Chapter Fourteen
"Insurgence"
Kara Treadstone and Tamrin Becker - Unknown Location
"So you actually saw it happen, yet they didn't see you, they didn't hear you, you couldn't touch them and you were actually down the street in a house asleep?" Tamrin called as quietly as possible so that Kara could still hear in the next room.
"Pretty much" she confirmed "Even if I did know how to do it, I don't see how it could help us out of this."
"Are you kidding?" Tamrin replied incredulously, but suddenly went quiet. She wouldn't let herself give in to temptation a second time. "Just try and fall asleep again."
Eamon Tullidge - Vereor Barrus Cab Co., New York
"Shit." Eamon said, a little too loudly as he walked up the street to find the cab company roped off and goverment soldiers emptying the building's content into several vehicles. "Things are about to get messy" he murmured to himself, slipping down a nearby alleyway.
He had an unbearable headache and his face was still bloody from Sylar's attempt to kill him, the blood from his nose and that of the many soldiers. The pain made him rather tentative to use his ability... but he knew he had to.
Jessica Sanders - Vareor Barrus Cab Co., New York
On the opposite side of the roped-off street, Jessica approached a guard near the divide and loitered near a wall.
"Hey sweety" she cooed seductively, as the masked soldier approached "What's uh... what's going on?".
"I'm afraid I can't divulge that information ma'am" came a woman's voice in reply.
"Whatever" Jessica said, looking quickly around to make sure no one was watching, before grabbing her and throwing her into a nearby, secluded alleyway.
Kara Treadstone - Unknown Location
Kara sighed, having been staring at the blank ceiling of her cell for what must have been the last 6 hours. Her mind was completely blank, she was sick of going over and over what could be happening to everyone she knew and cared about right then. Giving up, she hopped out of bed and called Tamrin's name, wondering if she was still awake. No answer came, so she knelt on her bed and put her ear to the wall to listen.
Her head went through it.
After a momentary glimpse of the inside of the wall, Kara found herself looking at Tamrin, lying wide awake on her bed, staring at the ceiling as she had been. A flush of excitement rushed through her and she shouted "I did it! Tamrin, can you see me!?" but Tamrin merely stared, unresponsive.
Pulling her head back through the wall, Kara looked down to see herself lying asleep on her bed. Time for the grand tour, Kara thought as she stepped effortlessly through the heavily reinforced door of her cell.
Eamon Tullidge - Vereor Barrus Cab Co., New York
A manhole directly outside the entrance of the cab offices suddenly blew high into the air with extreme force.
"Stations!" yelled a voice as a team of what looked like 30 soldiers gathered around the manhole as a violent wind continued to explode out of it.
The noise was so great that no one heard Eamon being blown over the building from behind, to land right behind the gathered soldiers. "Boo" he whispered into the ear of the one nearest to him, before blowing them all across the street, away from him. Two or three hitting the current coming from the manhole as they went and blowing high into the air, to smash into the building opposite much higher than the rest.
"Impressive" came a woman's voice from behind, and Eamon turned to see another masked soldier walking towards him, clapping her hands. "We may be able to help each other" she said, holding up a hand to stop Eamon as he was about to raise his own. "Jessica Sanders" she said, holding out a hand after removing her mask to show an equally blood-stained face. Before the pair, turning as one, advanced on a single soldier that had survived the impact across the street.
Kara Treadstone - Unknown Location
"Mohinder!" she gasped after entering an incredibly fortified cell to find him strapped to what looked like a horizontal stretcher with a straight-jacket on and thick metal bars supporting him. He looked beyond hope, simply staring at the black stretch of wall opposite him, his face lined with unimaginable guilt and despair.
She walked down the hall to what turned out to be a cafeteria, full of at least 70 masked guards. There was something unnatural about them, not just because of their sheer numbers, but it was their incredible lack of individuality. No one was talking and each sat at a long table eating the same meal - which turned out to be some cheap mixture of oats and beans. As she walked, she wondered briefly whether their masks were fitted with some kind of thermal device that let them see her and in a moment of panic, saw one stand up and walk towards her, but they merely walked straight through her.
Jessica, Micah and Maya - Tim's Diner, New York
"Why did you make me come here?" Jessica demanded in an undertone, sitting in a booth opposite Micah and Maya.
In response, Maya merely passed a cell phone across the table to her. Picking it up, Jessica read:
meet me at tims diner 2hrs time
"Who sent this?" Jessica asked, her eyes flicking to her reflection in the window before meeting Maya's with a dangerous look. But Maya was looking over Jessica's shoulder at a woman who had just walked up behind them.
"I did and I need your help - I've got a plan to save them" Moira Faulkner said in an undertone, sitting down next to Jessica.

Peter managed to get a couple of blocks away from the car park. He stopped in an alley. He thought:I either got Claires ability or I have Sylars... Surely I didn't absorb more than one of his abilities??? Only one way to find out...
Peter looked around to see what if he could test if he had more than one of Sylars abilities, he had regeneration which was one. Then he saw so a can of spinach... He focused on the spinach and tried to grab it telekinetically... After five seconds of hard trying, the spinach can came flying into his hands...
"No way!" he said amazed that it actually worked and a smile came to his face because deep down he was happy to be special among people with abilities again... Then his smile slowly slipped off his face as he realized something bad... That he must have the hunger... He thought:Why! Why! Why was it so easy for me too absorb all of his abilities!?
