[House is awakened by a noise outside the bedroom window since he is such a light sleeper. House extracts himself from Cuddy's head lying on his chest and her arm strew across his abdomen. He slides out of bed and makes his way to Rachel's room to check on her. House enters the nursery where he see's a shadow outside the window. House walks to the crib and sees she is sleeping soundly. House then limps over to the window and sees a small person running across Cuddy's backyard. House knows that he can't run to catch that person. House will be waiting tomorrow night to see if Simon shows up again. House pats Rachel on the back and heads back to the bedroom. He gently climbs back into the bed. Cuddys stirs and opens her eyes and to House's ice blue eyes starring at her.]

Cuddy: Whats the matter? Where did you go?
House: I went to check on the kid and my leg was hurting so I needed to walk a bit.
[Cuddy looks at House with concern. She knows it's been hard on him without the vicodin. She loves him all the more for the less painful life he gave up for the more painful one so he could be the man for her. Cuddy reaches her hand over to House's thigh with the missing muscle and begins to gently rub it. Cuddy is the only one House will allow touching his scar. Cuddy's guilt is still apparent on her face each time she touches the scar. House's heart breaks because he knows it isn't her fault. He knows she made the right call. House places his hand over her smaller one and stills it. House pulls Cuddy to him as she yelps and giggles. House begins kissing the corner of her mouth and then her forehead. A small moan escapes Cuddy as she begins stroking his face. They starting kissing lightly at first and then as want and need take over they become intertwined. After an hour or so of lovemaking House and Cuddy collapse with Cuddy curled up on House's side with her head on his chest. Cuddy drifts to her dreams. House waits til she is asleep then limps back down the hall to the Rachels room.He walks up to the crib and pats Rachel on the back]

House: I'll be here kid. Simon is not going to take you or hurt you. You see your mommy needs you. She loves you so much. It would break her heart if anything happened to you. I love your mommy and want her to be happy. I won't let anyone ruin that for her. I'm used to having you around kid. You will have a brother or a sister in a few months. They will need a big sister.

[House walks over to rocking chair and pulls it over next to the crib. He puts his one arm through the slat of the crib onto Rachel's back. House closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep. Cuddy is awakened by the alarm clock and puts her hand over to House's side of the bed. She feels it is empty. She gets up and pads down the hall to the living room. She then heads to Rachel's room. She enters and smiles at what she sees. House is asleep in the rocking chair with his leg propped up on the diaper pail. His hand one hand is placed on Rachel's back. She slowly walks over and places a kiss on his cheek. House opens his eyes to see Cuddy's beautiful greys eyes looking at him. Cuddy smiles at him and takes his hand in hers and helps him down the hall.]

House: This pregnancy hormone thing is really working for me Cuddy. I can't keep you off me.
Cuddy: Shut up House or it will be 4 more hours of clinic duty this week.

[They enter the bedroom. Cuddy pulls House on top of her on the bed. An hour or so later they are both spent in tangled sheets. Cuddy gets up and head to the bathroom. House sits on the side of the bed and begins to rub his now throbbing thigh where a scar replaces his thigh muscle. He smiles because even though he is in constant pain he is still somewhat happy. House hears the shower running and goes to the bathroom to join Cuddy.]

House: I came to make sure you don't drown.
Cuddy: House it’s the shower.

[House slides his arms around Cuddy and places his hands over her slightly swollen abdomen. Cuddy smiles and leans back into House. They shower and get dressed for the day.]
