Lisa was leaning on her bathroom sink by next day. She felt exhausted and can’t look at herself at the mirror. She’s disgusted with what she did and she even cursed herself for sleeping with a married man. Tears began to fall one by one and after holding her sore throat for awhile, she finally fell into a seemingly unending cry.
Hugh, on the other hand, had just entered their bedroom. Jo was standing on their porch doorway and looked at him as he closed the door. He could see her eyes were red and with that he could tell that she had spent the night crying but he went straight to get new clothes instead. Jo’s arms were folded across her chest and she wasn’t showing that she’s weak and afraid that her husband might be sneaking around again.
Jo: Where the hell have you been?
Hugh: Poker night.
Jo: Poker night? <she went near her husband and stood beside the closet> I’ve been calling you ---
Hugh: Yah, I saw it in my phone too. I’m late, can we just have this conversation later?
Hugh started to walk towards the bathroom but before he enters the door Jo’s arm prevented him to.
Jo: Hugh, what the hell is going on between us?
Hugh: Nothing. We’re okay. So if you don’t mind, just let me in and have my bath. I’m late for work.
Jo: Not until you tell me where you really are last night?
Hugh: <looking pissed> Look, I’m twice your size. Don’t make me do it.
Jo stepped out Hugh’s walkway and he entered and slammed the door behind him.
An hour later, the whole crew and casts with Katie and David were in House MD taping studio but Lisa’s not around. Hugh was there and was delivering a line with Omar, Olivia and Peter. By the time he acted the part when House leaves his team he sat beside Robert. They’re just seated a few steps away from David who was approached by Jen with phone at hand.
David: You reached her?
Jen: Yes. She said she’s feeling a little sick by the time she got up from bed this morning.
David: Oh. It’s okay. We’ll just tape her scene when she comes back. --- Tell her to get well soon.
Jen nodded and left David. Hugh leaned towards Robert to whisper a question.
Hugh: Who’s missing?
Robert: Lisa. --- Everybody thought she’ll be late but it’s pretty unusual to see her coming past her usual time of arrival. David decided to call her, see if she’s okay and it turns out that she’s not in a pretty good shape.
Hugh looked worried but was trying to hide it from Robert.
David: Robert! Dr. Wilson’s in the scene!
Robert stood up and Hugh was left still looking worried.
A knock got Lisa’s attention while she was making sandwich for herself. She opened it and saw Hugh standing on her doorway. She let him in and he followed her in the kitchen as she continues her work.
Lisa: Want some?
Hugh: Not this time. I had enough in the studio. ----- Why didn’t you come at work?
Lisa: I was feeling a little sick… <tried to smile>
Hugh: Yah, that’s what I’ve heard from David too but I don’t think it’s the reason why. ---- It’s because of what happened last night, am I right?
Lisa: <dropped the sandwich and the butter and looked at Hugh> Even it was, I can no longer change the stupidity I did. How idiot I am to let you do it…
Hugh moved and stood in front of her.
Hugh: Don’t say that. It’s my fault… It’s my stupidity… You’re not supposed to get mad at yourself, get mad at me. Call me whatever you like, idiot, enid, moron, son of a b***h, a**h***e, pain in the ass ---
Lisa was laughing by then and Hugh stopped to see his beloved laughed again after all these times. Then she slowly stopped and smiled at him.
Hugh: I happened to read your diary last night…
Lisa: <surprised> What? – You mean you read the? ---
Hugh: Whatever it is, yah… <he smiled when he realized it’s seems okay to her>
Lisa: Oh god, you knew that I’m in love with a man named Hugh, who’s my co-worker?
Hugh: <with a handsome smirk> I always knew…
Both of them were smiling as their blue eyes got the other but Lisa didn’t knew that as Hugh looked at her, his heart was slowly melting. It totally did when he hugged Lisa tightly like never been before and she returned her hug as well. Happiness were in their eyes as they held each other and love was officially locked in their hearts. Little did Lisa knew, she was giving Hugh some unusual happiness he never felt before.
