Disney Princess Article: Updated ranking of the DP movies

What I will write will be similar to what I wrote on the last article. Most of my opinions are the same except for Aladdin. I wanted to write an updated article because I finally rewatched Aladdin. Please no rude comments. Enjoy!

12. Brave- I despise this movie I really don't like Merida. While she may be a strong I think she is just rude and annoying. The film is so forgettable. I haven't seen the film in about 4 years and I don't plan on seeing it again.

12. Frozen- As many of you know, like Brave I detest this movie. The characters are very irritating & the movie was trying way too hard to be progressive. It was mocking the other Disney movies such as saying you can't marry a man you just met. Disney has been trying to break away from that stereotype for years. It's common sense to know you don't marry a person you just met. These films are fairytales for goodness sake! People take Disney movies too literally. I think Disney made Frozen for people who hate on Disney. Most people grow up & realize these films are just entertainment. Adults that spend time overanalyzing Disney movies just need to grow up & get a life. I thought Olaf was annoying & Kristof was just lame & gross, moving on.

10. The Princess & the Frog- I haven't seen this movie in 6 years but I don't memorable. I thought it was boring and the characters were annoying and I thought the soundtrack was awful and Tiana is just a snob IMO.

9. Cinderella- This movie just bores me to tears. I tried watching it again over the summer and I kept wanting to look at my phone. There is no action in this movie. The mice are extremely annoying & I don't like the soundtrack in this film. The only character I like is Cinderella herself, I don't care for any of other characters in this movie.

8. Aladdin- This movie is the reason why I am writing an updated article of my ranking of the DP films. I'm not a big fan of this movie. This film is just too cheesy for my taste. The soundtrack is annoying and most of the characters are annoying. Jasmine has movie down on my list, I will explain more in my updated DP article. Aladdin just bugs me, he is so rude & arrogant. I didn't like how he treated the Genie & his excessive lying. This is a film I have to be in the right mood for.

7. Pocahontas- This movie is very bland. I haven't watched this film since high school & when the last time I watched it, I couldn't even finish it. I don't remember this film very well because it's been so long since I have watched it & I don't plan on watching it again. Most of the characters were forgettable & boring. Pocahontas herself while not a bad character, I don't find her memorable.

6. Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs- I keep changing my mind about this movie. While I respect the historical aspect of this movie, I just can't get into it. It is a shallow reason but Snow White's voice really annoys me. I don't like the soundtrack & the Dwarfs are annoying. I appreciate that this is the 1st full length Disney movie but it's just not a movie I watch on my own time.

5. Mulan- Not a bad movie by any means but not a spectacular one either. I like the idea of the girl being hero but it's not enough for me to put the film any higher. The soundtrack wasn't that great IMO & Mushu annoyed me. I think Disney was trying to please extreme feminists when they were making this film. Mulan had to act like a man to be strong, not the best message for girls IMO. This film lacks the romance & magic of the other Disney movies.

4. Sleeping Beauty- Now to the DP films I love! Many people complain how this film is boring but I don't find it boring at all. People complain how this film focuses on the 3 fairies & not Aurora & Phillip but I don't think it's a bad thing. It's what helps this movie stand out from Snow White & Cinderella IMO. I think if you look at the film through the fairies point of view, I find this film compelling. The fairies are so fun to watch that I don't care about Aurora's or Phillip's development. This movie gets a tongue of flack from feminists but they don't seem to tack into account that the fairies are the ones that drive the plot. Without the fairies half of the events wouldn't have happened in the movie. Honestly this film IMO is more feminist than Maleficent, don't even get me started on that movie!

3. Tangled- When I 1st watched this film I was not wild about it but after rewatching it last year, I fell in love with this movie! IMO this movie was Disney's best film since Beauty & the Beast. I love everything about this film! Rapunzel is a fun & likeable character. Pascal is so adorable & Maximus is a riot! Flynn was a cool character. I just love this movie!

2. Beauty & the Beast- This is not only one of the best Disney movies ever created but one of the best movies period. I can't even describe how amazing this movie is! The soundtrack, the story pretty much everything is spectacular. Belle & the Beast are fantastic characters. IMO while, this film is not my number one DP film, I think it is the best DP movie.

1. The Little Mermaid- I'm sure for who those who know me well on here, it is not a shock that The Little Mermaid is my favorite DP film. I have loved this film since I was 8 years old! The Little Mermaid is the film that got me to love Disney. The soundtrack, Ariel, Sebastian, & Ursula are amazing. I think the only flaw in this movie is that Flounder & Scuttle are annoying but I love everything else about this movie!

It's also awesome you have Beauty & the Beast & Sleeping Beauty in your top 4 & you have Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs & Mulan in your middle 4 & you have PATF & Brave in your bottom 4. laylastepford Well yours and anukriti2409's Favorite DP Film articles have inspired me to do one of my own so you'll learn more about my opinion and what else we have in common. The first time I saw Brave I thought it was really boring and I couldn't stand Merida. Then I realized that I didn't really give the movie it's day in court so I watched it not too long ago and it made me reassess what I thought about it. Merida is surprisingly more feminine than other people give her credit for, especially considering how much they hail her as a feminist princess. I did the same thing with Princess and the Frog only my opinion of it got worse. I am somewhat of a "cheesy" person, I guess you could say. I love mid-western type humor with puns and hardy-har-hars. So I do love a lot of the cheesy Disney stuff to be honest. :) I LOVE the point you made about the female fairies in Sleeping Beauty driving the plot. They're feminists though so they're prone to lies, manipulation and hypocrisy. ;) I agree with everything you said about Beauty and the Beast as well. :)

laylastepford I agree with you. :D Feminists don't see a strong woman unless they are specifically labeled as "feminist" too and don't say anything against any feminists or their false statistics etc.

laylastepford I mean unless a woman actually calls herself a "feminist" and proactively lies and pretends that the feminists don't lie about their statistics, then the feminists will never accept her as "one of them". Does that make more sense?

laylastepford ^ They definitely did. They've been doing that since the 1990s though, really. There was a big feminist "girl power" movement in the 1990s in America. If you don't believe me, just look up how many girl power shows and movies came out in that time that were super big. First thing that comes to mind would be Xena. (I loved that show by the way but it's still an example of feminist propaganda.) I completely agreed with what you said about Mulan and the army and by the way, most women who have joined the army end up going on TV or writing or making speeches and tell women not to join because they didn't realize what it was really going to be like (as they underestimated it by thinking they were equal to men even though they're actually not physically) and many women who do join, end up with infertility.

disneymagic93 I'm aware of the "girl power" movement in the 90s. I'm a guy but I wouldn't even join the army. Did you ever watch Charmed or Buffy? I think those a girl power shows as well.

laylastepford ^ Agreed! I did actually watch both of those shows and I agree with you. They are both girl power shows. Like you, I don't mind the little girl power stuff as long as it's balanced. I think balance is the key to just about everything in life.

laylastepford ^ Hmm... Never thought of gender roles in Tangled. I was far too upset at the Eugene/Rapunzel relationship. It bothers me immensely that Eugene took her to a bar full of criminals. I think too realistically to pass that one off as "Disney movie" stuff. That only applies to fairy godmothers and magic spells to me.

disneymagic93 @Anii147 I only dislike Pocahontas, Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Brave, & Frozen. I don't dislike Mulan but it's not my favorite. My top 5 Disney movies are 1. The Little Mermaid 2. Beauty & the Beast 3. Tangled 4. Sleeping Beauty 5. Lady & the Tramp

Interview with the characters from Disney's Snow White

I recently got to sit down with the characters of Disney’s Snow White and interviewed them using questions from their fans. The Evil Queen and the Huntsman ghosts were even allowed to leave Purgatory for this grand event. Doc came as the spokesman of the Dwarfs so that the others could stay in the mines and work. 10.Snow White
Honestly, I don't see how the beautiful queen is jealous of her. I don't even see how she's prettier than the queen. Sure, she's cute, but not beautiful or anything. Her nose is much too pudgy and her eyes sometimes look a bit odd, like too squinty. She's got nice hair, but I think it's a bit too short. Also, unlike other princesses, she's barely hit puberty yet. That doesn't help her image.

This time around, Mulan is not listed - although the movie overall is very down to earth, there is a little bit magic, mainly Mushu's transformation from stone into flesh. But those sequences are too short to be considered here.

Princess and the Frog: There is a lot of magic going on in Princess and the Frog – but since the magic of Facilier belongs into the category villain song, only the transformations at the very end (Ray to star and Tiana and Naveen into humans) will be taken into account here. And it’s at the bottom of the list for a simple reason: They are not memorable....

Why is Raflynnzel my favorite DP couple.

Being the last day of the month (and being the last day of Rapunzel's month, I decided to write this article about my favorite Disney Princess couple. Flynn and Rapunzel.

This is my first article (it will be short as it is my first attempt to write one), give your opinion (Please, don’t be rude).

It’s about the main reason why I love them so much.

Its about the way on how they start their “relationship”.

It wil be written under the pictures as I'm still new on this writing thing.

Meeting for the first time

First from arguing and trying to get their own dreams come true (Flynn wanting to be rich with the crown and get his island; and Rapunzel wanting to go to see the lanterns).

Next on how, they start the adventure by going into the pub

and running away from Maximus, the soldiers

and the Stabbington brothers.

Then, on how they went to trusting each other and telling their stories and secrets. Flynn telling his reasons and life

Rapunzel showing him the power of her hair and healing him.

The moment when they spent time together at least for a while (in the kingdom).

My favorite scene when they realize they’re falling in love. I love that scene because of the way Flynn and Rapunzel look at each other;

and the way on how the lanterns and the music gives a romantic atmosphere.

And finally watching how much they love the other one. Rapunzel was going to give up her freedom for him and Flynn was going to give his life for her.

Although, everything happened in short time (One or two nights), it shows how the relationship went from pursuing one dream to a new life, a new dream and finding love .
