to death and never see the light of day again. After almost six years of owning Lennox the family have never had any concerns or issues with Lennox, yet after the council have had Lennox inhumanely caged for almost seven months they are attempting to secure his immediate death through a Crown Court on the 23rd November 2010 where the council Barrister and council breed expert from mainland UK will take the witness stand and under oath portray Lennox to be some kind of aggressive, crazed demon animal. You heard it here first, and when they stand before a Judge in court and state such lies ask yourself this; How has a little girl and her family who foster dogs for animal shelters owned a beautiful dog for almost six years without problem and yet the council have had him almost seven months and suddenly he is evil, what must the council have done to him in this time?

The Daily Mirror Newspaper was granted access to the family’s most private, most painful secret recently and permitted permission to print the story of Brooke. This story needed to be told as it clearly demonstrates the mental and physical damage the Belfast City Council, council dog wardens and experts have caused to a little twelve year old girl by separating and removing her pet. This is the story of a little child’s suffering caused by the Belfast City Council, a story the council don’t want people to see and the story that Belfast City Councillors ignore whilst they keep quiet within council chambers after they have received little notes telling them to do so. To date no councillor has agreed to meet the family or the little girl and listen to their concerns regarding Lennox, mistakes made by Belfast City Council and their hired help, no councillor has acknowledged emails or messages sent by the family pleading for a meeting to stop this cruel deed or to help them begin changing the dog laws in Northern Ireland which currently lay redundant. When election time comes again to Northern Ireland how many of these council members and the political parties they are assigned to will suddenly knock on your door asking for your vote? When that day comes again remember Lennox’s outcome, give thought for little broken hearted Brooke whom those people awaiting your vote ignored even when the little girl cried out to them asking for help!
