Martha was in her office phoning their suspects, John sat on the outside on his desk watching her. He kept going through the scenario in his head and all the things that could go wrong
"Bloom, are you alright?"
"I'm fine Tessa"
"It's just that you've been staring at her for ages"
"I'm just trying to..."
"What? Lip read?"
"Kinda yeah"
"Okay stab in the dark here...How long?"
"How long what?"
"Have you liked her?"
"What? Tessa if you keep saying stuff like that you'll end up in a mental home"
"Your not denying it then?"
"....For a few months now. How did you know?"
"I see the way you look at her when you think none of us are watching, you should tell her"
"She wouldn't want too"
"Why? Because of all that Brendan stuff?"
"She can do better than me i know she can, She's got enough on her plate right now and she might end up pregnant with our suspects baby so i think asking her out now would be a bit much"
"Maybe after all this is over, Can you wait nine months?"
"I'll try to restrain myself"
Martha came out the office and John jumped off his desk and went to hear what she had to say
"Okay team, i phoned them up"
"And?"
"They want to meet me, i've might have given us the big break we were looking for"
"Well done when are you meeting them?"
"Sometime this afternoon"
"So what do you want us to do?"
"Okay so Tessa i want you to track any devise they have on them to see if we can get a location on them, Jose i want you cross reference this number with the phone numbers we have in the database, Anthony i need you to be out on the streets talking to people and trying to find out where this address this and Bloom i want you to follow me and keep close by during the interview in case anything happens. Are we all clear on what to do?"
"Yes"
"Now just because i have the interview doesn't mean they'll chose me so we must be prepared in case that happens"
"Okay"
"Right let's get to work"
Martha was sitting with the suspects and Bloom was outside watching, He couldn't help but worry about her, he didn't want the stress of this operation to get to her. She might start cutting herself again, he didn't want that. He also kept thinking that if she was ever to have a baby..it would be his. He saw her coming out and he opened the other car door to let her in
"How did it go?"
"It went good, really good"
"So?"
"They picked me"
"What?"
"Yeah they picked me so i have to go to the hospital tomorrow"
"Tomorrow? That's soon"
"I know but they want into the country as soon as possible"
"I suppose"
"Let's go back and tell the others"
When they arrived back everyone was eager to hear the news
"Martha how did it go"
"It went well Jose, they picked me"
"Really?"
"Yes i managed to find out a bit more about them"
"Really? Do tell"
" Well their names are Micheal and Maria, they said that they moved here a few years ago. They can't have children themselves so that's why they need a surrogate, They never said where they lived even though i asked if they lived in the city they just ignored it and moved on. So i am scheduled for an appointment at the hospital tomorrow as they are wanting to have the baby as soon as possible"
"Okay well Anthony will be happy to hear this the Governor has been at him for the past month about this case and now he has something to show for it"
"Great, we need to think of this as the beginning for this unit, we were allowed to be kept on and now we can prove why. Let's get back to work guys"
John was sitting in the living room while Martha was in the kitchen pouring them a glass of wine. John hadn't said a word the entire trip home. Martha was worried but she knew why he was in the dumps, she just didn't know how to ask him
"Everything all right John?"
"Yeah...everything's fine"
"it's just you seem a bit off and we didn't talk the entire way home...If something's wrong..."
"Come on Martha you know what's wrong"
"The...baby thing"
"Yes. Why are you doing this?"
"Because it's my job"
"No this...this is not your job. Your job is to lead a team and sort out the new Jekyll and Hyde's we've got going round not to carry a suspect's baby"
"If i don't do this we lose them and the case and then the team will get rendered useless and then all of us will have nothing"
"So i'm nothing now?"
"That is not what i meant and you know it"
"Well i may as well be since you never seem to listen to me"

"What is it about this case that is making you like this John. What's really going on inside that head of yours?"
"Its.....Its the fact that you're going be carrying a baby...and it's not mine"
Martha just stared at him in shock, she had no idea that he felt like this he never tells her anything like this
"John...i didn't know you felt like this"
"Well maybe if you listen to me once and while"
"Well maybe if you opened up to me more"
"I know. It's just hard for me. After being 15 years undercover you kinda forget to talk about how you're feeling"
"I know..Listen to me. I am doing this case for the team so that every single one of us has a job to go back to. I know it's risky and anything can happen but i am willing to take that risk...if you will be there to help me?"

Martha lent over and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips before letting go gently. She then wrapped her arms around him. John held her so close to him even though he said he would help her: He still didn't think it was a good idea
