A broad majority in the Parliament agreed in February this year to the next major windmillpark must be ready to produce power in 2012. It will consist of about 100 giant wind turbines, which will provide 400 MW of power. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of power in no fewer than 400,000 households.
Everything points to Djursland
An expert committee under the Danish Energy recommends the location between Djursland and Anholt.
-- We should put wind turbines, where costs are at least where they generate the fewest people and where it is easiest to connect them to the grid. It seems that the area by Anholt and Djursland is the best location, says several politicians.
SF will be a step further
Anne Grete Holmsgaard from SF also supports the location next to Djursland. But she hopes that the parties can agree to prioritise the next several wind farms.
Energy experts point to the Horns Rev at the west coast of Jutland, where there is already a large wind farm. A park south of Læsø will also be interesting if we manage to take account of nature. From there it will be easy to share power with Norway and Sweden.
Anne Grete Holmsgaard believe that Kriegers Flak, an area between Møn and Sweden, high up the list.
-- There will we be able to get a very large windmillpark, and we could build on the deeper water than usual. But it requires co-operation between Denmark, Germany and Sweden, which we must start now, "said Anne Grete Holmsgaard.
