Wow I am way late on this article hahaha.

For this movie I'm going to compare it a little to the original Sleeping Beauty and treat it as a standalone film. So for this movie and for the other remakes I'm going to not only talk about what I've been talking about for the animated movies, I'm going to compare the remakes to the originals while trying not to judge it for being not as good as the original.

Tonight's rewatch: Maleficent
Last time watched: Summer of 2014

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I kinda liked it when I saw it in theaters but when I watched it again on dvd a couple months later I didn't like it anymore. I liked some of the new ideas put into it but I hated what happened to the characters, especially the Good Fairies.

How much of this movie have I forgotten:
The child actress who played young Maleficent was so...eh. And the creatures of the forest really had a little girl fly off to deal with a possibly dangerous human? The creatures apparantly have no idea how to take care of children, especially the fairies who "raised" Aurora.

I almost forgot how cool the battle between humans and creatures was. It wasn't the battle in Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe but I still liked watching it. I just wish it hadn't been used so early in the movie or been over so quickly.

This isn't something I forgot but I want to say props to the movie for doing such a good job on the scene where Maleficent loses her wings. It's so incredibly heartbreaking and the symbolism is even more so and I love that it wasn't something just brushed aside and Angelina did a great job with her acting in that scene. This is going to be messed up but I was actually disappointed when she got her wings back. I don't know why I don't like it, I really just don't.

I forgot that when Maleficent took over as evil ruler of the forest she just...did it. She just decided to declare herself ruler and the creatures just went with it. I know she was respected before because she was the protector of the Moors but it still shouldn't have been that easy. And we don't see much of a difference in the Moors afterwards. When we do see the Moors after Maleficent takes over she's with Aurora and everything looks about the same and the creatures act the same except for maybe one or two of them actually being scared.

The fact that Maleficent was actually just improvising when doing her curse actually makes me laugh a little. I can't believe I forgot that little detail.

I forgot how much I liked the score in this film. There's a few scenes where the songs sound off or didn't work with the scenes themselves but I loved the music used for the ceremony for the baby

Old vs New:

In the original Maleficent placed a curse on Aurora because she wasn't invited to a party, in Maleficent she did it because Stefan betrayed her. I love that Maleficent was so petty in the original but I sorta liked this change.

As much as I liked Diaval's actor I wish the crow stayed a crow. Maleficent in the original clearly had a good bond with Diablo without him needing to be human.

I will forever be angry about how this movie ruined the Good Fairies. Yes, there were times where they didn't agree but in this movie they're so incredibly immature about it and they were so neglectful of Aurora. And I don't even understand how Stefan could have trusted the fairies in the remake with his daughter when they only just met and weren't friends like the fairies and Stefan were in the original. And the way they just brushed off her curse as her "only sleeping" and only cared about themselves when they had to find Aurora after she ran away was just such a slap in the face.

At first I hated the fact that Maleficent found the hidden cottage right away and was always watching over her but I actually like the idea of a dark fairy with horns being a mother-figure for this happy singing little girl. I didn't like Aurora's reasoning for why she thought Maleficent was her "Fairy Godmother" though, it felt a little cheap. To be honest if I was followed by some shadow my whole life I wouldn't be all smiley and assume they were a friend.

King Stefan becoming mad in this movie is another change I find interesting and actually like. King Stefan was a good character in the original but he doesn't leave as much impact as the Good Fairies did so that's why I'm not as angry about this change. When I first watched this movie I thought he was working on having an iron shield so he could protect his daughter later if the curse didn't work out but watching it now (with subtitles) he was more worried about himself.

Before rewatching the original I used to hate how smiley and constantly cheerful Aurora was in this movie but after watching the original I can see that this movie actually did her character right. That's how Aurora was in the original, she was a dreamer, she smiled, and she played with her friends. The only differences are that Aurora in the remake didn't sing and she didn't have as good of a relationship with the fairies like in the original.

The way the part where the fairies had Philip kiss Aurora while she was sleeping was even more lame than I remember. The fairies make Philip kiss Aurora only after finding out he's a prince when they knew the spell would be broken by true love's kiss, not a prince's kiss. It felt like this movie was trying to ruin the original's true love's kiss by going, "See? It wouldn't work because they barely knew each other!" when this movie actually missed the point. In the original Philip and Aurora had a real scene together, they danced and sung to each other and Philip escaped a castle and fought a dragon to save her. The Philip in this movie was just....there. I still liked Maleficent's forehead kiss being the kiss the woke her, at least.

I wish Maleficent turned into a dragon in this movie too but Diaval as a dragon looked so freaking amazing! I don't have an actual problem with it so I can't really complain about this one.

Movie:
Even without comparing this movie to the original there's some parts of the movie that annoy me, mostly the scenes with the fairies because they're such horrible characters. I might like this movie more if there were some better changes for it.

Rating: 2/10

How much has my opinion changed?
My opinion hasn't changed but I can at least look at this movie in a somewhat different light after watching Sleeping Beauty recently.

Would I watch it again?
Maaaaaaaaaaybe

Next movies will be Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World and CInderella :)

10 EDUCATED and CONSCIOUS (about PRINCESS BETROTHAL)

Aurora instantly not only understands the meanings of being betrothed and marrying a prince, thus showing she is knowledgeable/educated, but also, by her reaction, also consciousness of their importance.

Former Rankings.
Two things first:

A. I know everyone has different opinions on each princesses and where they should be listed. This is my list and you don't have to agree but I hope you enjoy and learn more about me.

B. I love all the princesses but someone has to come in last .Something you should know is when it comes to Disney and non-Disney movies, characters, ect. I am very optimistic, very rarely critical to find fault, and I take into account all movies (sequels, tv shows, clips, ect.) and books. I think it adds to form a more well rounded idea of the characters. I am also realistic and do know and...

11. Snow White

I just find her bland, uninteresting, boorish, and all of that. She may be sweet, cute, and kind, but to be honest, she was very forgettable and was a bit annoying. Little to no development. She also fucking took the broom while her animal friends did the toughest shit when cleaning the dwarves' place.

10. Cinderella

I absolutely love Cinderella, and she's a great dreamer. She worked hard, put up with the shit she was given, and her she was given a just reward. I wish I could but her higher on the list but I just like the other princesses a bit more.

dimitri_ and I decided to do a collab article together and I think we had a lot of fun doing it! Picture credit goes to dimitri_ and I wrote the article. I apologize if I ramble a bit more than dimitri_ does, she has more self control than I do lol. Let's get started with the lists :)

dimitri_: Pocahontas & John Smith
I think they are wrong for each other since Pocahontas is hard to match with and that they ''love'' each other way too much, it still feels rushed to me. John changed his entire point of view that he was raised with when Pocahontas sang "Colors of the Wind." It's just...

Since I am trying to make the Princess Of The Month more popular, this is another one of my ideas. In the end of each month I'll post articles, based on the countdowns for songs, hairstyles and outfits. There everybody will have the chance to discuss whether they agree with the results, what corresponded to their expectations, and what they wish would have been different!

Once again, I will be using pictures for my articles. A few months back I would have made a detailed explanation about each result, but since the recent changes, Fanpop has been acting really weird. And yes, I don't like the...

Chapter 2
It all started turning light again. Emily opened her eyes. She winced with pain. Her head was hurting like it just got hit with a frying pan. She heard birds chirping. They smell of pinecones was wavering over her nose.

"Your squishing me!"Scolded a voice.

Emily didn't know what that voice came from. She removed her hand from the grass, and there it was. A cricket dressed in a black suit with black velvet hat.

"You, you talk!"Cried Emily.

"Yes ma'm, I do. I have a lot to tell. So just listen,"Said the cricket.

"But first tell me your name," Emily Said.

A short fan-fiction I wrote in the English class, we where supposed to listen to three types of music and the 2nd time we listned to the particular music we had to write it down and for the three different short stories we had to use the same start sentence (I used "it was one of those days"), all my three stories are a bit DP inspiring, this fan-fiction came from that we listned to dramatic music so be prepared on that this fan-fiction is very dark. it isn't exactly like the original since I don't have the original story right infront of me, but as soon as I have the original one close to...

10. Tiana -- The Princess and the Frog
A lot of people like Tiana, and there are some redeeming qualities about her, but, I just don’t like Tiana. Maybe it’s because I really despise her prince, Naveen. Or maybe because I wasn’t that big of a fan of the plot of the story. I find myself to like Charlotte, her friend, better than Tiana. I don’t find myself liking her personality that...

It was dawn and all the daughters of Triton woke up.
"Good morning girls!" said Attina.
They all got up and got themselves ready to meet their father on the surface. Alana (as usual) took ages to get ready and packed all her beauty essentials in her bag.
"Ummm, Alana? Why do you have EVERY single bit of your, ummm, stuff in here?" asked Attina.
"Well, how else am I going to exfoliate my face and de- clog my pores? Alana said.
"Ummm, right." said Attina

The sisters swam up to the surface.

"Probably gushing over dinglehoppers and whatchemacallems!" Andrina said.
"Why d'ya ask Arista?" Attina asked.
"Nothing, I just really miss her," Arista cried

Well, Top Ten Lists are very popular here – but I decided to do it a little bit different, mostly because I don’t think that there is an infinitive list for me. It’s more that I like some movies and characters more and some I like less. So I put the movies in three categories: Top, Middle and Bottom.

My Three Bottom movies:

In general, I hate movies with plot holes – but concerning Disney Princess movies, I’m much more forgiving about logical lapses in the classic ones than in the ones from the Renaissance era onwards. Not because of nostalgia, but because the premise of those movies...

Hi guys, this is actually my personal review and opinion the Beauty and the beast sequel. If any of you guys want to comment about it, please voice it out.

First of all, I want to talk the movie overall. I didn't really like it because I felt that the animation was amateurish and cheap despite being a prequel. Especially the Beast and Belle because they were not like from the movie.

The music I have to say that it's not memorable, but there one song I actually like and it's As Long as There's Christmas. So there was no problem for me, the others were not as good as the original and no Alan Menken.

Not to forget, Forte was a little bit of a manipulative psychopath. Because if he doesn't want to be lock up. Then what's the point of preventing the Beast from loving Belle?

The movie itself is very scary and predictable, especially when Forte appears and with Tim Curry's voice. I would recommend you guys not to watch this movie for those who have NOT seen it!

Sir Peter's POV
I watched Adella, studying beside me. She was biting her lips, in concentration as she studied the book I had given her. Those rose red, kissable lips. I would have no chance to lay my lips on hers, she would soon be married to some prince.
I had loved her ever since I first began teaching her, when she was 14. She was just a young girl but her mind, beauty and attitude made me love her.
The light in her eyes when she handed me a essay or a poem she had written herself. Her beautiful face I would never get to touch.
I was madly in love, it seemed odd because of the age difference...

Chapter Two—Prince Pierre

Happily hurrying down the large stairs of the castle, Snow White carried her suitcase down the stairs, smiling, with her birds in her pocket. As she left the castle, she stated, “Follow the carriage if you want.” She was so happy, for she was going to see her prince again!
Snow White peered out the front door, and merrily declared “Oh, the carriage must be here!,” then she skipped down the front steps happily. Indeed, there were several carriages stationed out in front of the castle, and one of them had a banner...
