Plot: Few anime's have captivated me the way this one did. It's plot about two brothers trying to restore what they lost was beautiful. This anime as i'm sure most know doesn't follow the original manga but does that mean it was a failure? no. This version, even though the studio had to come up with a plot all their own it was very well done in my opinion. I love how for me at least you can't even tell when it deviates from the manga. So don't think this version isn't worth trying just because it doesn't follow the manga.
Characters: The character's of this series were very well done and developed. You really felt for all of them, even the antagonist who are arguably not truly evil. Edward Elric was my personal favorite because of all the different emotions he brought on, but almost all of them were great. What can i say the characters were compelling.
Animation: Full Metal Alchemist's animation was also well done. It was crisp and realistic looking almost always. I can't say much except that it was good.
Music: Ost ( soundtrack) wise Full metal Alchemist was exceptionally carried out. The theme "Brothers" was my favorite of all.
Openings: Most of the openings had gorgeous deep songs that i thought fit the show very well. I honestly don't have a favorite, same for the endings.
Flaws: I can't think of any flaws really for this series, except that some episodes in the beginning weren't the best but the series got so good after that i can't complain. The movie "Conquer of Shamballa" yes wasn't as good as it could have been but i enjoyed it all in all.
Ratings: Overall this is probably my favorite anime at the moment and i hope to make room for Brotherhood in my life. I give this a perfect 10/10.
