I learnt that day that my heart has but one owner. Only one true friend and lover, others have tried to fill the void that you have left, but it is only you that can replenish its thirst.
I know this, for it is only your ears that hear the things I do not say. Only your lips that let slip the things I need to hear the most. It is your arms that hold me with the promise of safety.
Although none of that matters because it is your eyes that tell me the truth. It’s a breathtaking moment every time your smile meets your eyes, its like there is a spell cast on me. I can’t look away, my mind goes blank and my knees go weak beneath me.
However, its not only that, its that your eyes see me as nobody else does. You see my fear and take the heat of the attention. You see my joy and you light up as well. You see my nerves and you wrap a protective arm around me.
