I HAVEN'T SEEN SILVERSTREAM SINCE THE whole fox story. Tigerclaw told me to sleep where the cats with whitecough were. Fireheart tried to convince him that it was just a cold, but nothing had phased Tigerclaw. After about a moon, I was finally cure, and able to go to the next Gathering.
We waited for Bluestar's signal before we were able to run towards the other Clans at Fourtrees. I saw Silverstream talking to a WindClan warrior. It was two moons since Fireheart and I brought the Clan back home after Brokenstar, the former ShadowClan leader, had ran them out to expand territory. Since then, we had conflicts with RiverClan and ShadowClan, who wanted to use the land for hunting.
I flicked my tail for Silverstream's attention. She noticed me, and ran into the clearing.
"Graystripe!" she greeted me. "Hey, you're not sniffling!"
"Yup," I answered, with a satisfying mew, "I'm 100% cured!"
We had just talked about news from the Clans.
"My dad is still angry with Bluestar, about trying to bring WindClan home.'
"I don't understand," I answered. "You have plenty of food in your Clan to go around."
Silverstream's gaze became hard. "You don't understand, do you? Twolegs moved into our territory this newleaf. They wouldn't leave, and they kept taking fish supply. When they eventually left this leaf-fall, the fish were poisoned. Clanmates were getting sick. The fish are too sickly to eat."
"I'm sorry," I pleaded. I didn't want her to get mad at me because of what I brought up. "I didn't know."
Her eyes softened with understanding. "I know. I can't expect someone outside our Clan to understand our suffering.
I have noticed that Silverstream was skinny, and I could see part of her ribs. I felt a pang of sympathy for her.
"Look," I mewed. "The Gathering is starting."
Tallstar, the WindClan leader, stood up at Great Rock. "WindClan is settled in, now, and prey is well for this leaf-bare. We once again thank ThunderClan for brining us home."
That was when yowls from ShadowClan and RiverClan sounded out. Even Silverstream looked furious. *Should I tell her that I was the one who brought them back? Surely not.*
Nightstar, the ShadowClan leader, then made his announcement. "Prey is scarce this leaf-bare. One of our elders has died of black cough. Other than this news, we have nothing out of the ordinary in ShadowClan."
Bluestar then stood up. "The frost has hit ThunderClan, and prey is getting further underground. Luckily, we are still strong, and our warriors are ready to defend the Clan."
Crookedstar cleared his throat. "If I may, I would like to make an announcement." He then yowled to the Clans, opening his lop-sided mouth. "Prey is also scarce in RiverClan. Also, our warriors has scented intruders recently. I've scented it, and it seems like it's just one warrior that keeps visiting the territory. Leopardfur has told me that this warrior scents strongly of ThunderClan."
There were yowls of shock from every cat. I lowered my head, so I wouldn't be singled out. *I know it's me he's been scenting.* Fireheart turned and glared at me. Silverstream's fur was bristling, and it looked like she tried to force it down.
"Bluestar, what do you have to say for yourself? Are you sending a spy to RiverClan? Looking to expand your territory?"
"Of course, not!" Bluestar yowled. "ThunderClan is very loyal, and would not invade! You just might be scenting a rogue that happened to be in ThunderClan territory. We will investigate, as well."
Crookedstar sighed. "Very well."
"I guess this meeting is over," Tallstar meowed. "Come, WindClan! Let's go home!"
I hurried to get back to the Clan to go home. Before I left, Silverstream padded up to me.
"Don't worry," she mewed. "We will find a way to see eachother without my father scenting you."
"I'm not really worried about that," I lied.
"See you tomorrow?" she asked.
I nodded. "Definitely."
Silverstream brushed her pelt against me as she walked away. Her fur was soft as silk. "Good. Sunhigh; at Sunningrocks, on our way to Viewing Rock."
I watched her go, sighing with longing. I loved her, and I hated the stupid code. Who cares if she was from RiverClan?
I stalked behind the Clan, in a daze. I needed to tell her, but when was the right time? I can't ask anyone about this, and Fireheart isn't too keen about this whole thing.
I decided to convince her when I see her tomorrow. There was no other way. ...

This is also a pretty good song for Graystripe and Silverstream. Hello, by Evanescence:
Hello
(Musical Intro)
Playground school bell rings,
Again.
Rain clouds come to play,
Again.
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello,
I am your mind,
Giving you someone to talk to,
Hello.
(Musical Break)
If I smile and don't,
Believe,
Soon I know I'll wake,
From this dream.
Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken.
Hello,
I am the light,
Living for you so you can't hide.
Don't cry...
(Musical break)
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping!
Hello!
I'm still here!
All that's left of yesterday!...
(Musical outro)
