Recently i've discovered a new set of abilities that players can acquire when enjoying Reach on multiplayer. That ability is called Le Parkour (Free Running).
Yes, Le Parkour is a sport in real life that involves extreme use of the body and mind, to overcome obstacles. These obstacles are solid and real, for example: high walls, gaps on the floor, street objects, anything. It is practiced everywhere in the world and is pretty similar to what ninjas do. People savour the sport's sense of freedom and the capability of reaching places and doing things one wouldn't normally do.
Although not every aspect of that sport can be used in Halo Reach, i've discovered small and simple things of that particular sport that we can do, in order to make effective use of the maps' format and geography (relief, geographically speaking).
Imagine being able to fall kilometres and survive the impact? Or climb walls and structures easily enough to gain advantage over the other players (and then jump from there and lose no health at all)? Le Parkour can be used in Halo Reach (or other Halos, if the gameplay is the same in multiplayer) to overcome problems not only with other players, but with the map itself.
If you accept Le Parkour in Halo Reach, you will use the maps and your Spartan for your advantage, becoming more confident and challenging to other players.
I've created more than one maps until now on Forge World, for training Le Parkour. One of these training involves a "wall coliseum", tilted at an angle, with blocks projecting from one of its faces. Players must jump from block to block and reach the top. Not only cubic blocks, but every block (thin or thick, tall or short) available on Forge. It trains the ability to jump on top of objects, which can be high, and to land safely on a small space. This training can help you to climb structures and buildings on custom game, gaining advantage over other players. Just imagine what you could by climbing other players' bases?
The other training map i created is for falling from high altitudes and losing the smallest amount of health possible. For instance, when you fall from high points you lose health (which is bad), but by training Le Parkour, your health decreases by a minimal amount. To do that, you must crouch in mid air, once you've fallen 3/4 of the fall. Also, always fall at an angle (going forward), don't just drop straight down. I will post tips about Le Parkour on Halo Reach later.
I guess you've got an idea of what i mean about using Le Parkour (Free Running) in Halo Reach. I will post other tips later. What about invinting that sport in and gaining advantage to crush your enemies?? Think about it...!
