The leaves were rustling, as a figure ran as fast as her legs could take her running from a heavier larger echo of feet as they ran through the aurtum forest. A sudden sound of hooves coming behind the small army chasing the girl suddenly made the mob run in different directions. Alice came to a hault in an opening to the forest with pathways leading in many directions, all was silent ..... However she did not relax, as she knew very well she was not alone.....
"Arthur we must of lost them" Merlin said to the young king after a few moments of silence.
" She couldn't hae gone far Merlin they were chasing after her she could be in grave danger.
"I'm sure that might not be the case" however a loud scream from the east quickly changed his mind.
"Come on!" Arthur shouted to his fellow knights as they galloped in the same direction.
The sound of hooves cantering in the distance became more and more clearer as Alice lay and a heap of wet colourful leaves. She could feel a warm wet patch on the side of her stomach through her armour "why am I not yet dead" she thought to herself as she began to feel dangerously cold falling into more and more of an unconcouis sleep.
"My lord we have found her" Gwaine cried as he and Elyan kneeled close to her body. Arthur quickly ran to join them seeing the horror for himself "she's loosing alot of blood" Merlin spoke as he knelt closer to examen her tying a bandage around her stomach,"and she's freezing" It was Arthur who then knelt down towards her wipping a tear from the corner of his eye. " We must get her back to Camelot, before she becomes any worse." Arthur spoke with panic edged to his voice, he scooped her up and carryed her in his arms.
The orange glow of the sun began to leave the sky as the knights finally arrived back to Camelot, where Gwen ran down the stair case that lead to the caught yard. She ran staight to her husbands side planting a kiss on his distraught face where Gwen soon saw why. Under his red cloak was Alice lying still in Arthur's arms but pale but breathing . "Is she..." Gwen asked him looking hopeless herself
"only just" he answered with dispair "she was shot in the stomach by an arrow" he told his wife looking into her deep brown eyes "but shes still breathing, I must take her to Morgans chambers it can be her room from now on."
"I'm sure she would love that" Gwen says as she locks her lips around Arthurs for a brief moment.
"I know what i promised you but I must take care of her" Arthur says giving his wife an apoligetic look.
"no I understand it's fine you need to care for her.. I will come to you in a moment" Gwen replies she squeeses his arm before goin back inside.
Arthur carries Alice inside and up to Morganas chambers with Merlin and Giuas in toe. As he places her on the bed he looks around to see that the room has be completly rearanged for Alice's return all of Morganas belongings are gone and the room is overflowing with flowers and treats ,Arthur inhales the scenet of lavender "Guinevere" he thinks to himself and smiles she can see how much Alice means to him and has done everything she can to make her feel welcome.But look what has happened now all the weeks he has been waiting for her return since she sent the message to him and Gwen. "And here she lays all beaten and lifeless, this is all my fault I should of never let her leave"
"Arthur" Merlin says as he comes behind his friend "are you ok?" he asks, Arthur is standing slient over her after a few moments he replies,
"No Merln I'm not, how did this happen how could she end up like this after all these years of being away."
"Giuas says she will recover in time he says that she is strong you must not loose faith in yourself"
"I try not to" Arthur whispers looking down at Alice again.
Guinevere enters Alice's chambers a few moments later, to see her husband close to tears over the young girl. She walks over to him and puts her arms on his shoulders, he snakes his arm around her waist and pulls her close to him.
"Oh Athur" she says to him looking into his crystal blue eyes,
"I can't loose her Gwen she's the only family I've got left"
"I know, but whatever happens I'll be with you always" she whispers kissing his lips tenderly, he kisses her back feeling glad she is with him
"I know Gwen and I'm glad but she must recover .... she is my sister."
