After all that waiting here's the results of the first Old vs New survey, Sleeping Beauty vs Maleficent! I think this one is the only one where pretty much everyone answered the same thing and I'm not really surprised by the results for this one. The results are from the answers of users and my own answers.

O = Original
R = Remake
O and R = Original and Remake

Favorite Aurora
O 7
R 1

I didn't get much of an explaination as to why most people preferred to the original over the remake, the only explainations I got was one person said they thought that Elle Fanning's acting was stiff for some of the movie and another person saying the orginal was superior in ever aspect. For this one I can only assume it's because for some people you can't beat the original, people grew up with the original Aurora and fell in love with her and Elle Fanning's portrayal wasn't terrible but, again, can't beat the original.

Favorite Maleficent
O 8
R

Okay this one is almost a no brainer. Angelina Jolie was great as Maleficent and Maleficent herself in the remake wasn't awful, but the reason people prefer the original is because Maleficent is supposed to be the Mistress of All Evil (two people actually said this), we grew up seeing her be evil and doing evil deeds and mock her enemies. In the remake she was completely changed, instead of being the villain we all grew up to know and love she's a troubled person who raises the daughter of the man who wronged her. That story isn't bad, to a lot of people it just doesn't fit the Maleficent image.

Favorite Good Fairies
O 8
R

Once again, no brainer. The original Good Fairies were the embodiment of good. They were sweet, gentle, kind, and lovable and while they did argue they never actually hit each other or acted immature in their arguments. When you look at the original fairies you knew they loved each other. The remake fairies were just terrible characters and terrible people in general. They were incredibly negligent and they had no tact whatsoever. And any time we see them on screen they act like a hateful version of the 3 Stooges where they constantly fight but it's not funny and you don't really believe they like being together.

Favorite King Stefan
O 8
R

So much no brainers in this article. A few users disliked how evil he was in the remake and one user questioned why they even made him evil in the first place. Him being evil was such an unnecessary change. If the writers really wanted him to have done Maleficent wrong they could have done it without making him as evil as they did. King Stefan still could have been the good guy and he and Maleficent could have just been enemies and neither of them could be in the right or wrong because they each believed that whatever they were doing was right. And in the original even though we don't see King Stefan and Aurora interact that much it's made clear plenty of times that he loves her and cares about her but then remake King Stefan barely says any words to Aurora and is never kind to her at all because he's driven himself insane with fear and paranoia.

Favorite Prince Phillip
O 8
R

Here's some issues users had with Maleficent's Prince Phillip; he didn't have that much screen time and he didn't actually get to save Aurora in the remake. The original Prince Phillip escaped Maleficent's castle, rode through a wall of thorns, fought and killed Maleficent in dragon form, and saved Aurora from death-like sleep. In Maleficent he was just sort of...there. He doesn't do much except meet Aurora, get dragged to the castle, and then try and fail to wake up Aurora.

Favorite Crow
O 8
R

Diablo was Maleficent's pet and confidant, he was the only one she trusted to help her get the job done. Diaval was a crow Maleficent saved from getting beaten to death and had sworn to serve her in return. Diaval, like Maleficent, wasn't a bad character but like Maleficent and Aurora, you can't beat the original. It didn't seem like there was a real reason to have Diaval human for some parts of the movie except to give Maleficent someone to talk to, but she could have just talked to her crow like she did in the original and that would have been good enough. Maleficent was alone for a reason, she didn't need to make her pet human for companionship, Diablo was just fine in his crow form.

Favorite Once Upon a Dream
O 7
R 1

Both versions of Once Upon a Dream were good but people preferred the original because, as one person put it, "duh, because it's memorable" and possibly because some people don't like how creepy the Lana Del Ray version was.

Favorite Plot
O 8
R

The plot for Sleeping Beauty was more straightforward while the plot for Maleficent had a few plot holes and was slightly boring. As a standalone film Maleficent could have been an amazing movie if some of the plot holes were fixed, the characters better, and if Maleficent and Stefan's relationship was brought more than just a few times at the beginning. By the end of the movie it's kinda easy to forget that they were supposed to be friends turned enemies

Favorite Curse
O 8
R

The curse in Sleeping Beauty was done for the sake of being evil (and possibly pettiness) while in Maleficent it's done in revenge for what Stefan did to Maleficent. The original curse was to just kill the princess but then Merryweather's gift saved her but then the new curse was changed to have her be in a "sleep like death" and to be only saved by true love's kiss, that last part added in a way for her to taunt Stefan because she believed there was no such thing. We don't even get to see the third gift in Maleficent.

Favorite Prince and Princess meeting
O 8
R

Without the musical number in Maleficent Aurora and Phillip's meeting there's not as much romance or chemistry. One user even thought that their meeting was embarassing. In Sleeping Beauty even though we don't see them having a real conversation there was still something there, he sings to her and dances with her, we wanted them to fall in love and be together. In Maleficent they just talk for a little while and that was it.

Favorite Spinning Wheel scene
O 8
R

In Sleeping Beauty Aurora is put under a trance to follow a floating green orb of light that softly calls her name, is slowly led up some stairs to a room with a spinning wheel, and is ordered to prick her finger while the good fairies desperately call out to her and tell her not to touch anything. In Maleficent Aurora is put under a trance and wanders aimlessly until she ends up in the room with the burnt spinning wheels, one of which magically puts itself back together and she then pricks her finger and goes to sleep and we're cutting back and forth with Maleficent racing to the castle on Diaval with a passed out prince behind her on his own horse. This scene in Maleficent is okay by comparison, Sleeping Beauty's version has more build up, is more intense, and is "more scary".

Favorite Dragon
O 8
R

Many fans were disappointed that Maleficent didn't get to turn into a dragon in the remake. Her transformation in Sleeping Beauty was one of the first villain transformations and is iconic even to this day and Maleficent didn't get to keep it in the remake. Diaval was an impressive looking dragon, but now fans have to wonder how Maleficent would have looked.

Favorite True Love's Kiss
O 8
R

I honestly thought change in the remake was cute because I kinda like to think that it shows that you can count on family to save you too. But here's some problems with the true love's kiss in the remake; Frozen had just done this and even though this probably can't really count as a ripoff since Maleficent was probably done before Frozen came out, it did feel like a cheap copy and the other issue is by having Phillip's kiss not work it feels like the writers were trying to tell the audience, "There's no way this kiss could ever work because they barely knew each other!" But we all grew up watching Phillip risk his life to save Aurora and then kiss her awake, even though we don't see them together that much he still fought hard to save her in the end despite only knowing her for a musical number. To quote Anna from Frozen, "It's TRUE LOVE!!"

Sleeping Beauty is the winner!

I hope you all enjoyed reading this! You can expect the article for Cinderella to be out tomorrow!

Since it's Valentine's Day soon I decided to write a few articles relating to that and I decided to do a list of my favorite DP Couples, fittingly enough the last time I did this list was around this time last year, since then my list has changed a slight bit. Hope you'll like this article

11. Mulan & Shang

Imo they're more best friends than a couple, their first meeting is hilarious though and I love how Mulan isn't afraid to show off her feelings for Shang in a subtle way and how Shang chose to not kill Mulan despite the fact that women wheren't allowed in the army, it shows that...

I know we've probably had an excess of these over the last few months, but I don't care. In my humble opinion, there can never be too many articles defending Walt's girls. I believe Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora just as much praise and recognition as any of the Modern or Renaissance princesses. The three classic Princesses receive a large amount of criticism. They include "weak", "passive", "need a man to save them", "boring", "do nothing", "need a man to save them", among others (that last reason is so incredibly stupid and sexist). These "arguments" are beyond cliché, mind-numbing,...

Hey everyone! The classic Disney films had such a knack for capturing the splendor and wonder of magic so I thought I'd rate all the DP films to see which ones are the most magical.
For this, I took the 5 most likely elements of magic in the Disney Princess films and added 1 category for the awareness of each 6 elements. This is because the more prominent magic would be in a story (or the world in the story), the more people should be aware of the magic as it would be hard to miss. Here are the 12 put together:

1. Magical Powers- Meaning that magic can be done without the use of items (like wands)...

Hi everyone!

Recently, I posted a question asking fans to list five personality traits most desirable in a Disney princess. My traits poll, which was going to be the foundation of this article, was based on TheMusicalMolls' list of traits; the first response. I didn't bother to check my question again for other responses, but when I returned to my question after I posted the poll, I was surprised to see that more fans had bothered to answer my question. At that point, it was only a handful of people, and since I found their lists highly similar to TheMusicalMolls', I let it be. I hope I didn't...

Here's my quick ranking on original DP films in part 1 of this article series. Part 2 will follow with all the sequels, prequels and shorts. Hope you'll enjoy it!

12. Princess and the frog:
I found the script to be very lazily written, with no wow moments to remember and no surprising twists. The movie crawled at deathly slow pace, making me skip scenes in between. The animation was pretty average with nothing memorable except a few scenes in bayou and death of Dr. Facilier. I found the sett ups to be unflattering and lacked the Disney magic feel to it. The best set-up from the entire movie was...

I'm sorry but I disagree with each side. I mean I agree with each side but I don't. I think both sides of the argument are taking things way too far, and it doesn't need to.

Frozen fans need to just accept that not everyone likes this movie and Frozen haters need to learn that they are being just as rude as the Frozen fans and they just need to stop.

Both sides really need to stop because they're ruining this movie for me. They already ruined Elsa for me, and soon, I'll hate the whole thing, even Anna, who's my favorite DP.

Here's my ranking of Disney Prince, barring Prince Hans as he's the DP villain. Hope you'll find it entertaining.

11. Florian:
Apart from singing and showing courtesy and respect to a young maid of lower status, there's literally no interaction and no scenes to understand his personality. It was kind of creepy for me that he'd kiss a supposedly dead maiden. So yeah, he's the last in my list.

10. Naveen:
Spoiled rich brat who didn't even learn after plundering all the ancestoral wealth and thought of fixing it the easy way to find a rich girl to marry. Too flirtatious, too lazy, too laid-back...

I, myself only knew 7 out of 14. Who knows, you might know more than me or know less than me. Either way enjoy reading and absorb the knowledge!

Trivia

1) Production designer Richard Vander Wende devised a simple color scheme for the film, inspired by its desert setting. Blue (water) stands for good, red (heat) for evil, and yellow (sand) is neutral. For example, the villainous Jafar is clad in blacks and reds, while the virtuous Jasmine wears blue. Another example is in the Cave of Wonders, where the lamp's chamber is blue, and the ruby that tempts Abu is bright red.

2) Jasmine was originally...

Did you ever know that Elsa and Anna had a cousin? Well you do now! Elsa and Anna have a cousin and there cousin is Rapunzel. Never knew that? Now you know. Rapunzel is cousins with the sisters Elsa and Anna. Rapunzel seems like she forgot she had cousins. I am not sure about Elsa and Anna if they forgot they had a cousin. How are they cousins? Elsa and Anna's mom is the sister of Rapunzel's mom. Now they are Cousins. Another weird thing. Both shows are created by the same person. I never knew they were cousins till I saw a YouTube show that said they were cousins. Another weird thing. Ariel...

Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Okay so I basically grew up without parents in a large sense. That being said, I always yearned for a loving, stable and consistent mother and father to teach morals, values, effective and constructive communication, consequences for actions, real love, respect, trust, honor, etc. Since Walt Disney founded the company under those family and character-based values, I have always been very attached to the Disney brand. That being said, I was thinking about the Disney Princesses' parents and if I could have traded my childhood situation with one of them, which would it be? Since I also love lists...

From anukriti2409 and sweetie-94's articles about most beautiful things from DP movies, I was inspired to make one. But my version is a little different: this one is most beautiful things from each DP movies, from the first until the latest ones. Well, hope you'll be enjoyed my article and sorry for mistakes I may be made.

My entire life, Belle has always been my absolute favorite princess. When I was just a toddler I dressed up like her for Halloween and when I got married, I even tried to find a dress that resembled her yellow gown (in white, of course).

In so many ways, Belle reminds me of myself. As someone who relates so closely to and identifies with Belle, I wanted to share my well-detailed analysis of her character. I believe we all know our favorite characters the best so I would encourage others to write an article about their favorite princess. I hope that this will help others understand Belle a little...

The Disney Princesses wear some of the cutest little outfits, both inside and outside of ceremonies and balls, so I wanted to do a fun and light-hearted ranking of all of their outfits! (I will be doing a second countdown with the ceremonial outfits and ball gowns ranked.) I ranked them based on which I'd like to wear most:

Peasant/Work Outfits:

7. Snow White's Brown "Servant's" Outfit:
For something that is made to look incredibly unflattering, it's actually not that bad. Aside from being torn and having different-colored patches, it's really just a plain dress.

6. Tiana's Blue Work Uniform:...

As some of you may know, I recently did my version of a "Prettiest Princess" article which rated the overall attraction of each princess. That article was done with a heavy bias towards what males like best about females so I wanted to make one with the bias towards what females like (in friends). What females look for in friends will of course vary by personality so I decided to use the Disney Princesses as the model for my female scale. I made a ranking list for each of them (of course, it is subject to my opinion of their rankings) and then combined all 13 lists to see how they'd rate each...

The gang was walking back to the cottage when a bush popped up in front of them. Mulan gasped at what she saw growing on it. She hurried to the plant. "You guys have to see this!" she exclaimed. The others rallied around. The reactions were mixed. Shang felt his nerves dance a bit, Pocahontas theorized, and John and Merida exchanged scowls. "Cherries?" Merida said. "Mulan, I get you have very valuable things and traditions where YOU come from, but it's just a fruit." John replied. "Just a fruit? John, these are delicate." Mulan stated.

"Mulan, it's not like glass where you throw it and it breaks."...
