Hello all, and welcome to Fanpop's Favorite Disney Princesses 2019! Before we begin, I have to give a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their lists, comments, and headers for the article. This absolutely would not be possible without all of you.

If you're a little late to the party, here's how things worked this year: rather than asking people to submit their favorite DP lists, I instead asked everyone to rank each of the princesses on a scale of 1-20, 20 being love, 10 being neutral or mixed feelings, and 1 being hate. I did it this way because I thought it would give a more nuanced picture of how we feel about the princesses.

Results have been determined by the median (middle-most) score for each DP, with the mode (most common) score as a tiebreaker, and the mean (average) score as a secondary tiebreaker if necessary. If there was more than one mode for a DP, I used the highest mode since this is a list of favorites after all. :) As for formatting the article, I liked the way princesslullaby did it last time with one positive and one negative comment for each princess in order to show multiple perspectives, so that's what I did this time as well. I did my best to diversify the comments - thank you to everyone who took the time to write them.

And so... the results:

12. Merida

Median: 8 Mode: 9 Mean: 7.56

MaidofOrleans
MaidofOrleans

Merida makes me smile, it's as simple as that. She's crazy and wild, but also learns from her mistakes and owns up to them. It's nice that we have a princess who's not interested in marriage. I think she's severely underappreciated, and I really adore her. ~MaidofOrleans

She harmed her mother without thinking things through, and then tried to blame her mother for everything. Merida didn't think through her plans before making a deal with a witch, just like Ariel, but she shows no remorse for the vast majority of the movie, and at the end I still don't fully believe that she was sorry. I think she would do it all again if her mother didn't change her point of view of the arranged marriage. ~sunnyfields

11. Moana

Median: 13 Mode: 15 Mean: 12.33

KataraLover
KataraLover

A lot of people think she's boring and unoriginal, but I rather like Moana. Even though she has many similar traits as the other princesses, it's her journey, a hero's journey, that's unique. Her movie is also really good, and how much I like the movie determines how much I like the princess. She's relatable and I'm a sucker for the ocean. All hail to the sailing (way-finding) princess (no pun intended). ~disnerdtobe

If Rapunzel was written to be "flawless" but wasn't necessarily written to be a "role model", and Tiana was written to be a "role model" but wasn't really meant to be "flawless", Moana is a combination of both: just this perfectly sculpted ideal symbol, resulting in an obnoxious cookie-cutter and quite frankly boring character. All those words we love to use on previous princesses like "idealized", "Mary-Sue", "generic", "unoriginal", etc.… I feel like those terms can all be applied tenfold to Moana. Honestly, other princesses probably have less likeable qualities and have committed less favorable actions that warrant a negative reaction, but that's the thing, at least it's a reaction! Moana makes me feel nothing. ~JNTA1234

10. Snow White

Median: 14.5 Mode: 12 Mean: 14.72

cruella
cruella

She is optimistic and kind, despite being a little bossy at times. I like how she was considerate to apologize to the animals for scaring them, and she was kind enough to offer a drink to the evil queen in disguise. She stayed positive and optimistic that everything would work out in the end and that she would get her happily ever after, which is admirable. ~sunnyfields

She is sweet, but I don’t like how bossy she can be. She is not the most interesting princess for me. ~magicworld_88

9. Pocahontas

Median: 15 Mode: 15 Mean: 14.06

tiffany88
tiffany88

I love her passionate and loving nature (which is especially during Colors of the Wind, my favorite DP song), I love how she is playful and childish but at the same time wise and philosophical, and I admire her selflessness. ~Adelital

The voice work on Pocahontas (speaking voice, that is) is so drab that I find her character really dull. Very difficult to get invested in her. ~ApplesauceDoctr

8. Aurora

Median: 15 Mode: 15 Mean: 14.50

Swanpride
Swanpride

I love her symbolism in Sleeping Beauty. She's like a wood sprite and has that fairytale elegance. All hail to the nap queen. ~disnerdtobe

I like her appearance and singing voice, but since she doesn’t have a lot of screen time, she doesn’t have too much of a personality except just being a dreamer and dreaming about meeting someone. ~BB2010

7. Tiana

Median: 15 Mode: 19 Mean: 13.61

cruella
cruella

Unique personality. I admire her work ethic and since I am a big eater, I also love that she is such a great cook. ~Adelital

I don't like Tiana's movie, ergo I don't like her. I don't like how the movie portrays Tiana as morally superior to everyone else… I don't like how she's so focused on the future and rarely lives in the present. Years of self-deprivation and focusing solely on hard work can make a person pessimistic. ~disnerdtobe

6. Belle

Median: 16 Mode: 19 Mean: 14.78

MaidofOrleans
MaidofOrleans

She's so wonderful. I love her imagination, her thirst for adventure, her refusal to be content with a quiet life, not to mention her ability to see beneath the surface. She's so brave, and I just adore her. ~MaidofOrleans

…I've not liked Belle since I was around 8 years old, and I am getting into my late 30s as we speak. …Belle annoys me with her constant pretentiousness, and I've never liked her story arc for its departure from having siblings, a more involved/less stupid father, and the general less mysterious/non-magical quality of falling in love with someone who is volatile (which is what happened in the original tale, and why it's not among my favorites at all). ~wavesurf

5. Jasmine

Median: 16.5 Mode: 17 Mean: 15.56

tiffany88
tiffany88

With a fiery personality and a quick wit, she's a thrill to watch and the only reason she doesn't get one more point is that it's not her story. ~JNTA1234

I actually think that Jasmine in the TV show is a better character than the version in the movie, where she is more a side-character. It's Aladdin's story after all. But I like the feisty but also responsible version of her in the TV show. ~Swanpride

4. Cinderella

Median: 17 Mode: 18 Mean: 16.28

cruella
cruella

Cinderella has so much inner strength. No matter how much her "family" kept tearing her down, she never stopped dreaming, and whenever she saw a chance to stand up to her family, she did. That makes her one of my favs. ~Swanpride

Perfectly pleasant, but some of the others are more interesting to me. ~ApplesauceDoctr

3. Rapunzel

Median: 17 Mode: 20 Mean: 14.89

Swanpride
Swanpride

I just love, love, love Rapunzel! She is smart, she is excitable, but she is also full of insecurities which she overcomes in her movie. Aside from Mulan, she is the most fleshed out of all the Disney Princesses imho. ~Swanpride

I have mixed feelings about Rapunzel, but I think I like her overall, which is why she's sitting at an 11 rather than a 10. I feel like Tangled is trying really hard to get me to like her, just shoving her in my face and screaming about how cute and relatable she is, and that results in me disbelieving her as a character as well as seriously bothering me. However, I like that she's artistic and curious about the world. ~MaidofOrleans

2. Ariel

Median: 17 Mode: 20 Mean: 16.78

tiffany88
tiffany88

Her singing voice is my favorite in the Disney Princess franchise, and I love her curious and adventurous personality. Even without having a voice for some of the movie, it doesn’t stop her from being this adorable, curious, energetic girl who wants to see more of the surface world and marry Eric. ~BB2010

Neither particularly admirable or relatable, overrated in the looks department, but I'll give her points for starting new trend and serving as inspiration for many of the 90s animated heroines. ~Adelital

1. Mulan

Median: 18 Mode: 20 Mean: 17.83

Swanpride
Swanpride

She uses her brains to overcome obstacles and to win the war rather than just fighting, and even when she’s kicked out of the army she doesn’t hesitate to run to them to tell them the Huns were still alive. ~BB2010

An inspiring, amazing, relatable character...who also kicks butt. ~JNTA1234

What is NOT to love about Mulan? But my favorite thing about her is that she eventually stops trying to be a typical woman or a typical man and instead just starts being herself, using her smarts to her advantage. She is great. ~Swanpride

Mulan is memorable and her interactions with the other characters are entertaining. ~disnerdtobe

Relatable, the most tragic DP from the saddest DP movie. I love how humble and sweet she is (and it's great that despite being a warrior and being created in late 90s, in her attitude she is more similar to Pocahontas and Belle than she is to Jasmine and Meg), and admire how caring and protective she is of people outside of her family. Her insecurity and self-hatred, however, make her a bit annoying at times. ~Adelital

I like how loyal, brave, and family oriented she is. I just don't relate to her bravery, which sets her down a little in my favorites list. ~sunnyfields

Love her. She seems to be reserved, sweet, not very confident, and this is refreshing for a female character that is supposed to go to war. ~magicworld_88

Mulan's a badass. She's so brave, and I love her devotion to her family. Her transformation is one of the best of all the DPs. ~MaidofOrleans

Mulan feels very human to me. Trying to do what's right, wanting to be someone who will make her family proud, and not sure how to do that, disappointed in herself, but musters the courage to do what no one else in her time would... DANG. She's great. ~ApplesauceDoctr

Thank you for reading the article and to everyone who submitted their rankings. <3 I hope you enjoyed participating!

Some interesting statistics, in case you're a nerd like me:
- More than half of all users rated Merida below 10, the only princess to be ranked so low. She was also the only princess never ranked at 20. My poor Mer-Bear, I love you sweetie <3
- Snow White, Cinderella, and Mulan were the only princesses never rated below a 10, and of those Mulan was never rated below 14!
- Our top three princesses, Rapunzel, Ariel, and Mulan, all had the same mode, with five users each scoring them at 20.

Hello everybody. *gives insane smile that makes everybody scared* it's time for my favorite Disney Princess wardrobes. I've already created my link but now it's time to see who has the best overall wardrobe. Anyways, please keep in mind that this is my opinion, and we may not agree on things, so respect my opinion and I'll respect yours. Also, I won't include Anna and Elsa. Alright, time to start! Enjoy the article! :)

(Also, I don't have pictures of all the outfits, so I'll show a picture of my favorite from each one.)

11. Pocahontas

Well, she only wears one outfit, so that's not exactly...

Cinderella bids you to save
There are several requirements one must fulfill in order to consider themselves fans of Disney. These may range from simply picking a favorite movie or song to creating a lake of tears whenever a commercial for Disneyworld comes on TV. But lately, in the past ten years, one more requirement has popped up: One must memorize and pick a favorite among the official line of princesses.
Ever since it began in the early 1990’s, the Disney Princess Lineup has been the most successful series of merchandise the Disney Company has produced. Walk into any Kroger or Wal-Mart and before you know it, you...

So, this is Team Poca's collab article for the team games! Collages were made by me. I had to parasize some of the descriptions due to the fact everyone had a lot of things to say about each princess. To save space, I came up with short nicknames listed below.

Cr: CRaZy_rawR (me)
324: 324anna
Zf: zikkiforever
Pr: purplerose17
Sd: ShadowintheDark

11. Snow White

Cr: I love Snow to death! Imo, she has quite a few layers, sweet, motherly, bossy, optimistic, and manipulative. I wish I could put her higher, really..

324: I really feel sad for that placement, but I still can't put Snow higher. She's...

A long time ago I wrote an article about my favorite DP Movie Intros, this time I'm writing about my favorite scenes where the princesses are introduced for the first time at their movie age (the age they are majority of the movie) so for some princesses it's their very first scene (Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas and Mulan), for others it comes slightly later (Cinderella, Tiana, Rapunzel and Merida) and for some it comes much later (Anna and Elsa)

13. Anna

Anna is one of my favorite Disney Princesses, but her introduction scene is my least favorite, it's unmemorable...

So yeah I did a countdown and here are the results. Thanks to everyone who gave me their lists, I really appreciate it :) I would add commentary, but eh, I'll let the comments speak for themselves.

13. Jasmine

"Isn't particularly strong, but she does stand against Jafar when he had her captive, and is definitely fervent in her resolve re: arranged marriage." -MacytheStrange

"she is willing to escape even when she knows she's not allowed to and wasn't accustomed to lifeon the streets. She is willing to forgive Aladdin, which could be a sign of strength or weakness, and is always standing up for...

I look up to Cinderella because she is an amazing princess who takes pride in her personality. Cinderella never let's others bring her down, when her evil step sisters and step mother would say mean things to her and force her to be their maid she never stoop to their level. Cinderella would always stay positive and know that someday her happy ever after would come and sooner or later it did. So I think everyone should be like Cinderella and never give up hope and stoop to others level. Whenever someone mistreats you or makes you feel down just remember Cinderella and have hope that someday you will have your Happily Ever After.

I hope that everyone learns something from this article.

Merida VS Ariel: The Ultimate debate
Well this will be my last Article before I leave fanpop
Ok so this all happened when Hatelarxene messages me on a comment about Anna. This will be a long debate. I know some of you are annoyed with this but I'm going to make in anyway so this can be over with...for me at least. I need closure on this before I leave.
