Hi everyone, I managed to see Crazy Rich Asians with Michelle Yeoh in this film, so here is my review on the film.
The Story
So the story is base on the novel of the same name, and I was really taken aback by it. Despite this, I decided not to read the book.
Anyway, the story reminds me of a stereotypical Asian story about a guy is being expected to marry a rich girl. But, in this film, they decided to break traditions when Nick marries Rachel.
Unfortunately, I was not very happy with the ending by how Eleanor (Nick's mother) acknowledge Rachel. The two women did not hug each other at all to which I was expecting that to happen!
The Acting
One of the highlights for this film is the acting, especially Michelle Yeoh because she was very convincing in this film playing the stern and authoritarian mother. She could surpass the likes of Cate Blanchett especially and I salute her for that!
Many of the cast are newcomers and I salute them for that.
The Setting
The majority of the film is set in Singapore and I was blown away by the location, especially the Mansion and it is very colourful and vibrant that it cheers you up all the time.
The Aristocrats
So, here is my review on the film, make sure to read the book first and then watch the film itself!
