I used to give into the hype and I still like her but I've recently realized that she's not that strong or effective of a villain. I've never seen the Angelina Jolie live action movie and quite honestly I don't think I ever will. This is all based on the original Sleeping Beauty.

Now, Maleficent definitely has the classic villain personality (sinister, petty, arrogant) and aesthetic. (she can turn into a dragon, and green fire is cool) She's one of the most quotable and meme-able villains in all of Disney. In fact, I think she's the one who really perfected the look and feel of a "Disney Villain" within the classic era, but while she has the look and she definitely talks the talk, I don't think she really walks the walk.

When I look down the list of horrific things Disney villains have done, she kinda comes up a bit short. Ursula has enslaved dozens, Shan Yu has killed thousands, The Evil Queen, Tremaine and Gothel's have inflicted deeply traumatic abuse onto their respective princesses. Maleficent hardly does anything of that caliber. I mean Aurora had to live in seclusion because of her but that wasn't directly Maleficent's doing (actually it just made Aurora harder for her to find) and Aurora's living situation really isn't all that bad to be honest.

Maleficent's not really one for clever plots and scheming either, the closest thing to that is when she captures Phillip. Outside of that, she only ever manages to do stuff right whenever the fairies make a mistake. The reason her crow found where Aurora lived was because of Flora and Merryweather's pink/blue magic duel. Let's not forget it took her sixteen years to accomplish that one goal. And the only reason she finally got Aurora to prick her finger on the spindle is because the fairies stopped watching for a minute. Honestly, Ursula, Jafar and even Gaston seem more cunning than Maleficent.

Her magic doesn't seem all that effective either. In addition to the fact that her spells can easily be weakened and flat out thwarted by the fairies, even Aurora seemed to able to resist her mind control to some extent. Once Merryweather lightened the curse, Aurora was never in any real mortal danger. As for kidnapping and fighting Phillip, Maleficent did seem like a real threat in that instance but with the fairies' help, he pretty much resolved that problem rather quickly.

All of this really just brought me to the conclusion that as long as Flora, Fauna and Merryweather were around, everyone was pretty much safe from Maleficent's wrath. It's almost weird that the fairies are afraid of her, considering they hardly break a sweat dealing with her. I mean, even going off their stories about her, the worst thing she's ever done is....ruin their flowers? That just makes Maleficent sound more annoying rather than dangerous, and going off of what we actually see in the film, it seems fairly accurate.

"Mistress of all evil"? Mistress of pettiness or mistress of being a nuisance maybe, but I don't know about all evil. Don't get me wrong, she is an entertaining character, her charisma makes her fun to watch. Is she an actually intimidating and effective villain though? I don't think so.

VETERINARY SCIENCE MAJOR
Specialization: Small animals

Caring of animals

The family relationship of Cinderella and her animals (=the mice, the birds, dog Bruno, and horse Major) is shown throughout the movie. This is all not to say she treats the mice as humans, rather, she treats even the smallest animals with consideration. Thus, she acts lovingly towards them and isn’t going to allow any unfair suffering under her care - perfect for being a vet.

(And - needless to...

It is almost midnight, so I am going to apologize in advance for the weirdness and randomness that could possibly happen. This article has Anna and Elsa in it, hence there might be spoilers. Let's get started. ^-^

I want to like Snow as much as I do some of the others, but sometimes the super perky people, also known as Snow White, needs to calm her happy go lucky self dowwwn. I enjoy watching her somedays when I am sad, but otherwise she gets on my nerves.

You hear it all the time. Snow White is dumb, Cinderella is weak, Aurora is boring. These vague, sweeping generalizations that are constantly applied to the Classic Princesses. I rarely hear these claims for other Pre-Renaissance heroines. Would any one call Alice boring? Or Marian weak? Or Anita dumb? Why do we normally aim these accusations at the princesses?

Perhaps it's because we've been raised in a different era. An era that scorns femininity and regularly throws terms like slut and floozy at any girl that steps outside our narrow ideals of what a woman should be? Isn't that terrifyingly...

A Dingglehopper!
A Dingglehopper!
Hi everyone, it's been ages since I had written my last review! Anyway, today I am going to be writing the Little Mermaid review and what my younger brother name Prasert and I felt about this 2023 live action reboot!

The Storyline

While the majority of the story is the same, however there are a number of changes I felt that it filled the plot hole of the 1989 film to which we all grew up with. Like we get to see the backstory of Triton and Ursula relationship as siblings, which was the original idea for the 1989 animated film.
Prasert and I were surprised to see Eric's mother for the fist time...

The first Frozen film made such a big impact on me that I became very excited for a sequel. The sequel ended up coming out about six years after the first film. This was because the makers of Frozen planned on Frozen being a standalone story. However, after coming up with an idea that they thought was good enough, they decided to make a second film. I'm so glad that they made the decision to do that.

In the second film, Elsa has started hearing a mysterious voice. She attempts to find out where the voice is coming from. In the process of doing so, she gets into contact with the spirits of the...

Frozen is a Disney animated film that I kind of like. When I say kind of, what I actually mean is that I love it! It's a film that I've seen more times than anybody probably should. I used to watch this film more than once a week. It's a film that quickly grew quite the fanbase. I was certainly one of those fans that quickly got attached to the film.

Frozen centers around the bond between two princess sisters, who are named Anna and Elsa, that go on quite a unique adventure. Elsa was born with ice powers, but she's been ordered to keep that a secret. However, when Anna attempts to marry a prince...

Hey, y'all! Welcome to my first article of this series! I'll be talking about each detail from both a tradionally animated film AND a live-action one. Keep in mind, while I'm happy to give my input on a majority of these films, some I'm going to have to mentally prepare for in the meantime. But let's not go further into that. Let's get on with the show.

Today's article will be about both versions of Aladdin.

The characters:

The character development for each character is well done. I'm not going to lie about that quality, but I'd like to point out afew things about the flaws.

The tenth Mary Sue test. This one is for Mulan, who's called a Mary Sue sometimes (mostly by people who are bitter about her popularity, but they kind of have a point, especially with how she's always portrayed as superior to all the other princesses).

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- Nope, she has black hair and brown eyes, common Chinese features.
An odd name- No. Actually, I'm not sure, but I'll just assume 'Mulan' is a common Chinese name.
Looks constantly commented on- No, at least not about how beautiful she is.
Always the hero- Definitely. It's kind of a given considering her...

We've come to the big one. I hear Belle called a Mary Sue a lot, more than any other princess aside from maybe Rapunzel.

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- No. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
An odd name- No. 'Belle' isn't that odd of a name.
Looks constantly commented on- God yes. The town literally sings an entire song about it (along with how odd she is). It's literally in the title of the movie, along with her name. 1.
Multiple characters falling for her- Yep. Beast and Gaston, plus the whole town calling her beautiful. 1.
Gets into the relationships she wants- No. Her relationship...

This is another Mary Sue test. I decided to do Elsa after Anna. I think she's accused of being a Mary Sue more (though neither of them are accused much).

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- Platinum blonde hair isn't super common, though it can be explained by her ice powers (but it isn't made clear that's the explanation like with Rapunzel). .5
An odd name- No. 'Elsa' isn't that odd of a name.
Looks constantly commented on- No. I can't remember Elsa's looks being commented on much.
Always the hero- No. I can't remember her saving anyone aside from herself.

Every princess changes her mind very drastically.

1- Elsa
Frozen 1: "The cold never bothered me!"
Frozen Fever: *gets sick from the cold*
Frozen 2: *freezes*

2- Rapunzel
First: "Mothers always tell the truth."
When she meets Flynn: *rebels* "Hm, I said wrong! Mom doesn't know the truth!"

3- Ariel
When the collection is destroyed: *angry, eager to prove*
At the wedding: *reconciled* "I love you so much, daddy.."

4- Tiana
At first: "Working and achieving your dreams is the most important thing"
When Facilier offers to make her dreams come true: *suddenly, Tiana changes her mind* "No, love is more important!"...

Hello! I haven't written an article for a month. But still today I will analyze Ariel. Before I begin, I must thank Genevievebarbie. Thank you very much, you wrote very nice things about me in your "meet disney princess fans" post. 🧡.

We pass to the article. As I said before, I will analyze Ariel, her behavior, appearance, etc.

Ariel is such a sweet girl, and yes, my least favorite princess, but I can't deny that she's also cute. We better start with Ariel's Appearance... Because I have very good comments about the appearance of this princess.

1- Appearance
Ariel has long red hair that ripples...

Hello everyone! Sorry the article is so late getting up this year. I was busy with the holidays, then work and then I got sick. It just seemed like one thing after another kept coming up. So again, I apologize, and at least it's up now.

Anyway, before we get started let me give you a brief run down of the Meet the DP Fans articles, in case you happen to new to the club and/or unfamiliar with them. These articles have been done in past by a few other users to showcase some of the current Disney Princess fans. Now, obviously, there are many other members in this club, besides the ones listed...
