“You do make me feel funny”

“House, Lucas proposed last night”
She entered his office without even say hi. She just negated everything with those words. House was looking at her trying to figure out if that was another of her plans to pull him away from her life. He thought that maybe she was lying but her eyes showed her emotions and the truth of her words. For the first time in months she wasn’t lying to him, she was coming clean.
“I’m happy for you...”
“House...”
“Doctor Cuddy, congrats, seriously. Oh, sorry, may I call you Doctor Douglas?”
“House, stop this crap! I’m not going to change my name in Douglas. I haven’t accepted yet. I need some time to make things right in my head”
“And...why are you here telling me all those things? Last week I was trying to break up you and your man, and now...here you are...complaining about him proposing. Just tell me the reason you are here”
“I don’t know”
House kept looking at her in the eyes speechless. Cuddy’s hand began to shake a little, he could tell that she was nervous, because his hands were shaking too.
“You don’t look happy”
“I don’t know”
“Well, he just proposed to you. Finally someone who wants to jump you”
“I don’t know”
“Why are you here?”
“I don’t know. Maybe because you’re the only one here in the hospital that I can talk to”
“Why don’t you go to Cancer-Fighter? I think he’s still in his office”
“Wilson? No, he’s already gone. I thought you were still living with him”
“Nope. He lived in...ehm...’your’ loft. I kept my old apartment, that’s where I live now”
“Ah, may I know why?”
For the second time in a few months he wanted to tell her the truth. In a whiper House told her what he hasn’t told Wilson.
“ I don’t want to live where you should have been living with that man”
“So why did you force Wilson to buy that loft?”
“He decided to buy it. He wanted revenge for you huting my feelings that night at the 80’s party...and I didn’t want you to live with him”
“You did wanted? And now? What do you think about me living with him?”
“You’ll marry him. You’ll leave happily with your daughter and maybe you’ll have a proper family together. By now it’s any of my business. And now, if you allow me I want to go home”
“Okay”
“Okay?”
“Yes”
“I thought you would kill me after this conversation”
“I don’t wanna kill you. I did wanted to kill you in the past years, but not now”
“So, you really wanted to kill me in the past, didn’t you?”
“Uhm, yes”
“When I hurt you?”
“Yes and lots of other times”
“When?”
“When you kept hurting yourself”
House stood up from the chair, took his jacket and walked through the door.
“What if I tell you that you do make me feel funny? What will you do?”
House slowly turned round to find Cuddy few inches from him. Cuddy put her right hand on his chest and with the other hand she caressed his bicep.
“What if I tell you that our banters make my day and I love when you enter my office only to see what I’m wearing or if the twins are allright? What will you do?”
“This doesn’t depend on me. It’s your turn”
Cuddy took another step closer, her eyes were glued to his.
“What if I tell you that I always want to kiss you? What will you do?”
“I think that I’ll change my mind about a few things”
“What if I tell you that I’ve never forgot you?”
“I’d kiss you”
Cuddy smiled, while House kept her close to his chest, hugging her strongly.
“Are you really gonna marry that moron?”
Cuddy smiled again. That smile was still on her face when her lips finally met House’s.
