Bolt woke up first thing in the morning. His stomach growled loudly. All of the others woke up to the funny niose. "Sorry," Bolt replied. "I'm starving." "I feel like a wolf," Lightning said bounding over. "Because first of all we have to hunt and smell out food, second, I don't have my bandanna on, third, I have pointed ears and a bushy tail." She wags her tail once. "C'mon. We need to start off. We're far from camp." Duke said stretching. Everybody follows Duke's orders because he is the leader of these pet groups. He wanted to keep everyone safe. They were ready to travel.

Back at the camp, all of the other kids held the collars or bandannas that their dogs and cats wore. They argued with their parents just like Penny, who didn't come out of her room. "Lightning risked her life for mine. She broke her back. If it wasn't only a disk break she'd be dead, so would I if she hadn't pushed me out of the wooden plank's way." Danny argued. He rushed to his little RV room. Every kid Penny met was arguing. They finally went in.

"Look!" Duke shouted. He lunged forward steadily. The others followed. They found another camp. They slowed down. Their stomachs were hurting and growling for food. The campers saw them. They went in their trailers and RVs to get them food and water. Dogs and cats came by and looked at the newcomers. The humans came out with crisp dog food and cat food along with fresh, icy water. The eating and drinking pets ignored the ones from the camp. When they were done, they rushed away. Following every scent mark, they ran.

Four hours later.

They were only ten feet away from their camp. They walked the rest of the way. Once they were with the camp, they fell to the ground, exhausted. The kids saw their dogs and cats and rushed to get them. They all picked their pets up, and took them into the RVs and trailers. It was quite cold. They needed some extra warmth and food. Everybody carressed their companions as they heated up and got to eat more food. They stayed with their kids, relaxing and drowsing in the warm rooms.

Two hours later.

It was darkening as the sun settled beautifully. Dinner was eaten and the families, the kids especially, were happy to have their pets back. The cats were awake and they had their collars on. The dogs stayed asleep for a while. Penny walked into the little room to see her dog. She carried his collar in one hand and a little dog dish in her other hand. Bolt was lying on Penny's bed. He awoke happily and wagged his tail. Bolt stretched, crawled to where Penny was sitting, and ate the dog food. "Here, Bolt." Penny said placing his collar around his neck. Bolt panted happily and licked Penny's face. He whimpered and Penny laughed. It was great to be back.

8. It was leaving day. Everybody said goodbye and hugged and nuzzled each other. They all ate their own breakfasts in the camping vehicles. Everybody was sad but happy to go home. It was a good (and crazy) camping trip. Let's have our friends home and happy.
