Chapter 19: Scars And Souvenirs
She heard the siren, though she payed no heed, she continued walking through the town, heading anwhere away from here. She had come to the border between Central and a forest bordering the town. She felt a small tinge of guilt eat away at her heart, she felt horrible for leaving Mason just so she could get away from Edward. She wasn't even sure if it was Mason she had feelings for, maybe she just wanted to be with him since he remined her of her past love. Nevertheless, she trudged forward into the woods, leaving her past at the edge of town.
"FUllMETAL!!! WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID?! Roy scolded as he watched the searchlights flood the area of their building. He smacked the back of Edward's head with his knuckles. "HEY! CUT IT OUT YOU JERK!" He forced his head upward, talking through gritted teeth. Mustang stared menacingly down at the pint-sized alchemist, seething terribly. Winry struck him across the back of the head again, Alphonse standing with his steel arms crossed dissaprovingly. Mason, during all this turmoil, was sitting with his legs kicked out and his elbows on his knees with his hands draped between his legs. He was depressed horribly, he couldn't beleive Edward could say those horrible things to her, didn't he know what she was going through? Then it hit him. No. No, he didn't know, Edward had no idea about the dreams, or how she felt. He himself was the only one who knew anything about it.
"Mason?" A feminine voice asked from above. He looked up to find a concered blonde woman staring down at him with a military uniform adorning her body.
"Hm?" Was his pathetic answer.
"You're the only one who seems to be depressed about the situation, do you know anything about where she could have gone?"
Mason sighed and shook his head, playing with his thumbs.
"Are you sure?" Now the rest of the room had ceased their feud and had tuned into their conversation. They were all pressuriong him, trying to squeeze the answers out of him. He rolled his eyes and handed Riza the replica doll, putting his head in his hands.
"I don't know where she went, but i comforted her last night on the roof." Everybody jumped back an inch, alarming Mason.
"Not like that! Get your minds outta the gutter, Edward had upset her and she came ti me with her issues." They all sighed in releif, save for Ed, who stared Mason down.
"What did i do to make her mad?!" Edward challenged. Mason rolled his eyes and stood from the bench with a huff.
"Where'do ya wanna start? First you mangle her heart, then say you wish you had never met her, boy, you're smooth." Edward threw a punch, Mason catching it in mid-swing.
"There's no use in fighting." Roy separated the boys and turned off the flood lights, watching his men flock into the town to search for the missing girl.
Charlotte had created a place for her to camp, lying down her sheets and comforter. She had stolen more than just pillows and comforters, she had taken various blades and a pistol to protect herself from potential danger. How she could escape with all that stuffed into a bag was beyond her. Nonetheless, she shimmied into her homemade sleeping bag, staring up at the moon. "....I miss him..." She said to nobody in particular. "He's not here to protect me this time..."
"Blake, what's the matter with you?"
Her arm travled up to his face, feeling with the back of her hand for a temperature.
"You seem tense hun." The blonde boy batted her hand away from his increasingly irritated face.
"What's your problem?" She inquired shrewdly as he punched her square in the jaw, knocking her backward into a murky pond. She held herself up on two shaking limbs, trying desperately to make any sense of what had just happened. A clicking sound sent shivers down her spine as Blake stepped into view, smiling wickedly. His large blue eyes looked more like large saphires than irises.
"Bye" He pulled the trigger of the loaded pistol with no form of mercy on his face.
"NOOOOOOO!!!!"
