Prayers for My Wife
“My wife is my strength and stronghold, my joy and glory, my hearts chief desire and the delight of my eye” (Ezekiel 24.16, 25).
1. Thank You, Holy Father, for giving me a wife who is beautiful, attractive, chaste, modest, and unmarried, not emotionally tied to anyone else (Gen.24.16).
2. Thank You for my promised bride that is attractive and beautiful to look upon (Gen 26:7). Help me, Lord, to be her husband, friend and lover.
3. Show me how to help her to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleheartedness (1Tim 6.11).
4. Teach me to hear her heart. I want to speak to her inner woman so that she may keep an incorruptible, unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit (1Pe 3.4).
5. Show me, Father, how to build her up in love, truth, and grace so that she may continue as a Spirit-filled, Christ-like, true, wise, understanding, prudent, servant of God. (Pro 18.22; 19.14)
6. I will burn in my heart for her and her alone. All of my sensual passion and sexual desire will be for my wife. I will love, cherish, honor, and esteem her.
7. Father, help me to make her feel safe, secure, stable and protected.
8. Show me, Father, how to meet her needs from her viewpoint and to be her covering in all things.
9. Teach me how to discover her love language and to communicate my love or her in her language.
10. Teach me how to be a better listener. I want to learn how to set aside whatever I’m doing and pay attention to her
11. Help me, Lord, to confess all of the ways that I sin against my wife. Convict me when I use sarcastic or rude words to humiliate her, ignore her, disrespect her, or fail to protect her by taking sides against her.
