Part 9) Alice's POV

"Alice?" I heard Jasper ask. "Alice, what did you see?" I blinked and came out of my vision. "We're close," I answered, taking his hand and walking at human pace towards the house. "Really close," I breathed. We walked into a clearing and saw a huge white house. Outside of the house were Carlisle, Esme, and Rosalie. I'd seen that Emmett and Edward were out hunting and weren't going to be here. That was good; it meant that there was a smaller chance of us being attacked. As we got into the clearing, however, Jasper walked slightly in front of me, being protective, as always. Carlisle stood on the proch with Esme next to him, and I saw Rosalie sitting on a windowseat and looking down from the window, probably in her room. "Hello," Carlisle said, approaching us. Protectively, Jasper half-stepped in front of me, but I ignored him and smiled hugely at the kind leader. "Hello," I said brightly. "My name is Alice, and this is my mate, Jasper. You must be Carlisle." Carlisle looked surprised that I knew his name. I already knew what he was going to say next: "Yes, how do you know my name?" "Jasper and I have been travelling a while to find your coven," I answered his unspoken question. I noticed Rosalie had disappeared from the window. She walked out the front door and stood on the porch with Esme. I smiled over at them. "You two must be Esme and Rosalie." Esme's eyes widened slightly, Rosalie's narrowed. "How do you know us?" she growled. Jasper stepped fully in front of me now, but I touched his arm. He hesitantly looked back at me. "It's okay," I assured him. "Nothing's going to happen. They won't hurt us." He stared at me for a few seconds, measuring my expression and feeling my emotions before he stepped away. "Of course we won't hurt you," Esme spoke up, touching Rosalie gently on the shoulder. I looked around. "Hmm. It seems that Edward and Emmett aren't back from hunting yet," I said quietly, but loud enough for all of them to hear me. "I'm sorry," Carlisle said politely. "But how do you know our names?" "May we come in?" I asked, smiling at him again. "It's sort of a long story, and I think it'd be more comfortable if we weren't all on edge." I looked at Jasper when I said the last couple of words. He was still tense, and I touched his face softly. He looked at me and softened. "Calm," I mouthed to him before turning back to Carlisle. "Yes, of course," Carlisle said kindly, turning and walking towards the house. I took Jasper's hand and pulled him along. Rosalie had already gone into the house, and Carlisle walked in before us, but Esme stayed back and smiled kindly at us, putting one hand on my shoulder softly. "Carlisle," she said as we walked inside. "They came all this way just to find us. We should let them stay." Jazz gave her a surprised look, but I'd seen that one coming, and I smiled at her. "Of course," Carlisle agreed. My smile got even bigger, and I heard Jazz chuckle under his breath, probably at my enthusiasm. Esme led us to their living room, and allowed us to sit on the couch. "Thank you," I said, sitting down. Esme and Carlisle sat in chairs across from us. I started the story from the time I woke up as a vampire until now, filling in every detail. It took a few hours, and Jasper had finally calmed down, smiling and playing with a strand of my hair as I told the story. He seemed to like the atmosphere in the room. It was very calm in there; I didn't need his ability to tell. Carlisle and Esme were relaxed as I told my story, and when I finished, they were intruiged. "You can see the future?" Carlisle asked, excited. He seemed to like learning new things. "Yes, though I can't see everything. I don't completely understand my ability; I'm still learning and everything. But, yes, I can basically see the future." "You saw us and decided to come here once you found Jasper?" Esme spoke up. I nodded. "Yes," I answered. Rosalie hadn't come down the stairs until just then, and I knew she had heard everything from the intruiged look on her face. She walked over and sat on the left side of me, since Jazz was sitting on my right side. "So we've heard your story," she said, pushing a lock of her long, curly blonde hair out of her face and looked up at Jasper. "What's yours?" Jasper measured her expression for a few seconds before he began his story. He started from what he remembered in his human life, since it related to the beginning of his vampire life. I had already told Carlisle and Esme that I couldn'ty remember one detail from my human life, so they didn't ask anything about it.

When Jasper was finished telling his story, Carlisle threw tons of questions at him, and Esme stood up, gesturing that we should go and let them talk. I stood and walked over to her, Rosalie close behind me. "Would you like to choose a room for you and Jasper to live in?" she asked. Rosalie spoke up in a sugar-sweet voice. "Actually, Esme, I'll do it." Esme shot her a suspicious look, but didn't object. "All right," she said hesitantly before turning and smiling at me and mouthing "good luck." I laughed and mouthed "I'll try to survive." Esme laughed slightly and kissed me on the forehead before walking back into the living room where Jazz and Carlisle were still talking. Rosalie took my hand and pulled me up two flights of stairs and to the end of the hall on the third floor. "Okay," she breathed so low that even I could barely hear. "This is Edward's room. I know something that will make him really annoyed." I beamed, already certain that her plan would work. I didn't need her to say it, but I did anyway. "You say you want this room, and I object, but you insist, okay? And we move Edward's stuff out into the garage, all right?" I nodded enthusiastically and she opened the door to his room.

Part 10) Jasper's POV

Carlisle had finished the interrogation, and was now telling me the details of his story. I knew the outline because of the quick one-over from my Ali, but some of the details of his story surprised me. I was vaguely aware of Rosalie and Ali upstairs talking because I was so into the story.

Later, when Esme had moved the discussion into the kitchen, I heard Ali and Rosalie moving things out of the house, and into the garage it sounded like. Esme went to find out what the girls were doing and came back and said, "They're moving Edward's things into the garage." Carlisle chuckled and I laughed aloud. Esme looked disapprovingly at the both of us, but her mouth was set like she was trying not to smile.

When the girls were finished, Rosalie helped Ali move some things into the room, and when they were finished, Edward and Emmett came home. They came in through the back. "Carlisle, Esme, Rosalie, we're home!" one of them called. They walked into the living room. "Oh, hello, Emmett...Edward," Alice said, giggling, as she and Rosalie walked into the room. The tall, bronze-haired boy that Alice addressed as Edward stiffened when she said hi to him. Emmett looked-and felt-confused and intruiged, and he put one arm around Rosalie's waist. "Who are they?" he asked. Emmett seemed completely at ease, and Edward was tense. I tried helping him out; he relaxed instantly and shot me a half-confused, half-angry glance. I chuckled lightly to myself, and his glare intensified. "Edward, calm down," Esme said soothingly, squeezing Edward's shoulder. She sighed and added, "And you may want to check to see what they've done to your room." Edward was up the stairs in a flash. Damn, he was fast, even for a vampire. "What happened to my room?" I heard him shout a second later. I couldn't refrain from laughing. I hadn't seen what the girls had done to it, and the anger and tension rolling off Edward weren't comforting, but Alice was all giggles and happiness, and that drowned out the uncomfortable feeling. Edward was back downstairs, but I wasn't paying attention to him. Instead I took Ali's hand and we went outside to wait until Esme and Carlisle calmed Edward down. We sat on the porch steps, and I drew Alice into my lap. "Are you happy, Ali?" I whispered in her ear. She snuggled closer to my chest. "Yes," she answered, sighing contentedly and laying her head in the crook of my neck. "Good," I said. "I'm glad." And I was.
