Team 1989?
Team 1989?
Hello everyone, as I did for previous Disney Princess reboots, here is a comparison of the 1989 animated film with its 2023 live action reboot. With that being said, let's dive in!

The Storyline

While the storyline is faithful to the 1989 animated feature, I was very happy that there are several scenes that actually filled in the plot hole. Like we get to see Prince Eric's adopted mother and their relationship between mother and son. tied
Speaking of parental relationship, Ariel's relationship with her dad remains the same, except that in the animated feature. King Triton is a very hot tempered man, but in this live-action reboot, he is a very reasonable man with the exception of the destruction of the grotto. 1989
Les Poissons was omitted in this live action reboot, I was really disappointed about this! 1989
When the wedding was crash, it was rushed and not comical enough! But on the other hand, it gives Ariel more character developments. tied
Prince Eric is not hypnotise in this version, because he notices that Ariel is not present in the castle when he's about to marry Ursula. 2023
Finally, Ursula's demise, which scarred me to this very day. It is even scarier in this live action reboot, from what I heard from Prasert! tied

The Characters

As mentioned, Ariel has more character developments and even has more screen time like her animated counterpart. She also a few new songs specially written for her too, to which I'm going to be talking about it in a little while! 2023
Prince Eric's character remains the same and has 1 new song that he sang, he has more screen time as well despite the fact that he's a supporting character. tied
While stern, King Triton is not hot tempered in this version, especially during the Destruction of the Grotto and still remains the same as his namesake animated counterpart. 2023
Ursula has more charisma and is also very hilarious at some point of the film. She also has more dialogues in this reboot! 2023
Like Ursula, Scuttle has more charisma and is also very hilarious! Especially his vocal stimulation, at least she did not sing Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture this time! I love her song too! tied
Sebastian and Flounder remains the same, the latter is even more hilarious and more proactive in this reboot! The same applies for Sebastian, even though he is also very stern at the beginning of the film. tied
In terms of appearance, Sebastian's animated feature is better! 1989
Finally, Grimsby is portrayed as a stern advisor in this reboot. Whereas in the cartoon, he is like the Duke from Disney's Cinderella. tied

The Songs & Music Scores

The songs remained the same, with some new songs written for this reboot. I was blown away by Halle's rendition of Part Of Your World! 2023
Poor Unfortunate Souls was greatly change for this rendition, mainly because of time constraint. Despite this, I love Melissa McCarthy's rendition of this song, she nailed it! 1989
The new songs, especially The Scuttlebutt is a very catchy song that can't get it out of my head! 2023
I love the choreography in Under the Sea, it's very colourful and vibrant too! 2023
Kiss the Girl remains the same, except that like Under The Sea, it has more choreography than the 1989 and less repetitive too. 2023

Under The Sea

So, here are my comparisons of both the 1989 animated feature with it's 2023 live action counterpart. Do tell me what do you think? If I missed out anything, please let me know in the comment section!

We don't need no men!
We don't need no men!
I'm just going to apologize for my terrible humor ahead of time. I wrote this sooo late ahaha. Ahh November. The Season of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the time of the turkeys. Turkeys are a very important animal in history. They are the animal of love. Don't believe me? Look at all the coincidences; turkeys make love with each other (bow chicka wow wow), they bring love to the obese, and best of all they are shaped like hearts...well close enough. With all these coincidences, it would be a crime to not write about my favorite couples in this joyous time of turkeys and making love. Oh, and...

So, I finally decided to write down an article about my prettiest princesses list. Before continuing with the list, I 'd like to inform you about something. I 've added two characters who are not official princesses. The reason why I did this is that I've not watched many non-princess Disney movies with beautiful females. Had I watched more movies, I 'd propably make a full Disney Female list including Alice, Giselle, the Blue Fairy, Wendy e.t.c. But currently, I love only two, so I thought I shouldn't leave them behind! Now, let's go on with the list.

13. Mulan
I really don't think there is...

Most of you who have just read the title of this article are probably thinking in your heads, "Yes," or "oh hell yeah!" or something like that. Well before you jump to that answer, hear me out. Last night, I had a dream that was related to the scene in Tangled where Rapunzel confronts Gothel and while I was sleeping in, it got me thinking. Yes, what Gothel did to Rapunzel was wrong, but I'm not sure if she completely qualifies as a villain.....per say. Let me explain.
First of all, unlike the other Disney Villains (with the exception of Frollo) Gothel isn't really interested in world domination...

Here are the results about positions 21-30 of the Disney Princess Sequel Outfit Countdown, voted by public.

30. Ariel: Seashells (The Little Mermaid II – Return to the Sea and Ariel's Beginning)

We are starting with the Ariel's purple seashells. People say this is just a bra and that it's too simple, but I like it, especially the color. Maybe, it didn't hit it big because we have seen Ariel in a lot of scenes with the seashells in original movie, too?

It's just a bra and a tail and the tail is already part of her. - starlight77

No, not Ariel's seashells. That's...

I haven't written an article for this spot in five-ever and I'm pretty sure this list has changed for me since so here I go, whatever. It's 4:30am so please excuse any hideous typos that make you cry blood that I don't see until I've read it back through 50 times.

10. Sleeping Beauty
Pretty, but boring as fuck.
Pretty, but boring as fuck.

Surprising absolutely no-one, this movie has remained at the bottom of my list. Why? Because it's dull as fuck. Sleeping Beauty sounds like the title is trying to compliment its audience, who will no doubt be well into the land of nod by the time the credits are anywhere near. The...

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:

Since this is my favorite DP movie I'm always having it hard to choose my favorite scene in the movie so my favorite changes often, so right now my favorite is when Snow White finds the dwarf's cottage, especially because of the music, it happens to be my favorite score in the movie. I don't know what else to say, it's in my opinion one of the best drawn animated scene that I've seen, only the ending...

She's so pretty in this one, too bad it's not an official screen shot from the movie
So I've noticed that a lot of Disney princess rankings rank the princesses down because they don't have the prettiest overall scenes. Well, I did a little digging and came up with what I thought were the prettiest scenes for every princess. Here's what I think regarding each of their unique and maximum beauty. These are all scenes from the actual movies.

Mulan
Mulan is actually quite pretty if you look at her. Obviously the animators couldn't make her as gorgeous as she could have been because she's dressed as a man for more than half the movie. In this picture you can see that her eyes are...

Hi! I´m on fire today! Hehe I´ve just finished writting my favorite outfits article and now I decided to write my favorite hair article. Well maybe I call it being on fire and some other fans call it a Wendsay afternoon but whatever. So as I am a little tired and I´m going out to celebrate (oh yeah, today it´s Mexico´s independence day, ¡Viva México!) I will make this article a little shorter. Here it is, enjoy!

10.Tiana
First of all I must say I´m not one of those Tiana´s hair haters but since I am judging hair I have to admit Tiana´s hair is very simple compared to the other princesses....

"Love her dress. Hate her" -A Cinderella Story
I´ve already written an article for my favoirte DP Wardrobes, you can read it here if you want to: link :D, so now I decided to write an article for my favorite outfits. I have to say this one was more difficult because I couldn´t decide between so many outfits (no sequels included).

I also couldn´t decide whether or not to include Ariel as a mermaid. You see, since I am judging outfits and technically her tail is part of her I couldn´t really count that as an outfit, and a pair of purple seashells is not much of an outfit either so as much as I love how she looks I decided not to include...

First of all, I would like to say huge THANK YOU to all of you, who participated in the countdown, and especially to those of you, who left comments.

Here are the results of Best Villain Defeat Countdown as of June 2011.

10. Ratcliffe's defeat

The problem with this defeat was that the viewers are left with the feeling that the villain did not get what he deserved. Sure he's to go to prison and all, but this does not seem to outweigh the fact that he almost started a war and wounded a person.
