After seeing Tangled, I decided that I needed to update the ol' list. The last time I updated my list was about 3 months ago. My list has changed quite a bit since then. I've watched all of the Princess movies over the past week, and came up with a brand spankin' new list. To mix things up a bit, I've included my favorite scene from that Princess' movie. Hope you enjoy!
*Spoiler Alert* Skip over Rapunzel if you haven't seen Tangled yet!

10. Princess Aurora
"Oh, dear. Why do they still treat me like a child?"
"Oh, dear. Why do they still treat me like a child?"

Nothing has really changed my opinion about Aurora. She was #9 on my last countdown. I can't watch her entire movie to save my life. Sure, the music is lovely and the animation is gorgeous, but I still can't stay conscience. I do however believe if we got a tad bit more screen time with her that she would be higher on my list. She's very sweet, and a longs for her dream to come true; don't we all want that?

♪If my heart keeps singing, will my song go winging to someone who'll find me, and bring back a love song to me?♪

My favorite scene from "Sleeping Beauty", is when Aurora is in the forest picking berries, and singing "I Wonder". It's such a wistful, romantic song. It's really the only time we get one-on-one time with Aurora, and get to know her a little bit.

9. Tiana
"Oh... All my years. No one's ever done anything like this for me."
"Oh... All my years. No one's ever done anything like this for me."

On my previous list, Tiana was in the top five. She's just too uptight, and I think they over-did the whole "southern" thing. I do admire her though. She's a dedicated, hard working young woman. She has a goal to open her own restauarnt, and busts her tail working two jobs in order to achieve it. I'm a lot like Tiana...we are both from the south, we're very close with our Mom's, and we're both hard workers. I like her, but she's just not "Princess-y" enough for my taste.
"You know the thing about good food? It brings folks together from all walks of life. It warms them right up and it puts little smiles on their faces."
"You know the thing about good food? It brings folks together from all walks of life. It warms them right up and it puts little smiles on their faces."

My favorite scene from "The Princess and the Frog", is at the very beginning, where Tiana is just a little girl, spending time with her family. It's one of the very few times we see a Princess interact with both parents. I just think it's sweet how much they all love each other.

8. Pocahontas
"No matter what happens to me, I'll always be with you, forever."
"No matter what happens to me, I'll always be with you, forever."

I've always loved Pocahontas. I hate putting her so low on the list, but I just like the rest of the Princesses more than her; but that doesn't mean I love her any less. I love the lifestyle that she has, and envy her for all the time she gets to spend outdoors; running through the forest, canoeing down the river. I love the passion she and John Smith have; to me, their love is more realistic than any of the other Princesses. And as sad as the end is, I like that it ends in such a dramatic way...it makes it special.
♪Listen with your heart...you will understand♪
♪Listen with your heart...you will understand♪

My favorite scene from this movie, is when Pocahontas and John Smith see each other for the first time. I love the way Pocahontas moves her body as she sneaks around, spying on John. I get chills everytime I see him jump out and point his gun at her, then slowly drops his weapon because he's staring at the most beautiful creature he has ever seen.

7. Mulan
"And reflect before you snack, uh, act."
"And reflect before you snack, uh, act."

I highly admire Mulan. She is so incredibly brave. If I were in her shoes, I don't think I'd be able to go through with it. I like that she's a quick thinker as well; like when she fires the canon at the mountain creating an avalanche, or when she's on the roof and uses her fan to defend herself. I would have freaked out in both situations, and been forced to take a Xanax to calm my nerves! Anyways, she is pretty much kickass.
"So you'll die for honor?"
"So you'll die for honor?"

My favorite scene is definitely when Mulan decides to go to war in her Fathers place. The scene is so dramatic, and full of emotion. The music makes it even better. It's empowering to watch.

6. Jasmine
"Then maybe I don't want to be a princess anymore!"
"Then maybe I don't want to be a princess anymore!"

I had really forgotten how much I like Jasmine until I watched "Aladdin" a few days ago. The girl has balls, and I love that about her. She speaks her mind no matter what, has one of the coolest pets ever, she has awesome long hair, and I absolutely LOVE her outfits...the blue and red one, NOT the purple dress she wears during the royal announcement.
♪A dazzling place I never knew♪
♪A dazzling place I never knew♪

Ok, ok...I know it's extremly cliché, but this is my favorite scene. I know the song is cheesy and we're all kind of tired of it, but they're flying around on a magic carpet! They both look like they're having so much fun.

5. Rapunzel
"I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?"
"I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?"

I seriously love this girl. She has so many of the qualities that I like to see in a "Princess"; naivety, hopeful, adventurous, talented, sweet personality, sassiness, and of course pretty hair! I love her story, style, voice...everything!
"Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?"
"Did I ever tell you I've got a thing for brunettes?"

My favorite scene is definitely the end. I gasped so loud and hard when Flynn cut her hair off that I almost swallowed my tongue. Rapunzel proves how much she loves Flynn by pleading with Mother Gothel to let her heal him, and promising to go away with her. And when she finally meets her parents at the end, it's just so sweet. I can't wait for this to come out on DVD so I can watch it over and over again!

4. Ariel
♪What would i give to live where you are♪
♪What would i give to live where you are♪

Ariel has always been close to my heart. "The Little Mermaid" came out when I was four years old, and I can still remember my first time watching it; I was in complete awe. I became obsessed with wanting to become a mermaid. I had shirts with Ariel on it, panties, nightgowns, and Ariel Barbie dolls. She's fun, determined, adventurous, sweet, and has an amazing voice.
"Gee, you must have really been through something."
"Gee, you must have really been through something."

One of my many favorite scenes, is when Eric and Ariel officially meet. I love how nervous she acts as she tries to fix her hair as he approaches her. It's just a sweet, innocent moment between the two of them.

3. Belle
♪New and a bit alarming...who'd have ever thought that this could be?♪
♪New and a bit alarming...who'd have ever thought that this could be?♪

Are you shocked? I'm a bit shocked myself. For as long as I can remember, Belle has been my #2 favorite. I still love her just as much, so don't be disappointed *coughs*ppv*coughs*. I really admire Belle for wanting more than what was expected of her in her town. She just didn't fit in the same mold as everyone else, and had no problem embracing that. I love her relationship with the Beast; how it grows from hate to like, and then from like to love.
"I didn't mean any harm..."
"I didn't mean any harm..."

It was difficult to pick a favorite scene from this movie because I have so many; I decided on the West Wing scene, because it's such a major part of the story and creates a chain of events...Belle runs away after the Beast frightens her, then the Beast saves her from the wolves, then they begin to bond, become friends, and eventually fall in love. This animation here is stunning and the music gives me the chills.

2. Snow White
♪When hearts are high the time will fly, so whistle while you work!♪
♪When hearts are high the time will fly, so whistle while you work!♪

Yep, the one that started it all is now my second favorite Princess. I loved her as a small child, but as I grew up she began to annoy me with how perfectly sweet she was. Now that I'm grown and watch her movie, I truly appreciate it more; the film itself AND Snow White as a character. I find it simply impossible to dislike her! She is so sweet it almost turns me into a diabetic! She's innocent, beautiful, caring, helpful, obedient, and the list goes on. The relationship between the Prince and Snow White might not be realistic, but come on...who watches a fairy tale expecting anything less? That's why I love it, and her; it's a fantasy!
♪One song, my heart keeps singing, of one love only for you♪
♪One song, my heart keeps singing, of one love only for you♪

I just adore the scene at the beginning where Snow White meets the Prince. She's so shy and sweet, and he sings one of the most beautiful love songs to her. I especially love the part where she is standing behind the curtain, looks down at her rags, then fusses with her hair, trying to look pretty, when she really needn't bother; she is already beautiful!

1. Cinderella
"They can't order me to stop dreaming."
"They can't order me to stop dreaming."

No one will EVER touch my heart the way this Princess has. She has been in my life since I was three years old. Her tale is not an easy one; her life was full of pain and heartache. Her step-family never treated her like a human being, but she never let that get to her; she didn't change because of the way she was treated. She still greeted each morning with a smile, and a positive attitude that someday her dreams would come true; and they did. I love everything about her. She is sweet, caring, hopeful, romantic, sarcastic at times, and beautiful on the inside AND out. In my opinion, she is the ultimate Princess.

♪Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through♪

This was another hard one to pick a favorite scene from. It's my all time favorite movie, so this was not easy for me! I love the beginning when she wakes up and sings "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes". Her little bedroom is small and cozy, and has a breathtaking view of the Castle. It warms my heart to hear her sing, and to see her animal friends help her tidy up and get dressed. It's just a precious scene to me.
