I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Flashbacks and Volantis filming confirmed, and Game of Thrones heads to Osuna
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
news is pouring out of Spain these days, with cameras rolling at the Alcázar of Seville and sightings galore.
Additionally, at a special event at Teatro Central de Sevilla this week, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss spoke frankly on a number of topics, talking the woes of adapting the novels for the audience and confirming the presence of flashbacks.
D&D confirmed that there will be flashbacks in season 5, despite their previous assertions that there would never be flashbacks on the show. This is line with leaked info from a few months ago, regarding the casting of characters such as Maggy the Frog and young Cersei.
Also confirmed: the Cordoba filming is representing the Free City of Volantis, with the Roman bridge standing in for the Free City’s Long Bridge.
As for favorite characters, they have a hard time choosing. They especially appreciate Maisie (Williams) and Sophie (Turner) and their characters, since they were cast very young. The producers also named Tyrion and Theon as characters they love.
D&D love Seville, the shooting locations and the local fans, and would love to return next year. It is quite expensive to film in that area but coming back next year is a possibility.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is the most curious about what’s going to happen in the future with his character-  but they don’t answer his questions. Peter Dinklage, on the other hand, has never asked them about Tyrion’s future.
in season 5. The answer on the subject was unclear, but the vibe the attendees got from the producers was a strong maybe, leaning toward yes.
George R.R. Martin has never asked them to change the material; he is happy with the changes generally, particularly the Bronn-Sandor scene in “Blackwater.”
In other Seville news, this photo of Jerome Flynn and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau turned up on Twitter. It looks like Bronn and Jaime have secured the Dornish guards’ costumes, and are up to no good. It seems like this may be how they sneak into the palace and find Myrcella, as this leak hints.
As filming winds down in Seville, it kicks into gear in the town of Osuna, Spain, where cast members such as Emilia Clarke, Nathalie Emmanuel and Iain Glen are already being spotted.

Director David Nutter is in Osuna now as well. He’s handling episodes 9 and 10, which gives us a clue as to the Osuna shooting’s significance.

Mayor Rosario Andujar confirms that Osuna shooting begins on October 16th and runs through the 30th. Several hundred extras from the area will participate in the filming, which will include the town’s well-known Plaza de Toros, believed to be standing in for Daznak’s Pit.

Doran has been spotted in costume. It’s on the comments on the last Season 5 news article. It seems more than newsworthy enough for this article.
Wow. It’s great to have such a clear look on the costumes, but here’s something more interesting: you can see they are filming episode nine. This means Jaime will still be on Dorne by the climax of the season. So, if there was any doubt, it seems there won’t be a siege of Riverrun.
What about a flashback within a dream that also contains a prophecy? I feel like they’re splitting hairs on what they’re going to count as a “flashback,” but Cersei dreaming about Maggy the Frog as a cold open (likely with Cersei waking up just before the theme song) makes sense. So that’d technically only break the last 2/3.
I put it in another post but, Michiel Huisman is also in Sevilla:
And on an interesting note, looks like Jaime and Bronn will be still in Dorme by episode 9: https://twitter.com/alicia_sg89/status/522737091856576512
What on earth are they doing with Jaime’s character…
Everyone’s known for months that Jaime will be on Dorne, so I don’t understand the constant shock. People should just get used to it, and criticize or praise the decision when it actually airs.
Great interview with Benioff and Weiss, and awesome pictures, both in the main post and in the ones provided by H. Stark in the comments (thank you for linking to those, H. Stark)!. After a bit of a dry spell, we’ve gotten a ton of news in the past week or so. I love it!
Yeah, the pictures certainly seem to imply that Jaime will still be in Dorne in Episode 9 (although I suppose it’s not necessarily confirmed – they could have been filming scenes from multiple episodes on that day). If so, that’s a very interesting development.
I never expected to see the siege of Riverrun this season once we got news that Jaime was going to Dorne. On a personal note, I won’t really miss it, as I view it as a mop-up campaign with intrinsically low stakes that wasn’t going to work on screen as it did on the page (and with the Blackfish already on the run and LS in limbo, the other major consequences of his campaign either have already happened or are in flux). However, my tentative predictions for the season’s outline did incorporate the theory that Jaime would leave Dorne around Episode 6 or 7 to return to King’s Landing (with or without Myrcella), have some kind of falling out with Cersei, and then leave the capital again, possibly to join up with Brienne. If he’s still in Dorne by Episode 9, then he clearly won’t be getting back to King’s Landing before Cersei’s Walk of Shame – which we know will be in Episode 9 or 10 (probably 10). That suggests that Dorne will in fact be a fairly major arc this season rather than just a quick trip to retrieve Myrcella followed by the reveal of Doran’s plans. It also opens up a whole new realm of possibilities as to where Jaime’s story could go.
i’m not complaining, i’m wondering what they’re doing with his character
I didn’t picture Jaime leaving as soon as you did, but I though he would be back in King’s Landing or the Riverlands (it doesn’t really matter) by episode 9 or 10, in order to meet Brienne, thus resuming his book story exactly where we left it at the end of ADWD. Of course, that would assume they are doing Lady Stoneheart. If they aren’t, who knows. I still want him to meet Brienne again, even if it’s in other circumstances, just because… well, I really like them as a duo. And a couple… Yes, I ship them, okay?
This bit of the D&D interview is really interesting… and odd.
“Why have you made some changes to actors, like Daario or the Mountain? ”
Benioff: ” We did not change Daario ” (sounded sharp, almost angry) ”
Now I’m wondering whether Jaime travels to Dorne in TWOW. This season will make my head hurt.
I’d like to see Jaime and Brienne meet up again at some point on the show as well. And I believe that they well. But if it won’t be this season, then I’m fine with it. I trust the writers immensely at this point. (And there’s nothing wrong with shipping Jaime and Brienne! Nothing at all).
Great find! Doran’s costume looks terrific – as have most of the Dornish costumes so far. Now the only ones that we’re missing are the Sand Snakes, and I expect that someone will get a photo of them sooner rather than later.
Not everyone. People, like you who obsess over every bit of news that leaks out, or that have visted and cared to venture into show spoiler territory with these similair posts, have known about it. Do not assume that everyone knows. There is no need to act righteous to those who dislike or question the change, they don’t need to see the end product to form an opinion of disapproval having some inclination of where his arc is headed in S5 from where it goes in the books.
“It looks like Bronn and Jaime have secured the Dornish guards’ costumes, and are up to no good. It seems like this may be how they sneak into the palace and find Myrcella, as this leak hints.”
What? The Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and his knight sneaking around like Abbott and Costello to steal the princess away? I just don't understand….
I hope they turn a corner and come across Hotah with his glaive, and maybe a few snakes, waiting for them. Then, like Yara, they will scream and "Run away! Run away!"
Other than that, this is great news……
I’m assuming he misunderstood the question or something and was saying they didn’t changed Daario’s personality between S3 and S4, but it’s really funny for some reason for me to imagine Michael Huisman suddenly coming on stage, then removing his face to reveal he’s actually Ed Skrein.
This influx of photos and information is fantastic! However my biggest question is where are they hiding the Sansnakes?!?
I really like the look they are going for with Doran! It’s the same sort of “robe” as Oberyn was wearing, but in a much more discreet color palette. Suits the character very well! Now, I’m just waiting for the first pictures of Sand Snakes in costumes…
No signs of Bronn in this episode 9 scene, maybe he has gone the way of Arys? Jamie does look rather sad. Maybe Jamie will stick around and fill out the role of Balon Swann and go trekking with Areo and a snake to hunt someone down? I always imagined that the group meeting Darkstar would be an awesome showdown, having Jamie there would make it even better especially if its revealed to him that it was Areo that killed Bronn rather than who(darkstar or whoever) they tell him…..
Am I the only one surprised about including Volantis? I thought they would just skip it.
Perhaps still some hope in meeting fAegon there?
Oops, i put my spoiler in a quote instead. It wont seem to let me go back and edit it…
This bit of the D&D interview is really interesting… and odd.
“Why have you made some changes to actors, like Daario or the Mountain? ”
Benioff: ” We did not change Daario ” (sounded sharp, almost angry) ”
It looks like there is some bad blood btw Ed Skrein and D&D
I have to disagree here. Of curse people are free to say what ever they like here as long the mods are okay with it (and for the most part they are okay with pretty much everything.) So if someone dislikes or questions a change of curse they can say so, but I have to ask on what the dislike or questioning is based on when it comes to something as general as Jaimie going to Dorne. We know pretty much nothing about the actual arc that comes with it. It could turn out bad, average or good we just don’t know. Let’s just wait and see how it turns out.
Lolys just to kill off Bronn in Dorne? I think not. Also there’s a book scene I would like to see in which Bronn names his son after Tyrion and Cersei loses her shit
I think people have the right to be concerned over Jaime staying in Dorne up until episode 9. Jaime is one of the more interesting characters in the show and him in Dorne for that long limits his opportunities to interact with other characters in Kings Landing and the rest of Westeros. It’s almost like Dany being stuck in Mereen.
But if it is more than simple speculation that J & B are raiding the castle like two goofs in a buddy comedy, we have every right to be gravely concerned. It went so well last time….
I don’t say they don’t, but again, what do we really know about Jaime’s arc in Dorne? The answer is not much and that’s putting it nicely. Maybe him staying in Dorne will be fun. Who knows? It might limit his interactions with other parts of the story, that’s true, but we know for years now that the show is/will be deferent from the books. I just it’s time to accept that.
Emilia Clarke has the most stunning smile ever! <3
