I made this article because many things changed on my list, although not very significantly, and new princess came.
Here is my link , if you want to compare. This one may not be organized and written so well, and I was slightly afraid that I will be repetetive, but I gave my best.
Disclaimer: I love all princesses, and even if you don't get such impression when I describe them, I really do.
10)Pocahontas
Old position: 9th
A beautiful, young woman is standing on a cliff. She jumps. She is fun, exciting, brave and smart. She is strong woman who knows what she wants............. And she is totally not Pocahontas. This is what Pocahotas could be, and what she should be, but she isn't.
So I watched Pocahontas yesterday, and I couldn't finished. Instead I went practising math. Then I washed the dishes. Then I tried to watch again and I ended up turning it off. But I was so, so sure she will be higher this time.
The reason why she's last is because, unlike Aurora, she had lot chances to be awesome. She had enough screentime, she had interesting story, but she failed. She's dull and her voice bores me to tears.
How much I relate to her: She is boring and indecisive, I'm not like that at all (hopefully)
9)Aurora
Old position: 8th
I couldn't force myself to watch her movie. But I watched some clips on youtube and she seems very charming, romantic and graceful. She's cute but nothing more. I don't know much about her and that's it. Once again, reason why she's higher than Pocahontas is because she had ony 18 minutes to impress me and she used them better.
How much I relate to her: I don't relate to her at all, I hate sleeping, i don't like Philip, I'm not naive, nor that sweet.
8)Ariel
Old position: 6th
As I watched her movie, I came to conclusion that she's not funny. At all. Yes, Sebastian is funny, so is Eric and sometimes even Flounder. But not her. I can't think of any funny thing she did or said. So there goes only thing I really liked about her. (Well, actually, I like that she's romantic, I guess, and she is mermaid so that adds few extra points)
And there are tons of things I don't like about her, like: leaving her rather fine family (seriously, I've seen worse) for a random dude she doesn't know, she goes to seawitch, I mean really?
How much I relate to her: Well, Ariel is one relatable character all in all. I can relate to her determination. Just like her, I can't be stopped once I start something. Oh, and I went to local witch once. I haven't sold my voice, though.
7)Rapunzel
Old position: She's the new one
Meh, I predicted that I won't be crazy about her and I was right. She was fifth in the beggining and she kept dropping. Well, again, I don't see what's there to like so much about her. She's pretty, little, blond thing that just stands there. She's slightly annoying and the only parts when I really like her is when she's serious or sad. Her happiness really, really annoys me. And her songs are just urgh. But I do love her in general, just prefer my top 6 much more.
How much I relate to her: I play guitar too? Yup, that will work.
6)Tiana
Old position: 4th
She dropped, but I still like her very, very much. I find refreshing that for once princess knows what she wants and doesn't sing about wanting "something more" and "finding her path". She is also funny in my opinion, she probably has best sense for humor of all princesses.I also like how she always faces reality and never gives up. Her optimistic attitude is really inspiring.
However, as I watched her, I have to say, horrible movie recently, I realized that she can be very pushy at the moments, trying to impose her lifestyle to the other people (her friends, Naveen,...)
How much I relate to her: Oh, I relate to her very, very much. I know very well how it is to struggle in world, and I can totally see why she's so obsessed with work. She just wants to succeed the fastest she can.
5)Snow White
Old position: 5th
She is one very enjoyable character. She's just so sweet and optimistic , and I always, but always feel bether when I watch her, forgetting all my problems. Her movie fills me with pure joy.
How much I relate to her: I don't, she is just one very unique, amazing character, with whom I don't have nothing in common
4)Belle
Old position: 7th
Well, yes, she climbed a lot. I just think she is meant to be high on my list. I guess I was in very bad mood when I watched Beauty and Beast last time. The thing is: she really reminds me of me at the points. And although I dislike her rather abstract wishes to have "adventure, somehwere" I still like so many things about her. I love her maturity, how nonchalantly ignores all other people who are dissatisfied with her odd behaviour, her sarcasm, the polite way she rejects rude people and, the most, her love for her father and her selflessnes.
How much I relate to her: I am a big bookworm (bet you never heard that), and often, because of my close-minded surrounding, I end up talking with a sheep about books I like.
3)Cinderella
Old position: 3rd
What to say, I simply adore my top 3. I watched her movie recently and now I love her even more. She is just one strong and beautiful person. I like every single thing about her: the way she handles her life, they way she behaves towards her horrible family, how she's thankful for every good moment in her life. I think she is the best role model, and I definitelly hope that my daughters would look up to her.
How much I relate to her: I can't relate to her, I can just admire her. I wish I'm more like her:more polite, more patient and more kind.
2)Jasmine
Old position:2nd
Ah, good, old Jasmine. Sometimes I'm wondering if I'm keeping her second just because of nostalgia. I seriously considered putting her third, but that just didn't seem right. Besides, there are tons of good things about her. I love how passionate she is. Also her self-confidence and strength are just inspiring. Jasmine is both beautiful and very smart, second smartest and prettiest in my opinion. Also I relate to her very much, and that's probably the main reasons why I like her.
How much I relate to her:She is the most relatable of all princesses to me. Her way of thinking and behaving is rather similar to mine.
1)Mulan
Old position: Seriously- first
Hehehe, heh. Ok, I'll do it just one more time, so here comes my praise: I adore Mulan! She is just so awesome. She is this clumsy, shy genius. I just love how she subtly does thing her way in the first half of the movie (how she did her chores, how she pulled that single hair when she disliked her hairdo, how she won in that game, how she took the doll from that rude boy). I also love her endless love for her family, sacrifice she makes and endless ammount of creativity she has. In the second half, I love how brilliantly she passed through the training, how she kicked those Huns' buts and how she used her brain, not physical strength, and here I'm starting to be repetetive so I'm gonna stop.
But just so you know I'm not so blindly obsessed with her, I'm going to discover you that there is few small thing I don't like about her. Like, at the end of the movie, her voice becomes very monotonous and she begins to be mopey and kind of exausting to watch. I also don't like how she refused job offered by emperor, seriously what's all the fuss about girl being equal to man and changing the world if she's coming home and doing nothing again. I just can't get over it, because I would use every chance to change one country, even if that wouldn't be very significant.
How much I relate to her: Well, I'm smart and creative (and, oh, so humble), just kidding. Well, I'm sure many of us experienced insecurity in front of important choices and wish to impress our family but stay ourselves, so yeah, just like Ariel she is very relatable .
Here is my link , if you want to compare. This one may not be organized and written so well, and I was slightly afraid that I will be repetetive, but I gave my best.
