Anime Role Playing is just role playing except there is no limits on who you can be or what you are, even if you made up your own character! It includes Star Wars, Video Game Characters, Cartoons, Books/Novels, and especially ANIME! There is, however, a few rules so once this club gets popular there will be no unfair trials or rigged characters (overpowered)
Guidelines:
1.) Negatives
Don't put people down for their grammer, spelling, ideas, beliefs, or anything negative (unless it's rpg taunting) Everyone has a style of rping...of course, it would help to say in a rpg, "Then the blade struck Kim, ripping my arm away" Rather then "It hit him, the arm hurts" See?
2.) 3rd Person
Even if you are the main character, or if you want to express "I" with your character, you ARE the narrator so express it as in you are watching the fight. use "he, she, them, they, their, him, her- ect." rather then "we, our, I, us- ect." UNLESS your character is talking, then it's 1rst person. Makes the rpg more real.
3.) Avantages
You are allowed to make a character, make them as good as Super Man if you wish but you cannot surpass a level of GOD. In other words, don't make them so invincible they cannot die or have no weak points. That ruins the rpg and no one will try to play with you anymore. Make it reasonable, make them mortal at most if you can. More or less, rpg is more about struggle. Anyone can show off with God-Like character traits, but a true pro tries to pull off stunts with reasonable actions.
4.) Defeat
Everyone knows one reason why they mainly rpg for - to win a fight against an rpger. Truth is, we can't win every fight. If you refuse and add things to turn it around, it'll only drag the battle on and on and on and on and on. So try to make it realistic, besides you only get stronger once you lose for then you can come back with better stradigies. It makes it more fun when you make it worth losing *thumbs up* Good for yah!
5.) Comments or Chatting
If you want to ask something, talk about something, or just chat, MAKE sure you put the ( ) around it so people know you are out of character. That way, people don't get mixed up between what you say and the rpg storyline.
6.) Character's Lives
Don't compare your day or life's mood to your character. If you having a good day, doesn't mean in ur rpg in a fight your character is too with a knife in his/her back. Make them seprate from yourself, don't take in your moods of joy, sorrow, or anger and make the character the same way. It's a different world, so make it that way.
7.) Pay Attention to RPG
People submit their character's info, looks, and personality for a reason: To make the rpg more useful to add scenes with imagry in mind. It is important if you conclude their statements to your rpg, so it relates rather then making up something that isn't part of the characters.
8.) Know Your Place
Never underestimate a person's character, even if you have way better details or anything that "tramples" their character. ALL characters are equal, many hold such potentials it has a great variety to it *nods* indeed...so don't bash on people taking avantage and saying they can't beat you cause then you're just as bad.
9.) No KO Spells
You can't just make up a power that destoryes the whole area or automaticly kills off an rpg character. That's being to God-like, so extend it to a finishing stradigy. You can't rise and blow up planets in a flash, that's violating rule #3 so make it worth while, along with a good plan.
10.) You're NOT The Main Character
People take in pride that they matter most and their rival or allies are just the "fillers" but in truth everyone is Equal! So don't (unless it's rpg character bragging) brag about how amazing and epic you are. You'd be surprised how amazing people can get their character. The world doesn't revolve around YOU, it's mainly about surviving it or gaining people. So try your best to make the best use for it.
11.) Don't Cuss Max
It is understandable to cuss every now and then, especially in Rpg's because the character is emotional and being realistic. But if you or your character constantly cuss, with the f bombs or speak alot of rude words like the a, b, d, and f words mostly, you aren't going to be taken seriously. So consider a limit on how much you talk trash.
12.) Don't be Sexist/Racist or Anti-Religon
Not all characters have to be white males, or white females. It is better for people to have black, hispanic, and so forth as a set for their character (a better varity) so accept them even in real life you are offened by their existance. It's best to love all people for their culpture and beliefs. Everyone has a right to be religious even if u are religious, don't deny a Jew, or Buddist, or Catholic, or Christian. We are all humans after all.
13.) Don't Shun Characters
Just because they may not relate to Anime, doesn't mean it's illegal. The club is really based on rpging with any character you are pleased with, and not being allowed is the biggest flaw of this club's purpose. You can report it, but otherwise go with the flow. If they have Edward from Twilight as a character, go fight him not hollar it's not allowed!
14.) Be Very Detailed
It doesn't relate to how good you are to rpging, but it would be a good idea to express the enviorment around the characters, the time period, the situation, the character's apperance and how they are like (including their powers, style of fighting, weaknesses, -ect.) So be creative as much as you can. Make SURE you include the character's name wisely.
15.) Just Have Fun (Most Important)
Biggest rule of Rpging: If you get into it for just being competative, you're only going to lose interest. It's cool and all to try and win, but if you just focus on winning then you'll only end up getting upset or aggravated. It's to have fun and witness new views on creativity of characters. Even fun to lose actually, shows how real it is. Doesn't mean ur character dies, it just shows u'r being a good sport.
In the best way to Rpg is probably by e-mail messaging (like Yahoo Messanger) constant messaging without delays. It helps keep up the heat on rpging, but u can do it on Fanpop messaging as well, extending it to be longer. Ether way, it's awsome. Enjoy the Anime Role Playing Club, submit and have fun! ^_^
