Reporters express frustration after Jessica\'s recent fan signing event

As mentioned before, Jessica, attended her fan signing event as the creative director for her fashion company, \'BLANC & ECLARE\', held at the Lotte Department store on the 22nd. Although she had spent a meaningful time with her fans, it seems some reporters left the event frustrated and angry.

Sports Donga even went as far as to release a lengthy article titled, \'How did Jessica become an outcast?\'. The reporter goes on to describe being invited to cover this \'BLANC & ECLARE\' pop-up store event and fan signing, but leaving the event wondering how it could have proceeded such a way when Jessica needs all the help she can get to make a good impression for her fashion company. The reporter writes that Jessica was late and the event started late. In addition, the press was told they couldn\'t actually take pictures once the fan signing was underway, and was only given a 10 second time period to take photos for a brief photo-time before the signing. 

This apparently left some of the press angry, and they thus \'boycotted\' in their own way by not releasing photos from the event.

It\'s said there was no actual organizer or someone who was in charge to take care of various issues, and that it seems to have been solely handled by Jessica and \'BLANC & ECLARE\' with no involvement from

SM Entertainment. The reporter goes onto question if this is Jessica\'s way of drawing the line with her agency and whether she\'s going to be able to keep this up.

In response to the article, one netizen wrote, "Guess we won\'t be able to see Jessica since she\'s making reporters angry", but others felt that the problem lies with the reporters rather than Jessica and the event: "Are you trying to show off what happens when celebrities piss off reporters? Are you so desperate to show off the power you have?", "Why is it that everyone else is saying the fan signing went well, and you reporters seem to be the only ones with the problem?", and "I heard because of the reporters throwing a fuss, the fan signing time got shortened. Don\'t you think this is far from the ideal act of an reporter. You should be embarrassed."

Moral of the story it is never good to be late doesn\'t matter if you are a celebrity or a business women

"Boycotted"?! I guess they are most likely freelancers because news agencies do not appreciate empty-handed or journalists with attitude. Invitation means you can choose to attend or not.. No one is dragging you to the event. As a reporter, you are suppose to look for news not wait for them to knock on your door. If your news agency asked you to cover an event, then it\'s a job you are being paid for And thus you shouldn\'t complain. Some reports even stalk celebrities. If you value your time then you can simply leave the event and cover something else. I know that being on time is important, but it\'s not like everything goes as planned especially if you are organizing an event on your own. Besides, if jessica is known to arrive late as some would say, then why complain in the first place? ( a reporter made a report on how he felt and did because the event didn\'t run as he desires.. Guess he is the kind of self centered reporter)

This is why Korea ranks first in suicide rate. She\'s only human. Just leave her alone. If you can\'t say anything good about her than just shut your mouth. Ok, so those stuff happened to the reporters, but did they have to write an "angry article" about Jessica just bc their movements are limited? Look, i know these guys are trying to find news, but if the rules said pics for a limited time, you should follow the rules they set up. They

Korean press...arrogant self important pricks...  another reason Jessica should stay away from Korea. She doesn\'t need them. Why bother with a small country of whiners when she has millions of ardent fans in China, SE Asia and the Western world. 

I feel like this is just a mess like everything she\'s involved in sadly :( I gather that it was suppose to put out to the public that a pop up store for her brand but instead it turned into a fan signing event. I mean, if the store was being promoted why werent the reporters allowed to take pictures or ask questions. Catering to the reporters for a while would be better than the fans at least for a little while. And the fans leaving those comments for the reporters are ridiculous. I would check reports from the news about a business before fans  especially in this situation where the fans are bias 

This is an event for her personally owned company, I repeat owned company. Shes not representing herself as a K-pop Idol. She is a business women now and she will get more criticism from people for being unprofessional. She was late, and I understand traffic is horrible in Korea, but she should know that already. If she planned more, then she would arrive safely, and on time. If there is a good reason for why she was late, as an owner of a company and a business women, she should have explained and owned up to it.  People are more understanding if you communicate with them, which from the sounds of it, she didn\'t.

Another matter is the reporters were invited to this event to do their jobs. They paid to get to the location, carried their equipment (bulky and expensive) and waited for a business women who was unorganised. I understand its her first time, but knowing that she should have been more careful about the whole situation, and she should have spoken with them before or afterwords about this matter. Its just as unprofessional, or even more so for Jessica to not address the problem or give an alternative solution, as the reporters were for \'boycotting\'. Imagine, if this women wasn\'t Jessica and you came to this event, carried heavy and uncomfortable equipment and waited around to do your job, and once she gets there she does not explain anything to you? Would you not get the least bit annoyed? Even after that, she didn\'t allow them to do their jobs properly, only given very very limited amount of time (I doubt it was just 10  seconds, unless she just stood for them and then walked away .....) to try and make the best out of their day there. 

I understand this was a fan focused event, and yes she did make some good decisions like keeping the fans as her priority, however you cannot expect to invite people and then neglect them entirely. Its a waste of their time and money ..... anyone would get annoyed. She choose to give her fans time which is great, but she should have stayed longer afterwards with the reporters and solved the situation (yes, she should have known it was a situation without them needing to explain that to her). She probably is busy, but if she can afford to be late, she should learn to give up at least a few minutes of her time to them for the mistakes she has made (being unorganised). Its her first time, and shes alone... I get that, however as much as you sympathise with her, its good for her to own up when shes wronged people. I\'m sure if she at least explained, or talked to them, then the reporters would have given her some sympathy and understanding too. She disregared them almost as much as they are now disregarding her. If she is paying them, then they shouldn\'t be boycotting, and just release the photos, however its silly to believe that the reporters had no right to be angry. When peole feel mistreated, they will rebel a bit. Its not that they\'re asking her to kiss up to them at all, for those who are saying that.... There is nothing to imply that.

Designers don\'t do fan signing events. That\'s for idols. That\'s what she was there as.

She was there for the fans, and I did state that. However it was a pop-up store event for her company. She was promoting her company, plus she organised it, so she is responsible for the event and its professionalism. She invited them to help promote so she has to act like a business women at least with them. I didn\'t go into whether she is using SNSDs or her idol status, because I honestly don\'t know if she is or not/ dont know much about it. However, either way, this is an event involving her company, and its promotion, correct? Then business is involved, and she is a business women, whether she is a good or bad business women.

Don\'t let them in if you don\'t want them to take photos.

If you let them in, then not let them take photos or write anything then that\'s just bs. They know they\'re reporters, they know they\'re coming, no surprise... can you call reporters then say you can\'t take photos?

If I was working for the press, which I was, I\'d be pissed as hell. They\'re there for a job and they want their content and work done, but saying you got 10mins to get what you want and GTFO. Not on.

Jessica isn\'t just an idol, she\'s a business woman & things like being late aren\'t acceptable. I\'m not riding her ass becuz she was late but it is what is it, & she\'s known for being late on top of that. 

Either way, every party has to share the blame. I\'m saying this because people love to play the blame game but it can be your fault as well.
