Chapter 11: Saved

The next morning Frollo acted like nothing happened and continued his search for the gypsy girl he knew that wherever she was Belle surely would be they came to small home with a windmill outside the city the people gathered around saying that Frollo had gone mad and that he had never harmed anyone Esmeralda noticed all the commotion and figured that Pheobus would surely be here she had to warn him of Frollo both were inside the house talking with the homeowners "We found this gypsy talisman on your property have you been harboring gypsies?", "Our home is always open to the weary traveler have mercy my lord" the father begged kneeling in front him "I'm placing you and your family under house arrest until I get to the bottom of this if what you say is true and you are innocent then you have nothing to fear", "But we are innocent i assure you we know nothing of these gypsies" the father said as Frollo and Pheobus walked out sealing the door shut with a spear.
"Burn it!", "What" "Until it smolders these people are traitors and must be made examples of" climbing on his horse Frollo handed a torch to Pheobus "With all due respect sir I was not trained to murder the innocent", "I'm glad you think so guards grab him!", "What no let of me!" he struggled as guards surrounded him every which way there were to many to fight off "Such a pitty really you had such a promising career but your just as much of a traitor as much as them being hypnotized by that witch you see captain i'll let you in on a little secret its not the gypsy i'm after its Belle", "Belle" Pheobus cringed "What could you possibly want with her she's done nothing she's innocent", "Innocent she most certainly is not Captain that girl is guilty guilty of witchcraft and as judge it is my duty to rid the world of evil oh don't look so hopeless Captain once I find her she still has chance to live", "What do you mean once you find her?", "Last night she escaped from the palace fortunately I know just where to find her", "IF YOU TOUCH HER I'LL" one of the guards smacked him the head with a sword before her could finish "Or you'll what kill me? I was thinking not if I kill you first and don't worry Captain I'll tell Belle goodbye for you lock him up with the others and burn it!", "Yes Frollo" replied one of the soilders.

The soldiers threw Pheobus's unconscious body into the house and began to up in flames the family anxiously screamed for help while trying to wake Pheobus "Someone please help us", "Oh please wake up", "Help us" the smell of the fire suddenly woke him they were surrounded he quickly grabbed the two children and kicked down the door with what little strength he had left safe outside he handed the children to there parents "What no! he escaped guards finish him while he's still weak" Pheobus was becoming surrounded with Frollo watching he was just close enough that Pheobus could make an escape quickly Esmeralda grabbed a rock and using her scarf she threw it at the horse's rear end like a sling shot cause the horse kicked off Frollo Pheobus punched what few guards he could out of his way and quickly grabbed the reigns pulling himself onto the saddle. "Get him you idiots! and don't hit my horse" cried Frollo his men firing arrows at Pheobus as he rode across the bridge swarming him like flies then suddenly one came at an angle hitting him in the shoulder causing him to fall of the horse over the bridge into the canal the men fired arrows into the water as Esmeralda made her way down to the waters edge hiding behind the columns "Don't waste your arrows let that traitor rot in his watery grave find that gypsy girl she's the key to my plan if you have to burn the city to the ground so be it" cried Frollo. Once the coast was clearr Esmeralda took and deep breath and drove into the cold canal after Pheobus she reached the bottom seeing him weighed down like an anchor from his heavy armor she was running out of breath and quickly she removed his armor as fast as she could making him easier to carry as headed up to the surface taking a big gasp of air as she dragged him with all her strength to shore she had to get help.
