After I have done with the testing of characters' screen time in this episode, I decided to write an article for this episode. This is one of the episodes that I think that many fans of the old anime series will remember which is the episode where Willy lost his memories from an accident and was being trained and raised by a tribe of ant soldiers and is the eighth episode of the European version. This story of the episode itself was probably a popular one that was adapted in some other versions like from a chapter from the Bastei comic book series and an episode from the first season of the Studio 100 CGI series. In this episode, Maya and Willy met a horsefly named Johann who showed them a horse for the first time and they all went to see it, but the horse who was suffered from blood loss (as horseflies drink blood from them) used its tail to get rid of horseflies, Maya and Willy, but it managed to knock out poor Willy and he fell down to the ground and the horse stamped one of its feet on the ground to get rid of Willy or even worse, crushing him to death before the ants found him and they took him to their anthill, but they thought he was dead at first when Johann told them he was actually alive, but they didn't believe him until Willy woke up in pain when Nick was about to eat him by biting one of his feet that made him calling all the ant soldiers by telling them that he is alive and when the ants realized that Willy suffered from memory loss (aka "amnesia"), they tricked him by telling him that he is an "ant" which made him to believe that he is one and behaving like one and starting working so hard by the ant general's orders, but he got very tired of doing that, but he still continued his job as an "ant". He also took care of baby ants who have hatched from their eggs by feeding them milk from his mouth (which I found it as both adorable and very funny at the same time) and when Nick saw all of this and wanted to help him to come out the door, he ended up carrying him like he did with the baby ants and hitting him in the head by saying to him that he is not a baby ant (which I also found that to be a funny moment to me) and then, he was forced to eat apples and even rolling them around the warehouse of the anthill and then, Johann show up by asking him if he still remember him, but of course, he didn't which it made Johann surprised by finding that out and he decided to go back to Maya by informing her that there is something wrong with her friend that he even told her that he became an "ant" which Flip jokingly said that he didn't became something bigger like an elephant as an example which after that, they all went to see how Willy is doing and was still eating an apple. Maya tried her best to talk to him by saying "It's me, Maya!" as her first talk to get him talking back to her, but of course, he didn't remember her and then Flip helped Maya to ask some questions that could help him to remember and Maya asked Willy if he remembers Miss Cassandra which it caused him to get puzzled at the end, but then he seems to remember her, but as an ant in a fantasy sequence and answered back to Maya's question by telling her that she is an "ant" like him which it made Maya so upset that she was about to cry, but Flip comforted her back and then, Flip decides to make his own effort by letting out a big yell to make him able to remember better, but that didn't work out either and then, he went back to the anthill to continue working as an "ant" until he got very tired 'cause he was very hungry, but when Nick tried to feed Willy all the food that they have in the warehouse, he refused to eat them which he told him that he behaved more like a bee than an ant which Willy ended up getting more confused that he even asked himself "What am I after all? An ant or a bee?" in tears at the end. In the next scene, Maya was very worried about her friend that she decided to go back to him to see if he is alright and she asked Nick what he wanted to eat and he told her that he wants to eat honey that it made her wonder how ants can eat honey and the ant general told her that they do eat honey too, but then, Flip show up and he told Maya that ants only find honey by stealing that it made the ant general becoming so furious and asked him "How dare you call us thieves?" and then, Flip told the ants how do bees find and collecting honey/nectar from the flowers which it shocks them and decided to leave along with Johann who didn't knew about that either. The story ends when Willy found out that he was a bee and he decided to fly slowly to find a flower to eat/drink honey/nectar from it which it caused him to regain his memories back and that he even called Maya's name back to find her where she had hidden herself at the end. Here are the ranking results that I have gotten for each character who have appeared in the episode:
10. Miss Cassandra (7 seconds)
Just like the eleventh episode, Miss Cassandra only appeared in this episode for a few seconds in the fantasy sequence where Willy thought of her as an "ant" as he didn't remember her as a bee due to his memory loss, but after he regained his memories back, he remembered everything at the end of the episode.
9. The Bee Children (12 seconds)
Yes, the other bee children also appeared in the same fantasy sequence as their teacher in their ant forms and have managed to beat out her for once, but still, that makes Maya the only one who they haven't beat yet as she have gotten more screen time than them in all episodes that they have appeared together in, but still doubt that they could ever beat her in a future episode as they are minor characters and Maya is a main character after all, so that's why I doubt it though.
8. The Baby Ants (1 minute, 3 seconds)
Well, I decided to include the baby ants from this episode because they were too cute for me to not be included so that's why and they have managed to make it to 1 minute which they have managed to beat out both Miss Cassandra and the bee children in terms of screen time who are ranked lower than them in the list, but yes, even babies can get some more screen time despite of them being minor characters.
7. The Ant Soldiers (2 minutes, 26 seconds)
Yes, the ant soldiers didn't got so many screen time for this episode despite they played a major role for this episode though which the same goes for the other ants too which I listed them as separate characters from them.
6. Nick/Youngest Ant (2 minutes, 29 seconds)
Yes, Nick is the youngest ant of this ant tribe who have managed to beat out the other ant soldiers just for three seconds and got into the sixth place, so yes, we have more young characters who have managed to beat out adult characters for the amount of screen time they got though.
5. The Ant General (2 minutes, 47 seconds)
Just like the other ant soldiers, he also made it to 2 minutes by beating Nick who have beaten the adult ant soldiers, but I know that the general is an adult too which I was very surprised when I found out he was the one who got the most screen time out of all ant characters who appeared in the episode and he was also ranked very high in the list too.
4. Flip (4 minutes, 18 seconds)
Just like the previous episode, Flip have failed to enter the Top 3 again, but at least, he managed to beat out the ants by making it to 4 minutes and is ranked even higher, so yes, he is one of the characters who got the most screen time out of all characters who appeared in the episode.
3. Johann (4 minutes, 44 seconds)
Yes, Johann was the one who beat out Flip and he is also the third fly character who entered the Top 3 with the other ones being Hans Christoph and Puck. So yes, it's very surprising to see more fly characters entering the Top 3 and earning their medals for their first appearances, but I do think some of them may fall out of the Top 3, but Puck is the only one out of three who appeared in more episodes, so I don't think that Johann have actually appeared in another episode and this episode could be his only appearance, but still glad to see more one-shot characters entering the Top 3 and earning their medals for the amount of screen time they got overall.
2. Maya (7 minutes, 28 seconds)
Now this is something that might surprise you a bit, but yes, Maya have fallen out of the first place and got into the second place for once again and earning her second silver medal for this episode, but she still have gotten so many screen time and made it to 7 minutes comparing to the other characters who got less screen time than her as you already know that she is the main protagonist after all.
1. Willy (11 minutes, 5 seconds)
Once again, Willy have managed to enter the Top 3 and got into the first place just like he did in the eighth episode and earned his second gold medal which I'm very glad that he won again 'cause he deserves it as he is also a main character in my opinion and view.
And that's all of the results that I got from this episode and I'm planning to test the screen time of characters in the fourteenth episode which is the one where Maya met an earwig family and is the sixteenth episode of the European version which I will explain more about that episode in the article that I will make soon.
