Kodi is a Siberian Husky, but he's 1/4 wolf.

Kodi was named for either a) the Kodiak Islands, or b) the Alaskan town of Kodiak.

John's Bar was named after John Koch, one of the layout artists for Balto (1995).

During the E.D.A.S. sequence, a Kaltag look-alike and a Nikki look-alike can be seen in two open windows of the hotel, and a Balto look-alike can be seen on the roof of John's Bar next door. Additionally, the terrier from Balto: Wolf Quest (2002) (V) can be seen. Furthermore, the dog with the twitching eye, and the Saint Bernard-like dog from Balto (1995) can also be seen.

Dusty's voice was based on Aleu from Balto: Wolf Quest (2002) (V).

Kodi's full name is Kodiak.

Balto, Jenna, Boris, Muk, and Luk are the only characters to appear in all three Balto films.

Ralph was named for Ralph Zondag, one of the film's storyboard artists.

When Boris is bathing in the huge puddle before Stella comes along, the language he is singing in is not actually Russian. Boris' voice actor, Charles Fleischer, was asked to sing something that sounded Russian.

Duke's plane is a De Havilland DH4.

The Balto look-alike can be seen multiple times in the movie: during the E.D.A.S. sequence, to Kirby's right when he, Kodi, and Ralph are looking at Duke's plane, and when Jenna sees Kodi with the other dogs. The look-alike can also be seen as part of Kodi's dog team multiple times throughout the movie.

Dusty is a silver/gray-hued Siberian Husky.

At the end of the movie, the final shot of Duke's plane turns into the famous 24-cent U.S. Postage stamp showing a 1918 Curtiss Jenny.

At one point in the movie, Sylvie from Balto (1995) can be seen in an alley.

After this movie's release, 'Kodi' became one of the most popular sled dog names.

Dusty, Ralph, and Kirby's characters were based on Nikki, Kaltag, and Star from Balto (1995), respectively.

At one point in the movie, Star from Balto (1995) can be seen in an alley.

At one point in the movie, the terrier from Balto: Wolf Quest (2002) (V) can be seen in an alley.

Dusty's character design is based on Kiche from White Fang (1997) (V).

In the film's original script, Kodi does not help rescue Balto. Phil Weinstein pitched the idea of Steele being the one who volunteers to go help Balto on the rescue since, in the original draft, Kodi wouldn't go. Phil thought it would be interesting for Balto and Steele to be out alone together. The E.D.A.S. dog alert sequence was added, and the flashbacks to Kodi as a puppy were added in Jenna's song "You Don't Have to Be a Hero". The opening song visuals originally told more of the story of Kodi, getting promoted from the dog in the back to the front. Also, the opening scene began with a postman addressing a letter, we follow the letter as it gets sorted, then bagged in a sack, then placed on a sled to get delivered. There are some elements of this in the final version. The close-up of the letter stamped "AIR MAIL" at the end of the movie was just a pay-off for what was set up in the beginning. The ice bridge sequence was also added.

In an opening scene, Rosy, Balto, and Jenna can briefly be seen huddled around a small fire.

'Kodiak' (Kodi's full name) is one of the most popular Siberian Husky names. 'Kodi' is also a popular human name.

Has multiple computer-assisted scenes.

"You think your job is worth more than a life?" is said twice throughout the movie, once by Jenna and once by Balto.

Phil Weinstein wanted more Dusty/Ralph scenes in the movie, but could only add a couple due to time constraints.

The black-and-white birds that get out of the way of Duke's plane when he's flying are Arctic terns.

Again, this isn’t during the time period of the last story. This is before the actual Balto movie. This story is long.

UNSC database: We need 6 dogs to become ODST’s.
Nome: Alright, we have 6 dogs in mind, we will send them up.
UNSC database: Thank you.
Nome: Why are we using telegraphs when we have cell phones?
UNSC database: I don’t know.
“Hey, Nikki, Star, Kaltag, you’re coming with me to become ODST’s!” Steele yelled.
“You know Balto’s coming too right?” Kaltag said.
“Are you serious!?”
“Yes, so is Jenna.”
“Sweet!”
Steele howled for a call for Balto.
“Dude,...
