So, I have been really into the Hunger Games recently...just finished the # 2 book Catching Fire and am reading the last one Mockingjay. Here I'll just post my opinions on each of the tributes from the 74th & 75th Hunger Games.
*** Just my opinion, so you can disagree and I won't be mad. I actually encourage other people's opinions to be shared as I'd love to see what you think!! I used to not even like Clove, until one of my friends pointed out how great she was! ***

74th Hunger Games
Careers
- Glimmer: No...just no. I hate Glimmer. In the book, she's okay. But in the movie I can't even stand it when she appears. Good actress, but horrible role.
- Marvel: I don't really have an opinion on him. He doesn't make much of an appearance in the book, and he also killed Rue. However, in the movie, he's charming enough, and it is technically part of the Games to kill. So I won't call him out for doing his "job".
- Clove: I love Clove. Despite that she's a Career, and that she's brutal and kills without thought, Clove is more human than the rest of the Career tributes, and I ship her with Cato. A lot. She also indirectly saved Katniss by killing the boy that was going kill her at the Cornucopia.
- Cato: I have mixed feelings about him. He is a jerk, but perhaps with good reason. I believe that he really does love Clove, and that his affairs with Glimmer were just an act. He has serious anger issues, but the reason: his camp got blown up, his girlfriend died, they were attacked by wasps, and he (everyone actually) was bested by a 'simple-minded girl from District 12'. His actions may be bad actions, but he has a reason and a right to do what he did.
- District 4 Tributes: The guy died way early so I have no opinion on him. The girl lasted long enough and died by getting bitten to death by Tracker Jacker wasps. Otherwise, we don't know much about her, either.
Foxface
- Her Name is FINCH: Firstly I would like to call out Katniss for not learning this wonderful character's name -- it is Finch Crossley, not Foxface. Secondly I would just like to say that I wanted Foxface to win from the start. He training score was too average. Her survival technique was really cool. She lasted longer than all but one Career (I think...please correct me if she died before Clove, I really don't remember). And she did not die from combat, she died from starvation & poisoning.
District 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
- District 6 Tributes: Yeah, okay. So I hate Jason because he broke up Cato & Clove. The girl, however, I have absolutely no opinion on as I'm pretty sure she died way early.
- District 7 Tributes: No opinion on them either.
- District 8 Tributes: The girl made a freaking fire in the middle of the night!!!!! You could have killed Katniss!! THANK GOODNESS PEETA KILLED YOU!!!1!!! The guy died too early for me to care.
- District 9 Tributes: No opinion.
- District 10 Tributes: They are truly pathetic. I don't mean to be like the Capitol people, but the guy had a broken leg, and the girl lasted 23 seconds.
District 11
- Rue: Love her. She saved Katniss so many times, she's only twelve, and lasted so long. I really admire Rue, and she really did have the most dignified death in all 74 years of the Hunger Games. Loved the alliance between her and Katniss. She was my second pick for victor after Finch.
- Thresh: I mean, he was good to Katniss because of the alliance with Rue. But he also killed Clove. I mean, seriously, dude? She did not even kill Rue. you just killed a lady when she was at her weakest. (not saying Clove was weak though)
The Star-Crossed Lovers from District 12
- Peeta: He's the nice kid from the nice family who has nice food and nice clothes and nice painting. So what. I don't really think he's all that special. I do like him, just not to the point where I want everyone to know why.
- Katniss: So I guess I like her. Not a lot, as she was really, and I mean REALLY dependant on all of her allies -- Peeta, Rue, Thresh, Haymitch, later Finnick, Mags, Johanna, Beetee, Wiress. Even Clove helped her. But I do love Katniss and how she's willing to protect her loved ones, even if it means being reaped into the Hunger Games.
75th Hunger Games
Careers
- Cashmere & Gloss: I put them together because they're really similar. "The brother and sister who won consecutive games" were really alike in fighting style, and of course they are the classic District 1 careers. I can't say I dislike them, because they weren't exactly "the Capitol's lapdogs" but I don't like Cashmere for killing Wiress, and I don't like Gloss because I guess I just don't. It'll be easy to sway my thoughts to the negative or positive for these two.
- Brutus: I didn't hate him as much as I thought I would, actually. He didn't actually do that much killing. He was nice to Enobaria. He killed that annoying Chaff. He was formal and asked Katniss formally to ally with him. I'll admit, much better than I expected.
- Enobaria: I kinda love her. She survived. Not that much killing. Such beautiful teeth. Still young. Kind to the Capitol. Nice to Katniss. And she's supportive of the rebellion.
Katniss' Team
- Katniss & Peeta: Just read the thing from the 74th Hunger Games. I don't really want to type it again.
- Johanna: LOVE HER. A lot. She's sassy, still young and pretty, dangerous, cunning (not really but imo is anyone else really any better?).
- Finnick: Love him too. He's cute with Annie as well. He saved Peeta. He's really cocky, but it's clearly just an act. Not going to lie, if I wasn't Ace, I would be probably be crushing on him.
- Mags: The sweet old lady who saved everyone. I feel so much sadness and sympathy for her.
- Beetee: Umm...he reminds me of my teacher? I don't really know what to think of him.
- Wiress: Smart, but it's not obvious. I actually suspected her clock theory before Katniss figured it out, but I want to say that Wiress is pretty brilliant.
District 8
- Cecelia: Her poor children. Honestly though, I thought she would at least survive the Bloodbath///
- Woof: I don't like Woof. Probably 'cuz he's just old and not interesting.
District 11
- Chaff: I really hate this guy. He's a drunk, he kissed Katniss. Blegh. No wonder Haymitch is friends with him. Thank goodness Brutus killed him, and I really can't believe I'm celebrating Brutus murdering someone.
- Seeder: I feel such sympathy for her. I really wished she didn't die during the Bloodbath. Honestly, I wished she didn't die at all.
District 5, 6, 9, 10
- Morphlings: I don't know how I feel about them...
- District 5, 9, 10 Tributes: I forgot who was from District 5, 9 and 10. I think the guy from 5 was a drunk. And he was the first one to die. Otherwise I think I don't know anything.
