So, the article I'm responding to was made a long time ago, but it is still being read, and IZ fans are being somewhat misinformed by it.

1. PARENTS DIDN'T LIKE INVADER ZIM THEY THOUGHT IT WAS TOO DARK AND VIOLENT. (Well, actually, this isn't entirely true. If you go to Common Sense Media, a pretty good gauge of parent reaction that said "The Powerpuff Girls" was too violent, you'll see that Invader Zim is marked as being okay for ages 8 and up, and only a few reviewers complained about it being excessively dark or violent.)

2. IT WASN'T FOR THE RIGHT AGE GROUP IT WAS FOR 9 AND 12 YEAR OLDS BUT BUT LIKED AND WATCHED BY ADULTS AND TEENAGERS. (Nickolodeon didn't really care who watched the show as long as it was still appropriate for children. It was actually a rather high-rated show for a while.)

3. KNOWN MOST OF ALL BLOODY GIR IT WAS HIDDEN IN EPISODES MORE CLEAR IN MORTOS THE SOUL STEALER. (Most everyone knows this now, but I'll say it again: The bloody GIRs were not found until the sale of the DVDs, and Nick didn't care very much anyhow, as it's pretty much impossible to see the GIRs if you're not looking for them.)

4. NICKOLOADEN [sic] KEPT JHOHEN VASQUEZ TO ADD CHANGES HE GOT TIRED AND QUIT. (No, the show was just flat-out canceled, nobody quit. Vasquez did, however, refuse to work on a lower budget version of IZ, which is one of the reasons why it was never rebooted, not a reason why it was canceled.)

5. IT WASN'T GETTING HIGH RATES FROM 9 AND 12 YEAR OLDS FACTS NICK REPLACED INVADER ZIM WITH SPONGEBOB WHICH IS GETTING HIGH RATES FROM GAYS TO CHILDREN TO TEENS TO ADULTS I'M NOT SURE IF IT WAS SPONGEBOBS FAULT BUT DON'T GIVE UP INVADER ZIM IS ON NICKTOONS. (As I said, the show pulled fairly good ratings for a period of time, the real problem was that the show's animation was far too expensive for even good ratings to justify the continuation of the show. Invader Zim did appeal to a wider audience, just like Spongebob, and Spongebob was no more at fault for IZ's cancellation than any other Nickolodeon show, it just happened to inherit Invader Zim's time slot after it was cancelled. But indeed, don't give up. OHP 2.0 is currently underway, and we'll see what that brings us.)
