The bar tender nodded before leaving them alone; the ambience of the bar was dark with small sconces on the walls, and the lights over the pool tables, lighting up the bar. A retro jukebox in the corner stood out like lit-up Christmas tree.

Cuddy was wearing a dark purple dress, low cut with some black beading on the hem; which skimmed past her knees. She still wore her black high heels, although her hair was even curlier and half was pinned up with chopsticks.

Compared to House, who was only wearing a shirt and jacket with black jeans.


Cuddy: Thanks…wait. Greg?

House: Hey Lisa.

Cuddy: Wow. You haven’t changed a bit since the last time I saw you. What is it, six years?

House: Yeah.

Cuddy: Great.

The bar tender put the Mojito down in front of Cuddy, and she took the straw out and drank it in one.

Cuddy: Can I get another one of those? Thanks.

House: I didn’t remember you being an alcoholic the last time I saw you.

Cuddy: I’m not usually like this. It’s just been a really long, and bad, day.

House: I caught your speech by the way.

Cuddy bowed her head in shame, before smiling pitifully.

Cuddy: I hate speeches.

House: Falling would have been more embarrassing.

Cuddy: Right.

She took the drink out of the bar tenders hand, and drank it slowly this time.

Cuddy: You didn’t mention what you’ve been up to.

House: I’ve actually got nothing.

Cuddy: I would have thought you’d have a ton of offers; you graduated top of the class after all.

House: They’re idiot anyway.

Cuddy: Well, if I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

They both exchanged a look, before Wilson interrupted them.

Wilson: Bonnie doesn’t want me to leave her alone overnight. I guess that means I’m leaving.

House: Wilson, this is Dr. Lisa Cuddy.

Wilson: Nice to meet you.

Cuddy: Nice to meet you too.

Wilson: I wish I could stay longer, but. See ya.

Wilson left with a look of annoyance on his face.

Cuddy: He’s married?

House: That’s what the documents say.

Cuddy laughed slightly and smiled.

Cuddy: So are you married?

House: God no.

Cuddy: Single?

House: For now anyway.

Cuddy: I’ve been so busy, it’s hard to even find time for a relationship. I have this interview next week for Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

House: Jersey?

Cuddy: It’s one of those new modern hospitals; I was top of the list of doctors they wanted to hire.

House: Good for you.
Cuddy: I know when you’re being sarcastic.

House: Can I get a beer over here?

Cuddy: Do you remember the last night we spent together?

House kept his eyes on her, as she took another sip of her drink.

Cuddy: We were coming home from a late night campus party, and you told me you didn’t want to leave me…something like that.

House: I said I didn’t want to leave you by yourself. You were practically crawling back to the dorm; I had to carry you.

Cuddy: That’s a lie. I wasn’t that bad.

House: I ended up taking you back to my dorm instead.

Cuddy smiled and lifted her head up to look at him.

Cuddy: We listened to that Neil Young song over and over again.

House drank the rest of his beer.

House: It was the only one I’d let you touch.

Lou Reed-Take a walk on the wild side came on the Jukebox.

Cuddy: They’re playing my song! How ironic is that.

House: What?

Cuddy: I’m not wild one bit; I’m practically frigid, yet this is my song.

House stood up from the bar stool and took her hand.

House: Come on then. You’ve clearly drank for the both of us, so you can act as stupid as you want.

Cuddy stood up; the bar wasn’t as busy as it was earlier. A few people playing pool, and then House and Cuddy hidden in the dark with just the moonlight and small wall lights.

Cuddy: I can’t believe you’re making me do this.

House: I’m not making you do anything.

House pulled Cuddy in close, they both smiled before their faces began to look more serious as they kissed for the first time.

Cuddy: I wasn’t expecting that to happen.

They kissed again, this time more passionately. As the song faded out, they were still kissing.

Cuddy: I’ve got a hotel room.

House: Snap.

Cuddy put some cash on the bar before they left.
