The cast of Everybody Loves Raymond is reacting to the shocking death of Sawyer Sweeten, who played one of the young twins on the beloved series.

“I’m shocked, and terribly saddened, by the news about Sawyer,” Ray Romano said (via the Daily Mail). “He was a wonderful and sweet kid to be around. Just a great energy whenever he was there. My heart breaks for him, his family, and his friends during this very difficult time.”

Sawyer‘s older sister Madylin, who was also on the show, confirmed to Us Weekly that he committed suicide.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that the hit series "Everybody Loves Raymond" will be the 2014 television inductee into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame. The show will be honored at the 2014 NAB Show Television Luncheon, April 7 in Las Vegas. Cast members expected to attend the induction include Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts, Brad Garrett and Monica Horan, along with the show's creator, Phil Rosenthal.

Ray Romano stepped out with his family on Sunday for a charity fundraiser, the first time he's been seen in public since the tragic suicide of his young co-star Sawyer Sweeten.

The Everybody Loves Raymond star arrived with his wife for the 12th Annual Stuart House Benefit in West Hollywood.

Days earlier the actor led tributes to 19-year-old Sawyer, who played his son on the hit show, after he took his own life while visiting a family member's home in Texas on Thursday morning.
