A petition started by a local college student asking Disney to look at the idea of making a movie starring a princess with a disability has reached its signature goal.

WGRZ Staff, WGRZ 7:40 p.m. EST January 4, 2015

Burgandi Rakoska started the petition on change.org in October, and reached her original goal of 5,000 signatures Sunday. The goal however has now been increased to 7,500.

Rakoska, a student at SUNY Fredonia, has spina bifida and has always been inspired to achieve by the Disney princesses.

2 On Your Side has been told her idea was forwarded to top Disney executives.

	kristenfan10109 said: @melody42: I believe we do because there is so much you can learn from them especially strength yes the other disney princesses have it but it's a whole different ball game having to adapt to a body or mind that's different from the norm figuring out how to live with it while still trying to live a normal life I should know because I have one myself and I wouldn't trade it to be normal any day! posted over a year ago.
