A relationship of equals
A relationship of equals
I sat with my sister one day, watching Lord of the Rings, when this came to me.

I had just gotten into a heated debate with one of my friends. When I gave my calm, simple, honest opinion about Twilight, she started yelling at me, telling me, "You just don't understand Kassie, you just don't understand. You just don't know..." and so on and I wanted to smack her.

Well, as we watched the Fellowship of the Ring, I realized that Aragorn did the same thing as Edward in New Moon.

Now, before any Aragorn lovers out there start yelling at me, let me explain!

I realized I didn't hate Aragorn for leaving...

It seems that nowadays when people mention the words ‘Twilight’, ‘Edward’ or ‘Stephenie Meyer’ a huge debate is formed. People are split completely down the middle with their love or hate of the twilight saga, everything seen as either black or white. So here is an opinion from one of the few stuck within the grey area (like, dislike and don’t care either way). Rip this opinion to shreds, love it or hate it. Tell the world how much twilight rocks, sucks or takes the complete piss out of teenage romance. But please remember this is my opinion and seeing as this place is all about...

I've seen yet another comment saying people who thought the Edward/Bella relationship was abusive have either not read the book or have simply 'misunderstood' it, and am completely losing my ability to politely respond when I hear that, so I'm writing this so in future I don't even have to respond, I can link to here and avoid the risk of snapping and going on an all caps rant. I'm pointing out at the start that I'm not accusing all Twilighters of this, there are lots of Twilight fans on the spot who are able to give their opinion in a pleasant, grown up way, and I really appreciate that (virtual...

Okay most of the Twilight- Haters would say that Edward is too old for Bella and that make him paedophile but I don't think so (not only because I am twilight fan) is because that Edward is literally 17 and he feels and thinks as a 17 year old. I mean take someone you know is really smart that doesnt mean they are have lived any longer than you have they just learnt more in the years they have lived. I bet you they still act their age.
To be quite honest I know a programme that is aired in India as well as here where the Guy is at least 55 years old with 5 kids three of them older than the girl...

"Tidy" is an unusual word for me, but I felt if I used "clean" it would be interpreted as another warning against mudslinging and immaturity.

What I mean is, I see a lot of repeated content on this spot. Particularly images. Most of the time, I don't comment on it, because if I like to point out a repeated image, I also like to link to the original image in that spot. Unfortunately, I'm generally too lazy to do a search because the vague keywords being attatched to our images don't make our search bar very helpful.

So consider this an appeal from an anal-retentive credit-crazy keyword queen:...

This article is not meant to offend. It is mostly comedy and uses examples from more fandoms then just Twilight. There will also be examples that tak lyke dis and capslock. So be careful when reading.

I'm sure we are all familiar with a fangirl. (Or fanboy, but they are different and we will not be discussing them today.) Put simply, fangirls are very, very, VERY big fans of something. Twilight fangirls are obsessed with Twilight and will probably have as much Twilight merchandise as possible. A Bangel fangirl may eat you in your sleep if you are a hardcore Spuffy shipper, and a fanpop fangirl...

I saw a review of the new Twilight movie, and in a generally negative review one thing said in defence of the movie was that Bella doesn't dress like a skank (paraphrased) and she just looks like a normal girl, which was called a good message as they felt it's healthier for girls to see Bella/Kristin Stewart on screen than someone like Angelina Jolie. That on top of the fact that I keep hearing people say in defence of Twilight 'well at least it sends tweens a good message concerning not having sex too soon' since Edward refuses for a long time, and pretty much all they seem to do is touch...

I bought this book for my sister and have not read it yet but it looks hilarious.
This is just the blurb, but its really funny and I thought you would all apereciate it.

About three things I was absolutely certain. First, Edwart was most likely my soul mate, maybe. Second, there was a vampire part of him–which I assumed was wildly out of his control–that wanted me dead. And third, I unconditionally, irrevocably, impenetrably, heterogeneously, gynecologically, and disreputably wished he had kissed me.

And thus Belle Goose falls in love with the mysterious and sparkly Edwart Mullen in the Harvard...

LOL. Revamped. Get it? 'Cause like, Twilight has vampires and stuff... [/lame]

Okay, the Momcat has FINALLY gotten off her fat, lazy butt and done some much-needed work on some of the rules for our spot. When the spot first got started, it was fairly small and having wiggle-room wasn't such a problem; so my first batch of rules weren't all that specific. But our CAT has had many, many new kittens since then, and consequently, things have gotten crazier and messier. A lot of people have gotten confused about what this place is for, and what we're about. The CAT isn't what it used to be.

So hopefully,...

I found this online. It's a real conversation a bookstore employee apparently had with a Twilight fan. It didn't happen to me. I found it funny, thought you guys might too.

(A customer in her late teens approaches me in the bookstore.)
Customer: “Hey, do you guys sell the Twilight books?”
Me: “Yes, they’re right over there.”
Customer: “Have you read them?”
Me: “Yes, I have.”
Customer: “Didn’t you just LOVE them?!”
Me: “Well, actually, they aren’t really my type of book, so–”
Customer: *suddenly furious* “Are you f***ing serious?! These are the best books ever written! I’m going to tell Edward to come and bite you and drink all your blood!”
Me: *backing away* “Have a nice day, ma’am…”
I ran into a post on Feministing, called "link". It asserts that New Moon problematically depicts Quileutes as naturally abusive because of the werewolf thing, which is racist against Native Americans. The post describes how domestic violence is a serious problem in Native American communities, and New Moon makes it seem like Native Americans are naturally abusive. I find the post heavily flawed, and offer this as my response.

Feministing blogger Ann Friedman's thesis is that New Moon portrays domestic violence in Native American peoples as inherent, in their DNA, and that it's problematic as...

Rightio, it's been a while since I wrote an article and my best friend recently told me something that shocked me beyond belief.

She was walking through our local town centre in a 'Team Jacob' t-shirt, and a random girl she didn't even know just walked up to her, punched her and called her numerous swear words just because her shirt didn't say 'Team Edward'.

This really opened my eyes to how violent Twilight series 'fans' can be. It's not acceptable to punch someone in the face if they've done something, let alone because they have a different opinion on something.

Since then she's been to scared...

Bwahahaha! Welcome, little people! *cues scary pipe organ music* Yes, the C.A.T.’s out of the bag. It’s true. There are people in existence who do NOT worship the ground the Stephenie Meyer walks on. But before all you Twi-hards get mad about it and report us, let me tell you what this spot is NOT. Twi-haters, this applies to you as well, so listen up.

This is not an anti spot. (Read that sentence twice, please.)

We are not here to bash Stephenie Meyer or her fans, nor are we here to hate Twilight for the sake of hating it. That’s just as stupid (if not more so) as obsessing over Twilight...

So a while back I wrote link article explaining why I had decided to leave Twilight behind me. A lot of the comments swayed me, but I stuck to my decision. But then, I got ill. Again. Which meant a lot of time at home, being bored out of my head. Bearing in mind I hadn't read Twilight in months, it wasn't the first book on my mind to say the least.

But I decided to re-read it and see if my opinion on it had changed. For those who don't know, which will be the majority who read this, since March last year I've suffered from a viral infection, like glandular fever/mono and it's come back with...

People making claims about Twilight is really beginning to grate on my nerves D; Not statments of opinion; the kind of claims I'm talking about don't begin with "I think". They are claims, stated as fact.

An example of a statement of opinion might be "I think Twilight is awful". An example of a claim might be "Twilight is awful". Or, conversely "I think Twilight is perfect/Twilight is perfect".

The problem with these kinds of claims is that they are completely subjective. You can't make an objective claim like "Twilight is awful/perfect" based on opinion, it doesn't make sense :(

So the amendment I propose is simple: begin statements of opinion with "I think", or whatever variation on this is appropriate (if any). Is that fair enough? :) I know many of you already do this, but just as a reminder to the few who don't.

Hello again :)

This is my latest 'rant' about Twilight etc.
Not gonna be as good as the other ones, it's just basic notes really because this idea popped into my head as soon as I woke up. So also sorry for any mistakes made, as i'm half asleep ^_^

I'm all for trailers, as they give you a taster of the film, but this will be the 4th New Moon trailer. Surely in all these trailers we'll be able to see most of the film by now.

Also, there's the comic con clips that included the Volterra scene & motorcycle scene, and also all the pictures that have been released. I don't bother checking for new pictures anymore on the Twilight series spot because it's gonna completely ruin the film, when you've seen all the press pictures and everything.

For most films, there's a couple of teaser trailers, a main cinematic trailer & a few press release pictures. Is this about New Moon getting special treatment? Since when was New Moon the most important film out? :/

Somewhere in the world right now there is a girl.

She is sitting on her bed crying because her boyfriend told her she couldn't see her good friend. He erased her e-mail from her contacts, he keeps them apart in school hallways and classes and he took her drivers liscence so she can't drive to her house. Her boyfriend is always with her. They are barely seen apart if they can be together, often alone. He decides where she goes and the only compliments he ever tells her is "your beautiful", "you're a clutz".

To write Twilight, to pass that (above) off as love is unfair to that one girl who is sitting on her bed, crying.

Twilight ROCKS!
This article is not an opinion, fan-fiction, list, review, or guide. This is.....
A TRAGEDY.
Ooooookay. I CANNOT BELIEVE how many stupid PEOPLE joined this club. (Well, a small part of the members are Twilight fans wanted to give you guys a smack in the face.... Which I cheer on!) But all you guys do is insult Twilight. Have you guys actually read the books or seen the movies? I THINK NOT!
Author's Note: Hey, you guys said it doesn't matter what team you're on, so on behalf of Twilight Fans, I'm writing this article to guess who... YOU!
TIP FOR BOYS:
If you're a boy, and you don't like Twilight,...
