Just my luck part 3
Tenten's pov
After work I waited for Neji on the bench outside of the store. He was taking long but I guess thats what comes with being a manager.
"Hey Ten what's going on? What are you waiting for?"
"Neji. Is he still in there?" I asked kind of tired.
"Yea, he should be coming out. Why are you waiting for him?" She raised an eye brow. "Is there something going on that I should know about?"
I laughed and rubbed the back of my head animatedley. "Heh heh. No. nothing at all."
Temari balled her fist up and yelled. "Yes there is and you better tell me right now Tenten!"
I shrinked back in horror. "Ok. Me and Neji are going out for dinner but its nothing special. I'm just thanking him for the job."
She calmed down. "Oh, well that's all you had to say."
I sweat dropped. "Yea, sure."
"Okay, well I'll see you around. Call me to tell me how the date went!" She yelled running off.
I shrieked, "Its not a date!"
"I'm aware of that Tenten-san." Neji said startling me.
"Oh, heeeeey Neji. I didn't see you there. Are you ready?"
He locked the store up. "I'm afraid so. Lets make this quick. I have other matters to tend to."
"So, what would you like to eat?"
"Whatever suits you."
My stomach erupted I'm butterflies. He wants whatever I want. How cute. "We can go get Ramen."
"Hn."
Neji's pov
We walked in silence until we got to Ichiraku's Ramen shop.
"Two orders of Miso Ramen, please," Tenten said politely.
I found that very attracting as I watched her closely. She was nervous and I wanted to know why.
"Coming right up," Teuchi smiled then him and Ayame got to work.
We sat at the end and I looked at her. "Is there something wrong?"
"Huh?" She asked surprised.
I seemed to have startled her.as she jumped and looked over at me.
"Oh no, I'm fine."
"You seem a but uncomfortable."
"You seem a but talkative but you dont hear me complaining," she mumbled.
"What was that?" I asked even though I heard her perfectly clear.
"Oh nothing!" She laughed rubbing her head animatedley.
"Hmph," I looked away from her.
When our food got done we started up a conversation. We talked about training, upcoming missions, and relationships. Naruto and Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke, Temari and Shikamaru, Kiba and Ino. We didn't point out that we were the only ones, besides Lee, that weren't currently dating someone. I felt it a little uncomfortable. We finished our meal and Tenten started fidgeting. Was that a blush that made its way to her cheeks?
"Neji I was wondering if you would like to do this again sometime. I enjoyed your company," she said shyly.
I was taken by surprise as I started at her. "Sure," I said after a while.
"Great."
"Would you like me to accompany you home?"
Here eyes widened. "What?"
Mines widened on shock too. "No, not like that. You mistakened my meaning. Would you like me to walk you home?"
She smiled with a nice blush on her face. "S-Sure."
I paid for our dinner then we left out. We walked in silence to her and my cousins house. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was peaceful.
"Thanks for walking me home," she said once we arrived.
"I did it because it is on the way to my house," I told a little white lie and she knew it because a smile appeared on her face.
"Sure you did," she giggled then kissed my cheek quietly before disappearing behind her house door.
I stood there frozen for a while. She kissed me.

I kissed him! I smiled as I slid down the closed door.
"I take it you had a good time," Hinata's voice startled me.
I blushed. "You can say that."
"So did you get the milk?"
I sweat dropped.
