Anime Question

Anime suggestions, please.~ (Warning: Looking for something very specific!)

I told two of my younger friends that I'd find them an anime they'd like! I would love some that fit these requirements:
• They're both younger boys, so no romantic comedies or the like. They need something that will hold their interest.
• Not too much gore. Guns, blood and such are okay, but no guts splattered or limbs chopped off.
• Little or no shonen-ai or shojo-ai. They're not homophobes, but it'd just be less awkward.
• No ecchi. A little unsuggestive nudity is fine, but nothing else.
• They come from a very religious family, so nothing that's obviously sacrilegious.
• Not an anime that practically everyone knows about, including non-anime fans (i.e. Bleach, DBZ, Pokemon, Naruto).
• It must have an English dub.
• Fairly easy for me to pull up on our TV (i.e. through Netflix, cheap complete series box set, possibly Amazon instant streaming or Youtube).

By the way, I've shown them a few anime already, and out of them, they loved Code Geass, Sands of Destruction, and Sgt. Frog. They didn't go for xxxHolic (The older of them thought it was too boring. ;A;) or Darker Than Black (The younger of them thought it was too violent.).

I feel so rude for asking for something so specific. Dx To make up for it, I'll give anyone who gives a viable suggestion any amount of props between 1 and 20 upon request.

Hm.. You should try watching Angel Beats with them. :) I don't know if it's on nextflix though since I don't have it. xD Katekyo Hitman Reborn might be another one they'd like, it can be a bit boring in the beginning but if you stick with it you are in for a real treat. It doesn't have a dub though and my friends told me that they watched it on netflix so hopefully it's still on there? :O Another good one would be D.gray-man, the dub is phenomenal though the dub stops at episode 56- something.. :( I was going to suggest Fairy Tail but I don't think they'd like it that much lol.

My friend's been trying to get me to watch D. Gray Man. It's so long, but I suppose that's good if the guys end up liking it. Thanks!

Try Vampire Knight. Although it's officially classified as a shoujo anime, it's darker and interesting.
Also, maybe Baka and Test could work. It's a bit suggestive though, and there's a bit of implied shounen-ai and yaoi here and there...

I've already considered Baka and Test, and, sadly, I don't think they'd take to it. Dx I'll give VK a try though! Do you want any props?

It doesn't really matter to me if I get props or not.

Regarding FMA, that show made me way too sad, so even if they enjoyed it, it would make me depressed. Dx On the other hand, I've actually been considering Soul Eater; I've just gotta decide if Blair is too...you know...for them. Thanks for the suggestions!

Wow, you are picky.
Questions about appropriate anime: Making fans think hard since 2006 (I'm just guessing).
Ummm... How about Sonic X? Yeah, I think that should work. It's a lighthearted, younger (by theme), funny, gore-free anime which I like. And I think you can watch it on YouTube.

You've probably already thought of most of these, but just in case, here's my suggestions:

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - will work great as long as they like people fighting with giant robots. This would be my number 1 recommendation, it's epic, at least try it before you say no.

FLCL - lots of action, not too violent and fairly well known. It's a bit weird though, not to everyones tastes.

Samurai Champloo - lots of sword fights and action, not much nudity or anything offensive that I can remember

Blue Exorcist - it's pretty much a typical Shonen anime, if they like that genre then this should be good

Cowboy Bebop - about a crew of bounty hunters, fun, good fight scenes

Other then that list you could try:
Tower of Druaga
Zoids
Full Metal Panic

Angelic Layer, it's by CLAMP as well. it contains no nudity, sexual refferences and no bloody violence.

Tales of the Abyss.
Scrapped Princess, both fantasy type animes. There is violence but it's not gory.

And maybe Death note. It's not bloody or anything but themes and concepts... hmm anyways thats all i've got.
