A Happy Life: Chapter 4
[ House,Foreman,13, and Taub are all in the differential room. House is at the white board writing symptoms.]

13:High fever,listlessness,breathing problems
Taub: How did you end up in the ER with Rachel and Cuddy?

[Taub was looking at House with a raised eyebrow as 13 and Foreman looked at Hosue as well.]

House: She was getting all up in my jock.[House rolls his eyes] Can we get back to the patient? High fever, lung depreciation, fussiness.
13: How did you know she was fussy? [13 raises her eyebrows]
House: 13 I want you to call Simon's parents. We need a family medical history to help in our diagnosis. Make up some excuse. Taub and Foreman go through the kids medical records from when she was here. I’m going back down to the ER to talk to Cuddy about the kid.

[13 gets up and goes over to the phone. Foreman and Taub leave to get the medical records. House limps towards the elevators.The door open to the ER floor and House limps out and down the hall towards Rachel's room. He sees Cameron at the nurses station and walks over to her.]

House: Any change? Did you get the results from the blood panel and lumbar puncture.
Cameron: The lumbar puncture as clean. The blood shows a high WBC and some anemia.
House: See what you and Chase have to look forwards to..

[House motions toward Rachels room. Cameron rolls her eyes.]

Cameron: Ya, when we could just be miserable like you. I've noticed you don't seem as miserable anymore since you've come back from Mayfeild. Could it be a certain Dean of Medicine has been helping you with being less miserable.
House: I gotta talk to Cuddy about the kid.

[House limps towards Rachels room and gently slides the glass door open. Cuddy is sitting beside the bed stroking the infants arm. She looks up when she hears House enter the room.House thinks to himself that she looks so tired and sorrowful.]

House: Cuddy has there been anything going on with the kid in the last few days that I have missed? How is her appetite? Are her bowels moving okay? How is her sleeping?

[House walks over and sits beside her in a chair. He gently starts rubbing his leg. It was starting to throb and he hadn't noticed how badly until he sat down. He looks behind himself and then takes Cuddy hand and squeezes it gently with his free hand]

Cuddy: She seemed fine until last night. She usually gets up at least once a night.
House: I know that I hear her wailing.

[House gives Cuddy a smirk. She gives him a small smile.]

House: I'm going to send 13 to your house to look around. I think she would the least likely to snoop.

[Cuddy nods in agreement]

House: The kid will be okay. 13 is talking to fathers parents.

[Cuddy looks up to house with fear and sadness. House squeezes her hand again. House's phone begins to vibrate. BZZZ.. House looks at his phone and get up while opening the phone]
