Chapter Seven: Warm, Gentle Kindness
That night I didn't sleep a wink. I tend to Cilan's wounds. We he tossed and turned painfully, I whispered to him to make him sleep again. Nurse Joy told me that he needs to have a weeks rest. Who would show me around? This morning, Cress walked in to his room to make sure we were okay.
"Is he okay?" The loving older brother asked me.
"He's been better I presume." I guessed. "All of his wounds were recent though."
"Hey who is going to show you around school?" Cress asked me. He placed his gentle hand on my shoulder. Then, he crouched down beside me.
"I don't know. You have different classes, Chili is only in his first year, and Cilan is hurt." I sighed sorrowly.
"I have a friend who has almost the exact same classes as him. Maybe she could help?" He hugged me from behind.
"Cress, thanks." I said returning the hug to him.
"You should get dressed, I'll walk you to school this morning, alright?" He said releasing me.
"Alright Cressie." I said.
I ran to my room and dressed up in my green dress that had spegetti straps. Today, I decided to a Miku Hatsune hairstyle, just to look a little better. My mascara was missing so I just put on eye shawdow and glitter lip gloss on. Before I went downstairs I freshed Cilan's bandages and put another coat of Anti-Bacteria stuff on his cuts. I can't believe that he would try to do that, I thought he was different.
"Rin...."Something whispered. It was Cilan and he weakly trying to get up. "My body hurts badly."
"It will for awhile." I said putting the covers back over him. "Promise me you won't try and scare me like that again!" My eyes were now tearing, and I hugged him to try and contain myself.
"I promise." He said returning the hug. "I didn't know what I was doing with myself. I just lost it."
"Please stay here." I said grabbing my bag and going out the door. "I'll see you at lunch time."
"Alright. Bye." I ran down the stairs and Cress was already at the door.
"Are you coming or not?" Cress said.
I smiled and walked out the door ahead of him.
"Hey wait up!" He yelled chasing me.
We raced the whole way to school. We stopped at the steps. He gasped for breath, and so did I.
"You're pretty fast." Cress remarked.
"You're not to shabby yourself." I said.
"I'm on the track team, what do you think?" He said walking up the steps to school. I followed and he walked to his locker. I remember where mine was thankfully, and opened it. I grabbed my math book and green note back with the words Math carefully written in Cilan's handwritting.
"Hey I'm looking for Rin?" A girl with short brown hair asked me.
"Right here!" I said joyfully. I smiled my best smile.
"Cress sent me to help you with your classes." She said. "My name is Elizebeth and I'm captain of the swim team."
"Hello Elizebeth. Nice to meet you." I said shaking her hand. In her right arm she was holding her text books for math.
"Oh where Cilan? Isn't this locker?" She asked pointing to the locker next to mine.
"He's at home healing from yesterday." I answered.
"Oh dear! What happened?" She asked.
"I'm not really sure. But he is seriously hurt, I know that." I blushed.
"Anyway it's almost time for math, come on!" She pulled me towards the math room. Miss Keshan greeted us and asked how Cilan was.
"He's fine." I said. "Hurt but fine."
"I want you to give these too him." she said handing me a small box and a card. "Tell him they're from his favorite teacher."
"Alright will do." I put them in my bag and sat down in my seat. The bell rang announcing that school was now underway. We did the Unova pledge, and did our morning work. We learned about some stuff that I already knew from my previous years of my mom teaching me.
