"Coyotes"

Sipping coffee at a quarter to two
I wake up and i'm dallin and my minds running to you
No wonder i'm a one woman man
She keeps me hot in a jar on the nightstand
I should tell her that she couldn't be more
Opposite then a foot in a door,
Theres no one else I would rather go out with, thats hell when I see them standing there
Me and my mouth we don't mean to be rushing
We talk about deep freely cuz we crushing
I want to shake both sides of the brush ya
Theatrically I say we rock it

And when the coyotes they sing at the park
Till the city lights starts falling
Ride them rodes they winding down till the flame hits the ground
Every motion is closer to touching the coyotes sing when they call in the middle of it.

Coming back for more,
You know I'm coming for you
You know we should be should be together
While we rock, we won't put a stop
Not today not tomorrow.
You better lock your doors
You know why, cuz we want you
Cuz when I kill a liar

I wish the world was a live like you.
I wish the world would help me through
Another repetuity to approach you
Another telepathic rendezvous
I wish you would walk when your jogging
You got a duty to sell in mexico
I got to try to keep you acting shady
I don't like liking you when you walk because
I gotta figure out the snooze alarm
I wanta lay in a place till dawn
I wanta play in the park come on
Now let me see ya alarm in the lesh hello

And when the coyotes escape to new york
Then the city lights has crumbles to the sea
And the girls turned it into lost and found
The flying metal hit the ground
Every motion is closer to touching the coyotes singing
I'm a coyote and I got a taste for your loving

You know I will come for you
You know we should be, we should be together,
Because once we work we want to stop
Not today or tomorrow

Because once we work we want to stop
Not today or tomorrow

You know I will come for you
You know we should be, we should be together,
Because once we work we want to stop
Not today or tomorrow

Your expression number - the 4 - summarizes your first and your last name and accounts for your even-tempered and sober appearance as well as for your profound wish to realize and build things securely. You seek security and you have this undeniable sense of exertion and perseverance. Your number is best symbolized by Saturn and the earth element (this is not the only paradox in your personality!) You are resistant, both physically and mentally. And this particular form of resistance is best symbolized by the keystone....

Second to words, I’m a numbers guy. I like significant dates, digits, and planetary transits. I’ve been drawn to the number 1134 since I discovered while dangling upside-down with a calculator that it read, HELL. Seeing 1134 on the clock, odometer, or as the total on a receipt always makes me feel, if sadistically, like I’m in the right place at the right time. The same with 11:11. I always make a wish. Of course, whether or not it works is all just a story I made up, but it shifts my attention back...

In Kansas, they love their unborn babies. A lot. From KC to the CO state line, Jesus has "highered" billboards advocating the keeping of one’s baby. I assume there is an argument or epidemic of dumpster babies in Kansas if there is a need for so many billboards.

I kept a keen watch of the billboards hoping to catch the World’s Largest Ball of Twine. Apparently the Twine town has the World’s Smallest Advertising because I totally missed it. Dang!

Which came first, plain the noun or plain the adjective? Such queries arrive driving through...

6 hours from Nashville, 33 ½ years since birth. Final destination: California, year 2977. I’m not attached to being a thousand years old but if I get anywhere close, I’ll buy every reader of this blog a chai latte with steamed eggnog. In barista jargon that’s known as a “Cheg” and it only comes out on special occasions.

The weeks spanning from Thanksgiving to New Year’s are typically my most gluttonous. Maybe this is why Jesus gets so popular around this time of year – what with all the people blessing their piles of food,...

"Live High"

I try to picture a girl
Through a looking glass
See her as a carbon atom
See her eyes and stare back at them
See that girl
As her own new world
Though a home is on the surface, she is still a universe

Glory God, oh God is peeking through the blinds
Are we all here standing naked
Taking guesses at the actual date and time
Oh my, justifying reasons why
Is an absolutely insane resolution to live by

Live high
Live mighty
Live righteously
Taking it easy
Live high, live mighty
Live righteously

Try to picture the man
To always have an open hand
See him as a giving tree
See him as matter
Matter fact he's not...

"Butterfly"

I'm taking a moment just imaginin' that I'm dancin' with you
I'm your pole and all you're wearing is your shoes
You got soul, you know what to do to turn me on until I write a song about you
And you have your own engaging style
And you've got the knack to vivify
And you make my slacks a little tight, you may unfasten them if you like
That's if you crash and spend the night

But you don't fold, you don't fade
You've got everything you need, especially me
Sister you've got it all
You make the call to make my day
In your message say my name
Your talk is all the talk, sister you've got it all

Well you've done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon its again my turn to win some or learn some

I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing, were just one big family

"Clockwatching"

Take off, both your, shoes and clothes, I'll follow.
Undo, corkscrew, drink from the top of a broken bottle.
Lately we're running out of time, aren't we?

Smoking, often, and calling out our guilty pleasures,
Let's keep, talking, anything to stop clockwatching.
Lately we're running out of time, aren't we?
Crazy for running all the time, m-m-m-m-maybe.
Let's forget we're running out of time.

I'm off like an airplane,
I'm licking your postage stamp again.
I'm using my right brain and I'm praying that we don't crash.
Who knew I'd cum so fast.
Well so what if a two pump chump can't last.

But I...

[Rapper] Yo, brother A to Z
[Mraz] Yo, whassup B?
[Rapper] Yo, what time is it?
[Mraz] Haha it's laundry day

Well, let the geek in the pink take a stab at it
If you like the way I'm thinkin' baby wink at it
I may be skinny at times but I'm fat fulla rhymes
Pass me the mic and I'm a grab at it
Well, isn't it delicious, crazy way that I'm kissin'
'Cause baby listen to this, don't wanna miss it while it's hittin'
Sometimes you gotta fit in to get in
But don't ever quit cause soon I'm gonna let you in but see

"Tonight, Not Again"

The night.
She brushed her hands upon my flushed cheek
Smelled of childhood remnants of a dusty weeping willow
Clouds soothe, Shredded by the calico
Were oh so vast and quick as I was on my own now.

This time like every other time I believe that I never find
Another sweet little girl with sequined sea foam eyes
Ocean lapping voice smile coy as the brightest quiet span of sky
And I'm all alone again tonight not again, not again, not again.

And don't it feel allright. and don't it feel so nice. Lovely.

Still I'm unable to inhale all the riches
As I'm awkward as a wound on my bones
Still...

Looking back at the last decade I've so much to be thankful for, his friendship included. Rather than making this blog a stroll down memory lane, I’ll stay present and list a decade’s worth of Gratitude (what I can remember of it anyway) in 90 seconds. Go.

Traffic came to a turtle’s pace when I entered into St Louis. I wondered if me adding one more car to the rush hour mix was throwing the city off a little. Why is it called rush hour when it’s generally slow?

I’m also curious as to how much a population varies from day to day – what with people coming and going, driving and flying, birthing and dying, etc. Regardless, if the hospitable citizens of St Louis are hoping to count my head tomorrow, I’ll be gone.

I love being on the road. For the past 7 years I’ve been in the back of the...

Doing inversions in yoga, namely down-dog, the charm on my necklace dances with gravity, falling to rest perfectly over my lips. I find it ironic and terribly cute because the amulet reads “Protect Her Voice.” I kiss it lightly without drawing attention to myself, smiling into its smooth, cold surface knowing my breath is fogging it up a little.

I started wearing the Protection Amulet by Leah In Leaucadia just before my girlfriend went in for surgery on her vocal chords, prompting a week of silence for her, as well as months of therapy...

One time I threw-up Honey-Nut Cheerios while reclined in the dentist’s chair. I assume I was given too much Nitrous oxide after eating apparently too many “parts of a balanced breakfast.” Surprisingly, the cheery Oh’s regurgitated as if I hadn’t ever chewed them up. They came forth from my dizzy carcass onto my t-shirt spelling out “Ooooh” like alphabet soup. Without missing a beat, the hygienist came in and said, “Mmm, Smells like Honey & Nuts.” True story. I bet they saved the footage on the surveillance camera....

You can only polish a turd for so long before it starts to fall apart. So it goes with album making. Thriller was made in just 8 weeks while Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, though rehearsed and performed live before it was ever recorded, was made in just 2 sessions. I am not currently working on Chinese Democracy, but I have been sculpting this turd for almost a year now and it’s doesn’t even remotely resemble a Snickers Bar. My point: It’s still not ready for consumption.

"Only Human"

A squirrel in the tree is he watching me
Does he give a damn?
Does he care who I am?
I'm just a man, is that all I am
Are my manners misinterpreted words or only human?
I'm human

Murderous crow, hey what you know
What you reading about, what you hold in your toes
Is that a twig, are you a dove of peace
A black dove undercover, with another puzzle piece
Are you a riddle to solve all along?
Or am I over thinking thoughts of human after all

Only human
Made of flesh, made of sand, made of human
The planet's talking about a revolution
The natural laws ain't got no constitution
They've got a right to...
