As you can see from my icon-avatar-thingy, I just adore Belle from the bottom of my heart. Why? Oh, only a hundred reasons! But, to make it short, I'll list just a few. :D

I. She Loves Books
Obvious enough. The first couple of scenes of the movie, we could see her talking enthusiastically to the baker about a story she just read. Then, she proceeded to go to the bookstore and borrowed (or as it turned out, given) a book that she read all the way to her home.

Now, this gave positive remark to all young girls out there that they should read and be imaginative like Belle. After all, I, who fell in love with this girl after watching her movie, promptly told my mum about how I want to be like her when I grow up. She said, "Read more books and be brave, and don't judge someone by their appearances and you'll be like Belle in no time." I believed her, and it was the greatest advice she'd ever given to me.

II. She's Brave
First example; she was willing to be the Beast's prisoner for her father's freedom. Second example; had anyone ever noticed that when she ran away from the castle and had herself surrounded by wolves, she fell off Philippe and the wolves attack him instead? Well at time, she had the opportunity to run away and leave his horse. Despite this fact, she went ahead and grab a stick, bravely protecting herself and her horse though there's a slim chance of survival. Stupid, you say? No, that was an admirable act of courage and sacrifice.

Then, off course, she was brave to the Beast himself. The Beast practically screamed and yelled and threatened her to go to dinner with him. She refused. She refused a huge, hairy, scary beast. If that wasn't brave, I don't know what is.

Also, there's the scene where she saved the Beast from the wolves' attacks and treat his wounds. He cried, "THAT HURTS!" quite loudly, and you could see that his scream even made Belle's hair flew a little (when you watched the movie for about fifty times, you'd notice these things :p). What did Belle do? She fought back. She pointed how the Beast should learn to control his temper. She told a monster to control his temper. Again, this was very brave of her (I would faint at the sight of him alone :p)

III. She Cares for Her Family
Imagine this; you're dancing with your boyfriend in a grand ballroom, and he asked you if you're happy or not. What do you say?

"Yes, I'm happy with you here. Let's dance,"

Probably that. But no, Belle thought of his father. With a loving man (well, kinda) and a castle and a friendly crew of enchanted object and beautiful dresses, she still thought about Maurice. This is why I like her so much. She didn't forget about her family when she's in love and rushed down to her dad when she knew he was sick.

There's also the thing where she sacrificed her own freedom for her father's but that's been discussed in the previous point.

IV. She Doesn't Just Like People for Their Looks
This is self-explanatory isn't it? I mean, rejecting Gaston and loving a beast and being friends with households reflects "Don't Judge a Book by Its' Cover" perfectly, no?

V. She's Odd
In case you missed the Belle's Song from her first appearances, the whole town was talking about her and using adjectives and words like "rather odd", "heads in the clouds", "funny girl", "very different from the rest of us" etcetera.

My point? Well, she's weird! Strange, unique, different, bookworm, nerd, dork -- whatever you want to call her, it's fine. Because the fact is, she was viewed as odd and not like other girls her age by everyone.

"Oh, she's so pretty, if only she was normal,"

Change the "pretty" to "talented", "smart", or any adjectives you like, and many girls can relate to Belle. I mean, how many people in high school feel that they don't fit in and is the weird one in the group? They often had very low self-esteem, but Belle proved that you can still have a happy life by being yourself.

Well, that's it. Five reasons why We/I Love Belle. Enjoy! :D

Ps. I might do another Princess if you want to. :p

1.Common Dress
1.Common Dress
Hi, I hope you are enjoying my list and are looking forward to my explanation of Belles dresses from Beauty and the beast. The second Renaissance princess and someone whon doesn't start as a princess but a normal woman. By the way with all honesty I've not seen the sequels so if there are any different dresses I've missed that you would like me to discuss comment on it and I'll explain on the next article.

1. Common dress
Belle leaves her house she shares with her dad and wonders round the town singing so beautifully, in a dress worn by a normal person in France about that time. Yet already it's...

This article is inspired by ace200's and anukriti2409's articles! I just thought it looked like such a fun thing to think about I couldn't help writing one myself. :)

1. If I changed my name...

I would change it to Merida! It's such a beautiful, nontraditional name, and is a variant of the Celtic name Mairead, which I have long been a fan of. Mairead also means "pearl," which is my favorite gemstone.
Runner up: Briar Rose

2. I would want my parents to be...

James and Eudora! They are such wonderfully supportive parents who do everything in their power to ensure their child has a fulfilling...

The Most Elegant Disney Princesses

I really like elegance, so I decided to make a list of the most elegant princesses. Turns out less than half of the princesses are really elegant. Keep in mind that I didn't just rank them based on how they act, but also on how they look and my first impressions. Also just because someone's royal, it doesn't mean they are elegant. (like Prince Harry) I apologize in advance if this article is poorly written.

13) Rapunzel

When I first saw Rapunzel, I didn't think she was elegant at all and when I saw Tangled, turns out I was right. She doesn't act or look elegant,...
