okay so what you said made alot of sense. but it's a tv show! it's not supposed to be like reality! naley is perfect. no doubt about it. but leyton is supposed to give us hope. that no matter what happens two people that have always had their lives intertwined will be together. there's a reason that lucas wrote a whole freakin novel on a comet. it's because he loves peyton and that was how he showed it. you say that lindsay was right about lucas's conflicted heart, and you know why it's so conflicted? it's because he's trying to move on from peyton but his heart isn't letting him because it knows who he's supposed to be with and that's peyton. and the whole innuendo thing? (btw great word i had to dictionary.com it)it's like you said, brooke was only brought back into the picture for the sake of the cliffhanger, nothing more. i believe in leyton, but i don't know if the writers do too. i seriously think he called lindsay. i mean, think about it. brooke was expecting a call to see how angie to see how she was doing now that she had gone back to her country, and peyton was expecting a call that mia met on tour that knew peyton's mother. lindsay was not expecting a call! and she had just realized that she still loves lucas and she confessed to him about lying about seeing somebody else. so, most of the evidence points to lindsay. it's sad, but true. well i hope i might have kinda sorta convinced you to see how leyton is more perfect than ross&rachel. byebye(:
MY RESPONSE…ksoccerchik100-
1. I respect your comment, and agree, it is a TV show. But as you said Leyton is supposed to give hope, that no matter what happens two people that have always had their lives intertwined will be together. I get that. It's why I loved Ryan/Marissa (OC) so much. This difference in Leyton to me though is the factor of completeness and chemistry. IMO they lack these two very vital concepts of love. Both those aspects that made RM so strong IMO are represented to a greater extent in Brucas. Additionally, I think a case can be made on their behalf regarding that hope. After all, it seems like their lives have been intertwined just as much, if not more after HS, (NYC book signing, Angie) Those dreams were shared together. I think there’s a lot if not more hope in that and their S5 than with Leyton’s.
2. Now the comet. I have to disagree. Not only have none of us read it front to back, but what we have heard sounds very little like Peyton, or Leyton. He has repeatedly said it was "just a comet" even if I don't want to give him the benefit of the doubt in this case, bc I don't believe it, I think sub consciously he is representing an ideal of all the lovely ladies in his life. For the purpose of his novel, IMO he just envisioned the idea, but in reality (TV show, Lucas Scott reality of course) its fiction, plain and simple.
3. His conflicted heart is obviously, 6.01, more conflicted than he is willing to admit, but point blank there are 3 women who he has truly loved, and 3 women who have his heart. You can't choose whom you love, and Luke always tries to reason with his feelings, it just doesn't work. If you are right, and it is the repression of his Leyton love that has caused him the anxiety and conflicted heart we've seen so dramatically in S5, more power to him. I guess he finally managed to reason with his heart. But I don’t buy it, IMO, its an impossible task, and he has just once again set himself up for disaster by choosing Peyton, let alone ANYONE, to elope with him in Vegas.
4. After seeing 6.01, I am more confident than ever that Brooke was not just a pawn in the finale cliffhanger. My "queen of hearts" comment reflects that if you so wish to read it…I hope you will.
Lastly, thank you for you comment. Congrats are in order I suppose, because well he did choose your girl Peyton. I can't say that you convinced me of anything, bc as you can see I believe in Brucas very strongly, to the end. I do however, support your belief in Leyton, and hope that you understand that in responding to your comment, and making it a soapbox, I am only trying to challenge it a bit, not dismiss it by any means. All are entitled to their own opinion. If I may ask though, please read my article Keep the Faith--Why I second that motion. Tell me honestly, from a Leyton perspective how you view the subtle hints embedded in 6.01. Please feel free to comment on any points I may have neglected. Especially, in regards to Ross/Rachel…I never got on that bandwagon.
