10) Tiana
Tiana is cute, goal-oriented, and has a great singing voice! So why is she so low? It's simply because she doesn't have a fairytale aura about her. I like that she believes in her dreams, and goes and makes them happen. I don't like that she has no time for family and friends because she works so hard. My favorite scene is when she is swaying to the music as Charlotte dances with "Naveen". You just knew she wanted to dance with that prince!
9) Mulan
My favorite thing about Mulan is that she proves that being a princess comes from within(not from a royal title). She also proves that being awkward and not fitting in can be a good thing. It is very beautiful that she saved her father and found herself at the same time, but like Tiana she does not have the fairytale aura, and I believe that's why she didn't stick to me like the next 8.
8) Pocahontas
She is so in touch with nature, but what I love most about her is that when she sees a white man she just sees a man. And she has the power to make him see her as just a woman.(a beautiful woman!) Her movie definitely has the strongest message(although it might not be as fun as the others). I really can't think of anything bad to say about her, I just like a lot of the others more!
7) Cinderella
Ah, the ultimate princess story. Cinderella has a strong personality: she's sweet, hard-working, patient, understanding. I just wish we saw more of her than those mice with their Tom and Jerry-esque cat and mice chases. I really like that her dream is to get out of that house, not to marry a prince! I also like how she has strong faith in her dreams. "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" definitely lifts my spirits! My only complaint is that we didn't see enough of her.
6) Belle
She's very dreamy and she is a bookwork(like me =D). I like how she wants adventure so badly, but she doesn't know how to make it happen. Well, fate steps in and gets it for her! I always found Belle and Beast's love story a little odd. I can't explain it, I just never got into it. And of course I can't forget to mention that Belle wears my favorite dress!
5) Snow White
She is so optimistic and so lovely. She's kind to everyone and that's why she gets her happily ever after in the end! Many parents complain about her, saying all she wants is her prince to come. All I have to say is: Don't we all? That's not my top goal, but to find my prince(royal or not) and get married is one of my long-term goals(short term right now is college!). "Someday my Prince Will Come" touches everyone whether they admit it or not.
4) Aurora
I know she's only in the movie for 18 minutes, but there's something about her. When she dances in the forest with Philip my heart just melts. Also, "Once Upon a Dream" is my all time favorite Disney song. After watching this movie I dance around singing this song! Aurora is so sweet, I wish we could have seen more of her in the movie, but I suppose it's called SLEEPING beauty for a reason.
3) Jasmine
I like how Jasmine thinks for herself, and how she is willing to give up her royal title for freedom.("Well maybe I don't want to be a princess anymore") Although it might be naive, she runs away, and I admire that she went after her dream. Aladdin and Jasmine are my favorite couple, only because they're love seems so realistic to me. They're both part of world the other wants to be a part of, plus "A Whole New World" is my second favorite Disney song!
2) Rapunzel
How did the newest princess get so high on my list? This movie had a powerful effect on me. I am about to turn 18 next month and next year I'm going to college, to begin my life I suppose. I just connected with Rapunzel immediately because of this. I love how she's sweet, innocent, and super smart all at the same time! IMO she's smarter than Belle or Mulan, and she's almost as sweet as Snow White.
1) Ariel
Contrary to popular belief, Ariel's dream is not to get a prince, it is to be a human, and I believe that Eric just nicely fits into that dream. She is curious and wants to learn new things about a world that is mysterious to her. I love how she is determined to reach her dream no matter how impossible it seems, and even though she makes the mistake of asking for help from the sea-witch(basically learning the hard way) she still gets her dream.(everyone makes mistakes right!) She has been my favorite since I was younger, and it has stuck with me ever since.
