Key cries and talks about his place in SHINee 

Key confessed about the slump period he experienced when he first debuted. 

\'As You Say,\' aired on October 12, SHINee\'s Key was captured having a genuine, heart-to-heart, conversation with a crowd of people, even spilling some tears.

Key started off, "Before I begin to talk, I want to say that I am 26 years old, and I know that I am too young to give any advice to others on how to live. I will tell a short story, and I hope you guys will listen.

"One reporter said to us that SHINee is like a group of swans, that we seem to have natural-born elegance. I came home and thought about it carefully, but I realized that I don\'t have anything \'natural-born.\' So I considered which bird I am like the most and concluded that I am like a chicken."

Key confessed, "Since I was little, I wanted to become a singer, and I wanted to convince my parents\' support before it\'s too late. They opposed at first, but eventually caved in...I kept getting rejected at auditions then finally made it at an audition that was 8000:1 passing ratio. I came an trainee at age 15 and debuted at age 18; I thought I was a swan at the time. But when I finally debuted, reality hit me. Among SHINee members, I always ranked 5th place [last] in search engines." 

He explained, "I started to doubt myself...I found myself as a chicken among many swans. I had to admit that I had no competitive edge." 

Aaawww...It\'s okay, Key! You are a swan now. We are happy that he got over the slump period and became a star! 

this translation is a bit akward. i think this one is a bit better: there where rankings for artists when we first debuted. something like film rankings real- time rankings like we have now. It\'s quite cruel isn\'t it? i always come fifth- not fifth among all artists but fifth among our members. I am told to become a swan but i really do not know how to do that at all. There are so many who are better looking than i am, so many that are better at singing and dancing than I am. There is just no way that i can be become like the swan that is so elegantly floating at the pond. I really did work hard- this is a job that I like a lot- but I couldn\'t become that no matter how hard I worked. and so during the age 20-23, I had no memories. All i did was follow instructions. When told to come, i went; when told to go, i left.;when told to do something, I did it. But at one certain moment, I questioned why i just had to become like the swan? could it be the case that i am a chicken? it\'s impossible that everyone is a swan. If a chicken is just what I am, then i should showcase myself as a chicken .

Our KPop groups are so talented and brave.  Kibum (Key) is one of these most gifted performers I\'ve ever seen, live or filmed, and the perfect fit for SHINee, as well as any other career/entertainment venue he chooses to try.  Glad that he found his footing and self-confidence to be who God made him to be: a beautiful person and an amazing performer!
