I'm the daughter of a cancer victim. My Dad meant too beat his cancer, but didn't survive. "Second Opinion" was loved by me, the thought that a doctor could go to jail for not curing a cancer patient was comforting.


The episode starts off with a women who collapsed being brought into the ER. The moment she is shocked a nurse faints. We learn that the women had breast cancer, and that she was being treated by Dr. Nancy Hoss, with a Metabolic Diet, and died. If she had received Chemo. and surgery she would have lived. Dr. Hoss cops a plea and the episode ends.


First off, breast cancer is curable in 90% of cases, so it's easy to see why the writers chose it. If they had chosen a rare cancer, like the Giant Cell Tumor like my Dad had in the vertebrae in his neck, where there have been no studies on survivors in 30 years, it would be impossible to complain against the Metabolic Diet, as there is no protocol to cure Giant Cell Tumors. One example of a Metabolic Diet, is the Gerson Therapy, and it has been successful, but we need double-blind studies to confirm, but since we've been told diets don't cure cancer, there have been no studies. What I know is my Dad was given surgery and Radiation and died, Jerry Orbach also died of cancer, What if the episode KILLED him? NBC and Dick Wolf will have hell to pay!
