Disney Princess Article: Top 10 Disney Princess MOVIES!

Ok, so I'm only going to list my top 10 not all of the movies, so sorry about that. Anyways, please keep in mind that this is my opinion, and we might disagree on a lot of things, anyways, enjoy the article! :)

10. Brave

I do like this movie, but it felt kind of unoriginal. It had elements that other movies had and didn't have a "wow that was great!" factor to it. The villain is my least favorite of all the Disney Princess villains, and one of the worst Disney villains as well. How could Mordu possibly be a main antagonist? Sure, his Tory had importance, but did he? Not really. However, there are things I like about the movie. I love Merida, she's my 3rd favorite Disney Princess, and I really like the songs in the movie.it didn't really feel like a pixar movie. It felt more like, well, I don't even know, like some new movie studio had made it. It was decent, but it didn't have that impact on me that made me tell everyone how much I love it.

9. Pocahontas

This movie is widely considered to be the WORST Disney Princess movie, but I can't really see it. I really like the movie, the animation is impressive, the characters are good, and the songs are great. Sure, it's historically inaccurate, and sure, the critics hated it, but I liked it. I wouldn't say it was one if the best Disney Movies, but I thought it was good. I really enjoyed the movie, the best parts about the movie, in my opinion, were the animation and the songs. They were both fantastic! The reason it's not higher up is because the others have better characters.

8. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

So, a bunch of people probably don't even think it should be in the top 10, I know that a lot of people here at fanpop criticize it, and I understand that, the movie has its flaws and boring moments, the animation isn't phenomal (but hey it was made in the 1930's) and nobody really seems to like Snow White. But I really like it! For the time, the animation is great! I really like Snow White and I don't think people like her as much as they should. I like The Evil Queen, and I don't really think people like her as much as they should either. Sure, the movie had its boring moments, but there's not that many movies out thee where I can't point out AT LEAST one flaw! I really like this movie but the others are less boring. (Yes I do think it IS kind of boring, but just a little bit.)

7. Aladdin

Hm, I wonder what peoples opinions are going to be on this, form that Worst Disney Princess Movie poll it seems it's kind of mixed. I really like this movie though, (and yes of you read my DP lists before this moved down a lot, I rewatched it last night and don't like it as much as I used to.) I think it's great though. The animation is good, I like the characters (especially Aladdin), and I like the song. I think the villain is good too but I don't like him that much. My favorite character as I just mentioned is Aladdin, and my favorite song is 'A Whole New World'. I really love that song and it's one of my favorites. But I'm not a huge fan of Jasmine, and like I said earlier, I don't really like Jafar that much. It's not higher because, well I just said it, because of Jafar and Jasmine.

6. Cinderella

Ok, so Cinderella is one of my favorite Disney Princesses, but too bad, she's not in my top 5 Disney Princess movies, sorry fir her. I love this movie, I really do. Like with Snow White, it has it's boring moments, (Though not as many) and it has it's flaws. The animation is nice, but it's nothing compared to a lot of the movies on this list, in fact, this and Sleeping Beauty have the worst animation of the Disney Princess movies, (In my opinion.) but I love this movie, I love Cinderella, and I think Lady Tremaine is great villain. (unlike most people do.) I also love Prince Charming. However, the others have better animation and are just better I think.

5. Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast you caught a lucky break, because you almost didn't make it into the top 5! As some of you may know from my DP lists article, this movie was number 7 on there, but now I enjoy it more. (And I only posted that article one day ago. Wow.) Anyways, I'm going to talk about what I dislike first. I'm not a huge fan of Belle. I really like her, but she's not among my favorites. Also, I don't really like Beast, I like him even less than Belle. I don't really like many of the other characters either. Even though I don't really like the characters that much, similar to Pocahontas, I love the animation and the songs. There's just so many great songs and the animation is absolutely FANTASTIC! Anyways, it's not higher up because of the characters.

4. The Princess and the Frog

Sorry, Princess and the Frog, you almost made it into the top 3, but you didn't. So, let's talk about what I don't like. Naveen. He's my least favorite Disney Prince and I don't like him, he's just so annoying, and selfish, and a lot of people only love him for his looks. Anyways, I don't really hate that much about the movie, but the plot has a few flaws that should have been checked before they released the movie. I really like Tiana, and I like a lot of the other characters as well. The animation is great as well, and I really liked that they returned to the 2D animation, although I'm fine with computer animation too. The reason it's not higher is because my top 3 are just absolutely amazing, and in my opinion, unbeatable.

3. The Little Mermaid

The movie is just so amazing on so many levels, I love all the characters, I love the animation, I love the plot, I love the villain. There's hardly anything I dislike about the movie. Ariel is one of my favorite Disney Princesses, Eric is one of my favorite Disney Princes, and I really like Ursula. I like that it's under the sea, I think it's a cool setting, and having a mermaid for a main character is awesome too. The animation is great, (not as great as Beauty and the Beast or Princess and the Frog) but still great. The reason it's not higher is just because these last two are in my top 3 Disney Movies.

2. Tangled

I love this movie SO MUCH! I love EVERY single thing about it! Rapunzel is my favorite Disney Princes (for now) and I really like Flynn. Mother Gothel is a great villain, in my opinion she's the best of the newest Disney Princess movies, (Dr. Facilier, Mother Gothel, and Hans) and I even love the songs, which everybody seems to hate. I also really like Maximus and Pascal, especially Pascal, I also think that the movie received too much criticism from people, but continue criticizing it if you want to, I still love it. It's not higher because I just ADORE number one beyond MEASURE!

1. Mulan

I love this movie it's AMAZING! Mulan is my second favorite Disney Princess (for now) and she's so awesome and epic. I like Li Shang, and Shun Yu is okay. I ADORE the songs! They're great! Mushu is hilarious, and I love the other characters as well. It's funny and awesome at the same time! This is my favorite Disney Princess movie, DEFINITELY! I love it with a passion and it's in my top 2 Disney Movies! :D

Persephone713 Very interesting you make alot of good points that I agree with. Some I would put Higher but as you nicely pointed out we all have our own lists/ opinions and no one person is the same- GOOD JOB!

Winxclubgirl202 I loved Mulan when I was kid, it was really the only DP movie I would watch other than The Little Mermaid. I don't agree with some placing but great list.

MalloMar Nicely done. Aw, no SB? Oh, well. I agree with the Pocahontas part.. It's underrated, and quite beautiful, and enjoyable. I adore Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. And I feel like it gets some love on Fanpop, but not much outside of Fanpop. And I actually don't find it boring. <3 I love Aladdin (the character), too. I'm happy to see Cinderella that high. It's not too popular on Fanpop. YAY Princess and the Frog. Amazing movie. The Little Mermaid deserves 3rd. Tangled, I've never been a big fan of, but I'm starting to appreciate it more. MULAN! <3 I have loved Mulan since the first time I watched it. Quite possibly my favorite DP movie.

iwasneverhere Hello, there! I liked reading this article! It was quite pleasant. Yes, I too, have some of the same issues with Brave as you have outlined. Merida is my #4 princess. I don't mention Mor'du because he almost--- almost has no reason to be in the story except tangentially. And don't get me started on Hans and Frozen. Yes. And YIKES. It was a critical darling for everyone, but for me it was one of Disney's worst. I'm glad Aladdin makes your top ten. People underrate that movie, and I will always love Robin Williams's Genie. I'm glad Pocahontas makes your top ten!!! I like that movie's music and it's animation gives Brave, Tangled, and Frozen a run for their money. Something about the scenes in Pocahontas have such a buoyant feel, and something is lost when it becomes 3D. Everything in 3D looks kind of rooted in place, and there is no overlay of screen shots, and the feeling of being transported is lost. I don't know how best to explain this. I'm so happy that someone sees some worth in Cinderella and Snow White. I wasn't so keen on them at first, but now--- because of The Princess and The Frog, Tangled, Brave, and Frozen--- it made me re-take stock of every DP movie ( and non DP movie that I watched) that Disney has put out. I'm now considering Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White better movies than TPATF and Frozen. ( Weird, I know). And, at least, Tangled captures some of the heart of Disney's soulful days of TLM and B&TB. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for having The Little Mermaid in your top ten and at #3. It's #2 for me, but I'm willing to accept any liking ( even miniscule) for the first princess who left the sea, and who launched the independent streak in all princesses for Disney. I love Tangled, too. It's my 3rd favorite DP movie, and 3rd favorite Disney movie overall. So that tells you what it tells you. Mulan. What can I say about my girl? Yes, she is not flashy, and she does not wear ball gowns, go to balls, cook meals, nor sing much, but she's a champion of perseverance. I will always root for my girl. Yes. That is my favorite DP movie, and favorite Disney movie. PERIOD. ( Too bad stuff with Mulan on it is as hard to find as a needle in a haystack, while Frozen is all over the place...) Anyway. Diazdiaz95 I liked your list, it is pretty different from mine. I completely agree with what you said about Brave. I actually love Snow White and her movie, I don't find it boring, but it's true that it's not that they aren't that popular in and outside of Fanpop unfortunately. I disagree most with Cinderella's placement since it's my least favorite because I find it pretty boring but it's nice to see it get some love. I love all the movies on this list except Cinderella (that I feel sort of neutral towards), Brave ( it's o.k. ), and Pocahontas ( which I like but mainly for nostalgic reasons). We have the same favorite DP movie! I love Mulan, ever since its release it has been my favorite. I love to see PaTF and Tangled so high, the only things that I think are weak about them are their soundtracks although they still have some nice songs and I love both of them. Aladdin, BaTB, and TLM are all great and magical films for me so I'm glad they made it into your top 10. We have the same films in our top 10, except for Cinderella since I have Frozen in my top 5, but in a different order. Nice article! Sorry for the long comment :)
