As Belle hurtled through space and time, she was shocked and confused. If all the remaining princesses were present, then who did it? All of them seemed to die, or have some sort of seizure or heart failure. Why hadn't she? Who did it? Could one of the other princesses have faked her own death? But, if they did...how?
All her thoughts stopped as she landed flat on her back on the stone floor of a shadowy room. Then suddenly she could see ropes draped all around the room-ropes that looked strange, like they were woven out of silk. She looked around the room. The shadows made it look like it went on forever, and there were only a few small windows, which hardly let in any light.
Turning her head, Belle saw a row or chairs-filled with the princesses! They were tied up with that silk rope, lined up one by one. The princesses who had been dead before-Jasmine, Snow White, Mulan, Cinderella, and Ariel- were motionless, but Belle couldn't tell if they were unconscious or dead. None of the wound marks that had been there showed. But the ones who had recently disappeared, like Belle-Aurora, Tiana, and Pocahontas- were moving, fighting the ropes, which were moving on their own. Tying them to the chairs. Once they were bound and gaged, and had given up fighting the ropes, they looked up and saw Belle. They said nothing, but their expressions seemed to say, "Go! Run!" But Belle didn't know where to go.
As soon as the princesses looked up, the rope-there seemed to be miles of it- noticed Belle's presence. Instead of tying her to a chair, like the others, rope simply came and pinned her wrists, ankles, and neck to the wall. A small, barefooted figure, dressed in purple and holding the rope, stepped out of the shadows and into Belle's line of vision.
It was Rapunzel.
Belle gasped, but the rope-which Belle now realized was Rapunzel's hair- tightened around her neck. Rapunzel smirked, seeing Belle's pain, and spoke. "Sweet little Belle. You didn't realize until it was too late, did you? You were too busy accusing your poor little friends, isn't that right?"
"But...why?"
"Haven't you noticed? Everyone already hates me. 'The only good part of the trailer is the part with the prince.' 'It'll never be as good as the classics.' 'The name is so stupid!' Blah, blah, blah. With all the other movies destroyed, mine will be the only one to praise. After you comes the others- Toy Story, The Lion King, Bambi, even Anastasia has to go."
"How...how did you-"
Rapunzel laughed as she cut Belle off. "There are some perks to being in 3D, you know." She took a small remote control out of her pocket- not one for TV, but a highly advanced type thing. She twirled it around her finger. "Those images of dead girls you saw were just models. You were all alone at one point, weren't you? At those times, I just kidnapped the originals, made dummies of them, and killed them! Simple as that. Jasmine and Mulan were taken days before they died. And Snow White-well, once she figured it out, I couldn't let her tell everyone, could I?" She walked closer. "With this remote, I can transport anyone out of any movie and replace them with a model. I can even transport myself and do it physically. I bring them right back here and tie them up. Because they can't have a Rapunzel with SHORT hair, once I cut it off to tie someone up, it grows right back."
As she talked on and on, Mushu worked his way out of his hiding place under Pocahontas' chair. He pointed to the remote, then himself, then to Belle. Belle managed to nod without Rapunzel noticing-she thought Belle was trying to find a way to breathe easier. In the middle of Rapunzel's monologue, Belle shouted, "NOW!" Mushu sprang up, knocked the remote out of Rapunzel's hands, and sent it flying straight into Belle's. Belle didn't hesitate- she pushed a button, any button, with her finger- and was sent through time once again.
When she landed, she found herself back at Adam's castle.
"Why, Belle! We weren't expecting you for-"
"Adam, no time for that! Everyone's in danger!"
"WHAT?"
Belle explained the situation to Adam and the servants. They all came as Belle went to rally more people- all the princes, their sidekicks, even people from the non-princess movie-lions from The Lion King, bears and wild cats from The Jungle Book, even got Anya, Dimitri, and Vlad from Anastasia, figuring they were in danger too.
After gathering everyone, she transported back to Rapunzel's tower, causing a riot. Most of the people fought against Rapunzel, who was using her hair and a second remote to take them down. Belle gathered Simba and Nala to cut the ropes on the princesses and the fairies, and soon Rapunzel was simply overpowered. After a quick poll, Belle and some others used the cut portions of hair to tied Rapunzel up. Then, she told Dimitri, Aladdin, and Lumiere to search the tower, and confiscate and remotes they find. Before tying her up, Mulan frisked Rapunzel for more remotes and found four. Baloo crushed them under his feet and with his paws, along with the seventeen Dimitri, Aladdin, and Lumiere had found. They untied the captured fighters, and used the remote Belle had to see that everyone that had been transported during the fight had been sent to the correct movie. Then, she locked the outside of the tower, insuring that no one could get in or out without a remote.
"But my prince won't be able to get in! My movie will be ruined!"
"That's your problem," Belle said smoothly.
"You'll pay! You'll regret the day you crossed Rapun-" She was cut off as Shang gagged her. Then Belle stood and spoke the words everybody wanted to hear.
"Come on, everyone. Let's go home."
I have seen a lot of talk of the sexism in early Disney, and while I think it's a fair and interesting subject (if the difference in social attitudes at the time the movie was released is taken into account) I thought it would be nice to highlight some of the positive messages and female relationships I see in one of Disney's early movies that are sadly often overshadowed when people judge it

People tend to judge the movie by its 'main' character, but as we actually see and learn more of them, I think Flora, Fauna and Merryweather are a better place to start when looking at the movie's attitude...

A while back, somebody posted a pole asking if anybody thought Aurora and Odette were cousins. That got me thinking about all the Disney Family Theories I had heard over the years and I decided to write an article about this. Remember, all of these are just fun theories. I don't believe any of them.

1. Eilonwy is Aurora's descendant

I don't know about you, but I have heard many theories about Aurora and Eilonwy being somehow related. Some say she's her sister; others say she's her daughter. Although this wouldn't make sense looking at canon information, it is easy to see how people think that....
